Just what I needed in time including the example with Salesforce made it much more relatable for me as I was skeptical on how to pursue that part of my learnings and work experience if I go for my masters. Perfectly explained. Thank You so much !
Information systems will train you in every aspect of running a business and preparing you for engineering management but I had a specific focus on IS when I was doing my MSEM. It truly is a game-changer because the engineering manager has first-hand knowledge of business operations and IS will prepare you for this.
Great video. I come from doing a business analyst Bootcamp training, came from a psychology background and I'm doing a career change right now. I'm now thinking of doing a Masters's degree. So far, all this information has been very useful for people that is just starting. Best regards.
Well, Yudi! I am struggling to find words to describe you. You are so benevolent. I mean after watching this video I am quite certain about my masters. I am humbled and grateful. I've always been ghosting away from MIS because I used to think that it is very technical & I don' want it. However, you cleared all my uncertainties. Thanks!
I would love to work in something that allows me to use my creative mindset (visionary). Maybe jobs related to like Creative Director, Content Creator, Marketing, Consumer Behavior stuff, maybe even Graphic Design, UI/UX, Front End Dev to be able to create things people like or see, etc. I’m not really too interested in coding but I know it is a good skill to learn and have because it will take you places, but I personally am not a person that enjoys being part of the process to make things work, rather I am the one that likes to be creative with my ideas and tell them to people and kind of be in the process of the making. Basically, I don’t want to do the work of developing my ideas but I probably wouldn’t mind if I have to also do part of the work to make my ideas come to life. EDIT: here’s some context I am a computer science major at the moment and I am confused whether I should make the switch to MIS or idk maybe IT, because I originally wanted to become a business major. Now I’m introduced to the very technological side of computer science, I am like 50/50 with my decision now. I really was drawn to business because I feel very business minded as a person, but now I am not too sure and am really confused. I am scared that if I major in something that isn’t computer science, and instead something more business focused, I might regret my switch later on in the future.
why do i feel this on the same accurate level? 😭 i’m 18 and now i’m doing a diploma in business yet i feel like i want to go for a communications/arts major but i still love the business aspect eventho i prefer being creative! now i’m looking at the salary aspects and MIS looks like a good degree, however i’m worried if i chose this i’d be dead inside and be terrible at it 😭
I feel the same way just as you explained and if you dont mind can I ask you what major did u go for? I am in the same place as you were probably and therefore any tips would help! Thnks
Finally i found what i wanted its like u have made this for me pure content no nonsense thannkkkkkkuuuuuuuuu a lot i would have treated u right away if u were there around me❤
Yudi! Just listening to you talk gives a lot of clarity! I have been following you on social media for a while now. Keep up the good work. What you're doing is amazing.
Engineering management is a good degree program to get into if you're someone who likes engineering or has a previous engineering background when you were doing your bachelors in whatever engineering course you were taking but the engineering manager is a bridge between the engineering Department and the administration.
Although I appreciate the time and effort put into this video, it is very inaccurate. MIS is a very technical degree. Especially if it has the STEM designation. If you are looking for a degree that is weak in technical concepts and you are just looking for management concepts, get a straight business degree in management. You’ll get disappointed when you realize MIS is a combination between computer science and business. Also, I recommend getting a very technical MIS degree. The more the better. All those “project management” classes this guy is talking about are worthless. They are just common sense classes and a waste of time. If you are getting an MIS degree and are trying to avoid technical classes you are going to be shocked once you start. Its not the right degree for you. This dude got it real wrong explaining this degree. Please dont waste your time getting an MIS degree that has a weak technical background. Its going to be worthless and you wont find any work!!
no, Technical as in you are actually acquiring a skill. example, learning a coding language, a database language, or it increases your mathematical or analytical skills... not just bullshit business/project management classes that are about general common sense that will not equip you with any new skills. @@terranesha5784

hi brother thanks for your video. i have a question. My academics is completely focused in Management. I have already completed my MBA specializing in Finance. Now i am currently working in a bank in a department which is a mixture of IT and management. After working in this department i felt a need of studying a technical degree. So, is it okay if i do another Master's degree in MIS or not. Will i have the same opportunity as the one who are already in technical field pursing MIS degree for their further studies. will it be harder for a student like me who are not from the technical field.
