But as you mentioned, if you know nothing about cs that means your from non cs/IT background. Dont misguide people. MIS guys dont only do sql and excel. Many of them work in project management and those cs guys work under them. In the long run mis guys have more chances of earning more as compared to cs guys.

you forget to tell that MIS person are also do some programing in vba for automating some repetitive work so it is also part of programing both have equal growth MIS person are more in vba and data extracting by using vba macro and that leads to another scope for them that is data science which is more demanding right now

Start off on a free vedio lecture by Andrew ng for the mathematics part on RUclips or coursera.. And how to import learn through stack overflow.. If a person majors in something other than CS, then they have to take all the basic prerequisites such as those preferred by a job and they can go on from there to do a relevant internship and prove that they can handle the job requirements. It's basically the same in almost all the fields. Although it may be hard and may take longer, it's still possible to get a job with a different major.

I'm currently an MIS student, I took accounting (1), accounting (2), managerial accounting, math, statistics, and more. Trust me all were fun! with the right instructor, everything is fun. You'll only find it a bit difficult at first, but once you grasp it you'll enjoy it.

In US you cannot study medicine directly after high school, a 4 year undergraduate degree (pre-med) is required
