I thought "She's The Boss" was a noteworthy album also and it certainly didn't hurt his cause that Pete Townshend, Jeff Beck, G. E. Smith and Herbie Hancock made contributions to it.
Yes, it was! David Bowie, Tom Petty, Duran Duran, Bryan Adams and especially Madonna all were at the top of their game! What a day! I was there backstage with my girlfriend. One of the greatest days of my life!
@@MethildeHe was there genius. He played with another legend Bob Dylan with Ronnie Wood. The stupid we are the world chorus group was warming up behind the curtain behind them and they couldn’t hear what they were trying to play. They got screwed over
About as good a live performance as you will ever see from Mick Jagger. Vocals were spot on and he was doing a full-on workout on stage. He certainly wanted his song to go over to as big an audience as he was ever going to perform solo. The only thing missing was Jeff Beck's crazy solo.
I love my ROLLING STONES, but MICK JAGGER IS THE BEST PERFORMER EVER,I ADMIRE,AND FOLLOW THIS GUY,THE WAY HE DRESSES,MOVES,,,,HE'S A LADIES MAN, NO ONE LIKE HIM 👍👍👏👏🎸🎸🎸
Was listening to my YT music mix..this song came on..Damn!! I thought it was INXS!!! Pounding drums.. Saxophone and keyboards!! Signature INXS Live!! They said that Hutchence sounded a little like Jagger! WOW!!!
Who is with me, noting that the middle piece from 2:31 to 3:12 is probably the best part of the song? The saxophone is like a loose cannon, like a chaotic thunderstorm, adding to the lyrics of a desperate man...
Only band that has no bad performance for fifty years. Mick is the benchmark for a rocker...cant be touched. I remember watching this on TV in my teens.
Queen, overrated. Bowie, meh. This number was great from Jagger, but probably the greatest performance that day was 'Layla' from Eric Clapton and Phil Collins.
Great performances by all I remember it was so hot. Long day started early went late! Went there to see Jagger w turner and Eric Clapton. Rest was gravy I’ll never forget that day or concert! JFK stadium
The thing is, Live Aid broke down so many genre walls. You had Hall & Oates, along with Eddie Kendrick and David Ruffin of The Temptation’s singing back up here. Then you had Phil Collins drumming for Led Zepplin. Madonna sang with The Thompson Twins, Beach Boys singing with REO Speedwagon, Thomas Dolby playing with David Bowie, Bowie and Jagger recording a duet and video. A lot of these were impromptu, last minute collaborations and some didn’t work but it was unthinkable before this concert.
@@airdriver Very true. I have heard (for the most part), it was just the artists backstage...no managers or record label people....that's probably why this magic happened so great on that day.
Glad I got to be there. I was 20 years old and just 3 years earlier I went for a job interview and was speechless when Mick was interviewing me . He seemed old to me but I guess he was 39.
Well today is Micks 81st birthday. First time I saw the Stones was in 72 and haven't missed a tour since and my last was Hackney Diamonds Tour in Atlanta. Mick is still Mick but his stamina has got to be in the top10% of all men in the world from 80 to 85yr old. Happy Birthday Mick! He is Jumpin'Jack Flash✨🥂
i stated on queen's performance video that freddie mercury was very athletic in his performance...now that i rewatch this one...mick also has the same qualities...very well trained for their profession..the man never stays still

I’ve been to four Stones concerts. I’ve never seen more energy, joy and fun in a performance. I’ve seen many.

This track freaking bangs. His band was super tight
2023: Today still dancing around like back than ...almost 40 years later! What a timeless music, simply unique! Simply unparalleled!
This to me is the most beautiful of all songs, like a moment of surrender after all energy in fighting-for-love- songs
As usual Mick Jagger outstanding performance with Daryl Hall & John Oates band at background; This guy is incredible.....
I envy everyone whos been in a concert like this in the 80s
