This was a really interesting talk, but Jubilee should get pro-vax doctors and anti-vax doctors to debate. This seemed a very imbalanced set of debaters. Please do a pro and anti vax MDs episode, thankssss.
You miss the larger point here. This is not an issue of "process" = but one of substance. In other words what vaccine opponents claim to rationalize their misguided beliefs represents subjective twaddle and pseudoscientific gobbledygook. That means "who" makes the claim is not relevant as what is being said = falls outside the realm of legitimate science. So people who claim to represent the medical field when what they claim does not reflect legitimate medical guidance = are just so many more idiots spouting off. Don't get hung up on perception here. Focus on what matters = what is being said - or not being said. Who does the talking is not important when what is being said is subjective rationalization.

I actually understand Erika's apprehension about the vaccine seeing as she's had adverse reactions with other vaccines. What I can't understand is how shut off about the whole conversation Siaka is. It's such a selfish mindset to say, "I got it and I felt alright, what's the big deal?" Or "I haven't changed my lifestyle and I'm doing great so everyone shouldn't panic" Honestly, some people need empathy.
Like Thomas stated a few times, they have witnessed the worst depth of human suffering over this last year. When you've been exposed to that on a daily basis, it has a sort of deadening effect. They were surely frustrated with the ignorance on display, but they also understand not everyone has been a witness to the severe reality that they have. They can only hope people like Siaka choose to come out of their ignorance and find the logic and empathy required to consider the wellbeing of others.
@Drea A if I recall correctly, if you have adverse reactions to vaccines you’re considered as one of the people being protected by heard immunity. We try to get the majority of the population vaccinated so that we can protect even those who can’t get vaccinated.

@@thatcheesysongwriter So if you had a 2% chance of dying each time you drove a car, would you consider driving a car safe? You'd die by the 50th time you drove.

The facts given by the healthcare workers were facts, yes. But they aren't the only facts that exist. There are other facts, like how 98% of people have survived.
@@thatcheesysongwriter So if you had a 2% chance of dying each time you drove a car, would you consider driving a car safe? You'd die by the 50th time you drove. If you drove twice a day for a month, you wouldn't survive a month. And many of the people who survive have long-term symptoms, and we don't know how long they'll last. Two percent is a huge number. If you had 50 loved ones get COVID, that would mean that 1 of them would die. You're cool with that?
There are countries where very few people have died because of the precautions that were taken. This many people don't have to die of COVID. Yeah... I mean, props to him for having civil discourse. I also understand his skepticism when it comes to political narratives, but you can tell that he looked up his facts based on confirmation bias.
If he had researched facts from those with opposing views, he might be able to make a more informed decision, even if it's the same one.
Say this prayer Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen thanksss ss

That's what I mean when I talk about confirmation bias. It just sucks to see it take hold of so many people.
by siaka’s concern about the vaccine only working “94%” of the time, we might as well stop using condoms or birth control.
because it could still cause pregnancy right, or break, etc, so just don’t use it?

It’s interesting how that Siaka was trying to minimize the amount of people who died by saying “it’s barely 2%” and well he’s right but he’s being extremely selfish. He’s basically saying it’s okay to sacrifice a couple of people for his comfort, that’s privilege and selfishness. The general lack of empathy for those who died... just sad. :(
Exactly! and I think he was saying that he didn't change his lifestyle and social distance.. the lact of empathy is such a shame
that small percent is still 2.7 million lives lost, people like Siaka make me sick
The 99% that he was referring earlier was also referring to healthy people under the age of 65. The vast majority of people that are stricken with the illness are elderly, obese, and/or with a comorbidity

A skeptic person usually questions many things, even his/her own beliefs, and takes a decision after checking multiple sources and trusting the evidence. Unfortunately, the term "skeptic" has been confused as merely "against mainstream narrative", and too many times attributed to deniers with rather dogmatic believes.

“Unless the vaccine works 100%..” No vaccine works 100%. For example, the flu vaccine doesn’t work 100%. It’s different every year to account for new strains, and the Covid Vaccine may or may not be the same.
Literally, almost no medical intervention is 100%. Those uterine implants that stop pregnancy by telling your body you’re already pregnant are only 99.2-99.8% effective depending on type. If you’re holding out for 100, it will never happen
Sooo does that mean we should treat it like the Flu and not change the whole world because it's here and not going anywhere?
@@RCFlyer85 I meant that the Covid virus mutates into new variants, which may be similar to the different strains of the influenza virus; however, all Covid cases are caused by one virus- SARS-COV-2- so my original statement is incorrect. We should not treat it like the Flu because the general population has immunity to the flu now because it’s been around for more than a century, and we have also been through the flu pandemic. The COVID-19 virus is new, and the fatality rate is a lot higher than that of the flu.
@@RCFlyer85 My only point is that 100% is never going to happen. People still use contraception and blood pressure medications even with some risk that they could fail. This is because it MASSIVELY reduces risk. “But it’s not 100% effective” is a terribly ignorant argument, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no purpose to the treatment/preventions, just that we’re honest that it can OCCASIONALLY fail.
@@RCFlyer85 Wearing your seatbelt doesn’t 100% prevent you from dying in a car accident, but I don’t hear you arguing that you shouldn’t wear one because “it’s not 100% effective.”
The fact that Erika thinks being vegan is preventing her from getting covid is astoudning lol
people are like take vitamins and meditate. im like sure jan😂
Being vegan won't prevent her from getting covid but it will protect her from suffering as a result of covid. Meat eaters end up developing a lot of underlying health conditions such as heart disease from high cholesterol in meat etc which vegans are more protected against and therefore those underlying health conditions which a lot of meat eaters do end up developing later in life as a result of their meat consumption are going to make it harder for your body to fight off covid.

I'd love to see an update to this one now that we know the death rate was less than 1% and that the vaccine doesn't prevent infection.
It does prevent death and hospitalization. And 1% is huge if the disease spreads.
@@shardsoficeNo, it’s not huge. It was almost all older people and people with co-morbidities. If you take them out, almost no one died, and many people were forced against their will to get the vaccine. The revisionist history won’t fool anyone.
