Rest in Peace Charlie Watts. A jazz drummer who played rock in his spare time. Missing you, especially as I see you on this video.
This is probably the greatest song ever written.
this is my second favorite song, hey jude is first
You are correct.
Could be. I'd say "Jumpin' Jack Flash" is in the running for best rocker ever, but whichever is first, both of these are in the top five. (And Robert Zimmerman's, "Like a Rolling Stone" is not even in the running, despite whatever the supposed "experts" say.)
They are
I would have Time waits for no one easily ahead of this, both for its lyrical poignancy.......... and musical creativity
Rock n roll at its finest. Stones are the GOATS. Love Lisa's vocals. Shes amazing!!
Lisa Fisher awsome voice also very BEUTIFUL!!!!!
Lisa Fischer ain't no joke!! She kills all the songs she's on. Her vocals are PHENOMENAL!!
Very good, but no Merry Clayton.
@@michaelconnors1301 Agree. Clayton was the standard for this song; everyone else sounds good, but their vocals don't sound "wild," and out of control, as Merry Clayton performed it in the original song. Fischer actually sounds "restrained" here.
Lisa is a force of nature on this track
She opens up a big 'ol can of whoop ass, right in the intro....she puts us all on notice...gives me chills.
Another queen of the night!! ✨🌛💀✨
I'm 66 and this gives me chills. My fave Stones song OF ALL TIME!!!!!
76 . Different war …same song
I’m 17 and this is my favorite stones song.
Me too on both counts! I'm 65, n love the Stones thee very most!
you look much younger on your photo !: 66 wow ! anyway my best Stones'song also !
Mick sure as heck never lost it! WOW! He is truly amazing and inspiring. ❤
Why on earth do I always get goosebumps when this lady starts her solo? :)
RIP Charlie Watts, thank your for 60 years of greatness.
🙏
Charlie's style was perfect for the Rolling stones. He was a human metronome. I don't think the stones can replace Charlie. Won't be the same formula. Watch Charlie play during the live Texas Fort Worth 1972. Bitch. Charlie follows Keith . You can see the joy of those two meshing
@@stephenwhorton4942ya, stones cannot replace Watts and Jones, don't forget...
With a 4 kit. Irreplaceable dude
Guitarists 🎸 not bad either!! That girl 👧 has some pipes!
Still the song that rocks my world . 72 years old. First time I saw the Stones 1966 is was turning 16 in a few months. They became my go to band the rest of my life.
same here
Same here. Bought Some Girls 1978 in Sweden. My life changed that day
I saw the in Rochester New York, 1966 or 1965. As if I could remember. Or remember where I hid my ticket stubs.
nazi asov ukraine?
me too and lm a Robert also !!! happy successful and long life to all of us !!! you me and the Stones!!
Everything is right about this song. Everything is perfect about it. I mean EVERYTHING!
2024' the "Rolling Stones" ❤. Mick & Lisa two very powerful and soulful vocals.. great combination.. the Band hands down pure🔥🎸🔥
Let me be Frank. This song captures all the rawness and emotion of that era. The best stones song ever!!
To be frank I'm not Frank.
Frank moment.
I like that frank….let’s BE FRANK
Ageed!!! The Beat
I agree.
Lisa Fisher. That voice is a gift from God, and she took it to the next level.
@@anniedarkhorse6791 Lisa is much better singer . But i respect your choice of singers.
Are You Kidding? He Sound's Like A Hyena In Heat.
it's possibly genetic, Morgan, do'nt bring metaphisics in to it, you demeam her natural talent...now beat it.
I don't like the woman screeching, meaning I don't like her voice at all, and wish they kept the purity of the Rolling Stones - they don't need some woman being just loud and not having the real 'feel' of the song. :)
These guys were , and still are a complete phenomenal act! This woman could break a glass with her voice, wow Lisa!
Is that Lisa Fisher or is it another Singer ??
Totally agreed 👍🏻
The Women who sings the Chorus in the studio versions claims it gave her a miscarriage because the of the amount of takes they made her do because it sounded so good with her voice breaking. So sad if it's true but so electric to hear that part.
Yeah!! and he is Bernard Fowler, an usual backing singer with the Stones too
In this song, the Stones are just another background band for her
The guitar riff gets into your adrenaline, the singing gets into your soul, and the rhythm section drives you to heaven.
You're right !
Lisa is the icing on the cake. Actually she is the cherry on top of the icing on the cake 🍰 Love her voice.
She is divine
The intro, the lyrics, the vocals, the rhythm. All just brilliant.
So true!
Yes yes
Rock n' soul. I love this mix. Great pièce💯👏😎
The energy and the sheer proffesion approach by Jagger for his age is remarkable and the singer with him has such a powerful voice.🏴🏴🏴🏴🎸🎸🎸🎸👍👍👍👍☮️☮️☮️☮️😁
Got to agree with you there!
This is the best version of Gimme Shelter that I've heard.. Keith's guitar has such a rich sound in this version

Not only is Lisa Fischer awesome with vocals and entertaining, she’s also beautiful sexy!! Wow!
How is Lisa Fischer not a superstar ?
Never realized the words to this song till a few years ago. I think it really applies today
I just turned 77, so I grew up with these guys. Anytime I feel like a Stones moment, which is often, I turn to Gimme Shelter. They may have written Satisfaction, the anthem for our Luckiest Generation, but this one's my Pop fix. Jagger and Richard, both 80 this year, and going on tour.....incredible.
Its a good advert for hard drugs 😆... But seriously this is one of the greatest tracks of all time IMHO... the sentiment is particularly poignant today...
Yes its incredible still rocking talent along with something to say is a very rare gift
Thanks for posting your comment about "Satisfaction" and the "luckiest generation." I'm half your age and admiring the band and their songs more and more in the past couple of years. Understanding the Zeitgeist of inception isn't easy to get while exploring an artist's catalog in reverse
Absolutely 🎉🎉🎉
Gimme Shelter più grande canzone de la storia di rock !!
She is wonderful - vocal precision, presence, power. They are a great band, great sound but bloody hell, she is amazing. Credit to Mick, he gave her the space she deserves to be awesome. The Stones are the stars here but they don't cling to their power. And that deserves respect.
Lisa Fisher ROCKS big time! Also saw her doing backing vocals with the unbelievable Tina Turner. What a powerful presence this woman has!
I agree with you about Jagger
Well said.

Charlie Watts added so much to the Stones for so many years. So glad I saw them in 2019. The Greatest Rock and Roll Band Ever!

RIP CHARLIE 🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️
So sad about his passing!
Legends never die! :-)
yes Charlie was the motor of this fantastic band, he was not appreciated enough, of course Mick is awesome, but the beat, the BEAT !
I turned 70 this summer and this music makes me feel 20 again. You will Never grow old if you listen to rock. Best time to live!
I'm 73...AND FEEL THE SAME!!!!
this song is like a kaleidoscope of colors hardly ever achieved by any band!!

Perfection, I think they produced some of their best work in the 90s with Lisa being the seventh Stone, she most definitely owns this song.
Lisa is a force all her own. She really brings this song to life.
Wow, this women’s talent is unbelievable!
Watch- 20 feet from Stardom - to learn more about her and others. Great doc!!
Both Merry Clayton and Lisa Fischer are very much Stones.
Would have loved to hear this talented woman in Eric Clapton master piece as well.
dont fool yourself
I actually cried when she hit that high note omggg
Charlie passing away has completely changed this day for me. He was such a respected and great member of this band. Rest In Peace sir
That woman singer is incredible......damn
Keith kicks ass on this version of the song. He doesn't play many notes because he doesn't have to. What he plays still gives me goosebumps.
Some good shots of Charlie in this version on the day he left us forever.
If you haven’t seen The Rolling Stones live, you haven’t experienced the best front man and live band ever.
I have, thanks: it's Roger Chapman, of Family, who wiped the floor with Jagger all those years ago.
Been there...done that...
@@grahamturner97 it is all subjective to opinion.
Well, it's too late now. I'm glad I saw them on their final Australian tour.
classic stones, take care nam vets, lisa so pretty, and her voice so beautiful
Too all you young little millenials and gen z'ers....This here is the greatest band/group EVER. Watch, take notes and learn.
No one should complain these dudes kill it into their 60s and 70s. That's a bad ass woman there!!!
Lisa Fischer man, Lisa kills it here, absolutely gorgeous
As good as Lisa was, Merry Clayton was better on the original. Just MHO
Omg 100% she is amazing!!!!!!
@@sambateman8097 I was going to say the exact same thing.
With the Stones you have to bring the total package - vocs, look and stage presence - Lisa nailed it in all three. 😘
Yeah-- WoW! 😲
The best Lisa Fischer ever....what a voice 🙏🍷🙏🍷🙏
FOREVER ROLLING STONES WITH ME IN PARADISE
My older brother once asked me what my favorite rock n roll riff was, all time. I instantly answered Gimme Shelter. I wish all life's questions were that easy.
It’s hard to say but “Gimme Shelter “ has to be one of my favorite Rolling Stone songs and what an amazing and powerful live performance! With Charlie Watts persistent drumming and excellent timing and the very passionate and beautiful female singer Lisa Fisher and of course all of Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger’s magic and energy this performance is only stunning to me!♥️🧚🏻♂️🥁✌️
Lisa Fisher is her name..
Thank you
Look up Merry Clayton...she was the original vocal diva for Gimme Shelter and there are some videos on youtube of her vocals for this song cut out where you only hear her voice. She's the OG and absolute best!
I saw the Stones live at Bingley Hall in Stafford in 1974 after setting off hitching it at noon and getting there half an hour g
Before they came on at 730😁🎧🏴🏴🎸🎼
That backup singer leaves it all on the field. Good on her. She's fantastic.
She's incredible. They're incredible.
RIP Charlie Watts. Imo an underrated drummer for the world’s greatest rock n roll band 🤘🏼🤘🏼 miss you
Charlie was never underrated. A fucking drum machine he was.
How can the drummer often described as the greatest drummer in rock music be underrated?!
Probably one of Charlie’s greatest contributions?
1941-2021 ... still you rock. Rest in peace, your beat lives on. ✌️
That's why I've been listening to it a lot today.
Brain and Charlie💜
YOu Frank... and right on!

Lisa crushed it
Adiós Charlie, adiós a mi ídolo de la adolescencia.
Sir Mick is on fire. I was in my teens when the Stones formed. I am glad and proud I grew up and was around during this time. No internet, mobile phones, people respected each other. You didnt need a dating app to meet someone.
You met at concerts like these. Got to see the other person. No hiding away, fake profiles. At 66 I still enjoy the Stones. Long may they live.
It's still like that. The actions of the few don't determine how the majority of kids and young adults live
Me too. Stones music been with me for 40 years, still luv listening.

Stones have given me everything for 50 years ,the greatest rock n roll band in the world .

My favorite Stones song, and I love the story of How Merry Clayton recorded her part in the studio, and the fact that her voice cracked but they kept it, it made the emotion and feel of the song so much better
They got Mary up in the middle of the night to sing her part she came in still in her pajamas.
Wasn’t she pregnant?
@@anthonygutierrez6460 apparently she pushed herself so hard to sing her verse she suffered a miscarriage

Kool as cucumber.
A human metronome for sure.
It's crazy how their two contrasting voices complimented each other.
The contrast is one can sing and the other not
@@armageddon1403 If you're joking... LOL If you're serious, you have a very narrow idea of what a singer is. I have a more trained voice that Mick, as does his back-up singer, and probably more range. But I am not even a small fraction the singer that he is. His natural artistry with his voice is truly amazing. And didn't mean to infer that I am as good a singer as Lisa is. She's a great singer. But so is Mick.
@@dougmiyamoto3109 Youre full of it.
Mick would never get a singing job in any other band or whatever constallation.
Hes voice is good for the stones because your used to it, but no he is not a singer, hes an entertainer.
@@armageddon1403 So I guess Louis Armstrong can't sing either? Joe Cocker?

Not only are these guys old as dirt - They are still kicking ass rivaled to most bands 20 years of age today... Absolutely incredible!!
Not just kicking ass!!! They are the best and will never be rivalled 👍🏻
Esa era musica mierda rock huuuuufffff
And they are still real musicians playing real instruments.
Mick looks like he was having a LOT of fun ❤
Just a rock masterpiece - Mick and Lisa belting out spare lyrics with passion and precision, great rhythm by Charlie and Ronnie and one of the most iconic guitar licks of all time from Keith whose fingers look like little gnarled tree branches. There was no way that guitar was going to sound anything less than what he wanted to coax out of it.

I'll tell you the story of my father.
When he was very young, about 14 years old, he listened to The Rolling Stones on a reel tape recorder in the basement of his house. In the basement ... because he lived in the USSR, where this music was banned.
And he never thought he could get to your concert.
In 2007, I learned that you are coming to St. Petersburg. And I bought 6 tickets and we came to your concert with the whole family. After this concert, I fell in love with your blues.
