My best memory of my first trip to Switzerland in 2004 was the sustenpass I camped on it and spent a week on the stunning roads surrounding it :-) pure heaven
When feeling a little pissed off with living in England, I just pop this on for a bit, then pop on redtube for a bit, and alls ok with the world... for a bit.
Whether road or enduro it has got to be some of the best riding in the world.....I'm lucky enough to frequent the Italian alps alot and it never fails to blow me away... great vid Baron...Ride Safe
Wow. If it wasn't for cameras made to be fitted onto motorcycles I'd probably sleep when I come home from work but the passion is way to strong. Thank you for taking us on that little journey what a view
These were my exact thoughts riding through the mountains in Scotland a few months ago, I actually slowed down to just cruise through them instead of nailing it through the corners
Loved the way you talked about just enjoying the ride. I like to ride fast doing some twistie roads but sometimes i get to some beautiful mountains and just go enjoying the view at slow pace.
i love how i just watched a crazy vlog from do it with dan with racing and stuff and now im watching a calm cruising video from the baron it really works out quite nice
I did it 10 days ago on a 2010 Moto Guzzi V7. On my way to Mandello del Lario to celebrate the bike's 10th birthday. It was awesome. I did it in the other direction, as I was staying at Lauterbrunnen that night and doing the Grimsel and Furka the next day. Switzerland (though I think Chris had a whoopsy more recently than this vid) is incredible...
Don't worry about that "lack of talking", Baron: that fact by itself speaks volumes. Just taking in the scenery and listening to the engine noise makes me all dreamy 😀
Baron, in July my better half and I did pretty much same passes as you two now, just with a car (this time...)- even that was breathtaking... And now watching your videos all the memories are coming back- definitely will go back, hopefully by bike next time... Or the one after that... Highly recommended route for vacation to everybody...
I love Switzerland and I love the Susten pass. I've been there 4 times now and actually visited again three weeks ago. it's such a beautiful country. I've ridden a big chunk of Europe now but I always seem to want to pass Switzerland. just last week I went on a second trip I went to the south of France, north of Spain, Andorra, Maritime Alps and back through Switzerland again (!) to go to the black Forrest in Germany. I recommend the swiss alps to everyone. car or bike, it doesn't matter. Go!
Super! If you want to see rough mountains, go visit the Dolomites. And mount your camera on the left side. That's better when you drive on the right side of the road. Anyway, great movie!
Thanks for every time that you share these wondeful journeys. The rides, unto themselves, are amazing, but when you throw in the BvG musings........jolly good stuff!
Amazing roads Baron. You should try the mountain roads and the coastal roads in Gran Canaria, really gorgeous and diverse scenery and and great turns, some of them pretty scary as well.
I life about 1h away from this pass and this summer we went there to watch the sunrise!!! Please baron put this on your list. I'ts absolutly amazing ;)
I did a tour through these passes a few weeks before you guys did. Best experience of my entire life! These videos make me relive every moment, thanks for that. I get that dumbstruck feeling, every stop I could only say "Wow". On the other side, Baron's got a JoJo sticker on his bike, I think things are getting pretty serious then ;)
awesome! I've done the grimsel, and youre right the susten looks to be that much better. Who doesnt get that feeling of awe and amazement when surrounded with such beauty? It is emotional, if you feel nothing there seems to be something wrong with you.
Love the channel content. We went up that when I was a kid, my dad was driving a Nissan Serena and a twin axle caravan. Was the best thing ever. There’s a road that goes out over the glacier and back in again. I’m going back one day and doing what you’re doing. Safe riding
My Mrs and I did a similar trip this July. Susten pass deffo a highlight. Go to Switzerland, enjoy the roads and the scenery..... then carry on into Austria if you don't want your pants pulled down for decent accommodation and food. Check out the Hantenjoch and the Grossglockner passes. Then take the Black Forest highway (b500) on your way back to Blighty (if you absolutely have to come back). Great video BvG!
So much beauty, SO MUCH . . . it is a overload for my senses. If You die and you get send here with a bike, I wouldn't mind, like you said, this is heaven.
Really enjoying your content, makes me really want to get up to the Rocky Mountians in the US this summer, US version of the Alps, but with the added attraction of being able to find bears, moose and elk on any given corner.
The Alps really are stunning during the sunny months. Lovely during winter too but that fresh mountain air during summer, just.. wow. I rode a Honda CBX500 in Lanzarote last year and it completely changed my perception of riding. Hoping to trade in my sport bike next year for something like a GS or Tiger. So much more chilled out to ride, lovely position to sit in and ya don't feel pressured to get knee down on every corner. Had an absolute blast just cruising round the beautiful scenery.
Baron, I get the same reaction you do whenever I'm in the mountains.... an 'ooooh' or an 'ahhhh' round every corner as the views get better and better!
Thanks for this, Baron; as someone who is not even remotely close to Switzerland (American) this is a real treat, and I agree with you; you could be on a scooter (gross) and still enjoy the roads there. Also, I don't mean to be rude, but this is the first time I've seen "your woman" and well......hot damn you lucky bastard. I mean that in the nicest way possible, of course. A girl who likes to ride is just the dream!
The real shame is that the people who live and work there probably take the whole place for granted. These kinds of places also make me quite emotional too, I think its probably a mix of beauty and the enormity of it all. I'm not in a position yet to visit this particular area so it makes me all the more appreciative that the likes of the Barron make these staggering vids. Well done sir.
That‘s what we have here in Switzerland all summer long! 👍👍💪💪And it never gets boring!!! I always start at 5.00 or 6.00 in the morning. I have fresh air and streets for me alone. That is live. By the way, you don‘t want a sportsbike in the mountains. A GS or something like that is the best on mountainpasses!
Wow is quite a useful word...I use it quite a bit bumbling around the mountains here in Italy...I also use the words "Look at that!" and "For gods sake, just watch the bloody road!"
I went nostalgic today and watched your old BvG videos as they remind me of a time when my life was calmer... they are the equivalent of a warm bath... watching the videos I got the urge to want to do a tour and I wanted to ask if you ever thought about hosting a tour or would you suggest a tour company for a European escape. Thanks as always... now I need the bubbles for the bath.
This is my home, I live 15 to 20 km away from the Susten, Grimsel and Furka Pass. When you visit Switzerland on a motorcycle, then this area visited (Bernese Oberland). The nature, the lakes - beautiful area. Of course also with a car... :)
Hi Simon, I'm flying to Munich and renting a motorcycle for a European tour. Plan on heading to San Sebastian Spain, but definitely want to ride through Switzerland and especially Susten, Grimsel, and Furka Pass. Hopefully the weather cooperates. Can you recommend specific roads, routes and towns to for hotels etc. Picking up bike 9/13. thank you -Pete
Yes this was a beautiful ride through some stunning scenery. Sometimes it's hard to find the right superlative to describe the scene and that's alright which is exactly why you didn't need to entertain us with description at every turn. Good job and nice video.
Love these travels vids. Question...on a trip like this do you ever wish you were on the XR instead of the big GS? I've ridden both (briefly) and the XR seemed superior in every way to the GS...but then 50 million GS fans can't be wrong...
+BaronVonGrumble Go to the Great Smokey Mountains. If you are into scenery, its the the place to go. The people in Tennessee are nice as well, although a bit . . . off.
I just recently moved to Germany, Bavaria. Have lived in England for 10 years(and loved it) and before the big move(driving here via hired van) sold my bike.......let me tell you- i cannot wait for my new bike before next summer to go on the Alpine adventures( i can see some of the Bavarian and some of the Austrian Alps from my Balcony!!!!) ... just 5 more month of saving, just 5 more month O_O

You know a place is amazing when it makes you run out of adjectives. Scenery so good it turned you into Baron von Humble.
Vision Flap.
+BaronVonGrumble I love you
: )
+BaronVonGrumble Roads in the Alps are one of the most beautiful for bikers and the views are wonderful :) Greetings from Slovenia Baron
+BaronVonGrumble You left your bloody number plate in, you nutter!

The flat twin chuffing effortlessly...
through unmatched Alpine scenery. I very much enjoyed.
Thnx, SteveSoCal
Man rides chainsaw through Susten Pass?
+Andrew B haha -yeah, got a bit of a backlash on that one... but i liked it! its coming....
Great! Thank you. I thought the first one was hilarious.
I've done this lots of times now and I'm still blown away by it each time I go.
Absolutely Breathtaking, thank you for taking us along.😊

Incredible simply incredible, one day I must try this
You've completely sold the idea of going here to me - top of the bucket list now! Can't even begin to imagine what it's like to experience first hand.
Did this same journey about 10 years ago on the back of my dads R1150 GS when I was 12, such a beautiful place!
"Its alright you wouldn't fall far" -BvG 2015
That cracked me up!
It's also probably the least reassuring thing I've ever heard ;)

Jesus christ that scenery.. I need to visit Switzerland.
+RobotGoose You wouldn't regret it. Saying that, pretty much anywhere in the world has it's own beauty spots.
JayJa Vu Yes of course, but its just something about mountains that get me.
I realized that when I drove around the mountains in Slovenia.
They do have a certain majesty to them.
+RobotGoose Why don't you say, Mohammed that scenery...you scared of Muslims? Why insult the Christians?
+RobotGoose if you do don't skip the city of "Luzern" ;)
Susten Pass immediately goes to top of Google searches! Wow bloody wowzers!
The best lines in this vlog....
Barron: Should I carry on
Jo JO: YEAH (As loud as possible)......
Beautiful roads - fantastic views - Mountains and Snow - so much different from West Oz. Bloody great mate.
Wow. If it wasn't for cameras made to be fitted onto motorcycles I'd probably sleep when I come home from work but the passion is way to strong. Thank you for taking us on that little journey what a view

BEAUTIFUL !! You really know how to enjoy the ride.A BIG SMILE on your face all the way.!
Simply brilliant. Those views would leave me speechless
i love how i just watched a crazy vlog from do it with dan with racing and stuff and now im watching a calm cruising video from the baron it really works out quite nice
Such amazing natural light - WOW.
I do want to thank you for stopping and sharing the views. I never seem to want to stop the flow of the road and the bike. Until I need fuel.
Been there. Watching this from about 2 hours away, with summer breaking in and about to pick up my next bike. So excited.
Relationship goals, touring goals, life goals.
Anyone else watching this and thinking: "Soon!"

Haha, such an enthused and genuine "YEAH!" at 6:39 . I have to make it to the alps soon!
All is I can say is thank you for sharing this with us.
I can smell the fresh air just by watching this.
Don't worry about that "lack of talking", Baron: that fact by itself speaks volumes. Just taking in the scenery and listening to the engine noise makes me all dreamy 😀
Totally awesome scenery Baron! It is definitely on my Bucket List to ride over there after seeing your videos from there!
I can see how words fail trying to describe a feeling for an experience like this, amazing Baron, I have to do this one day
Yes very beautiful place in Switzerland and so awesome video Baron,
Going there. Next year. Really don't have any excuses anymore now. If not now, when? Thanks for showing me the light.

I laughed so hard for some reason when the riding buddy goes YEAH!!! When he asks "d'ya wanna carry on?"
I really need to visit the Alps. Mountain riding is the best. Amazing scenery.
It's funny how I live in Switzerland but only videos like this make me remind I actually live in a nice country.

THANKS, MATE, VERY BEAUTIFUL, I CAN ONLY DREAM OF RIDING THERE.
Nice ride Baron. This is also my favourite one. In the summer I try to go up there every day it's possible.
The Susten is also my fav. Such a nice flow on both sides.
Just breathtaking views... non-stop! I'm super envious of you, Mr. Grumble. :)
Just a beautiful view! Looking forward to get there myself.
Thx for sharing this.
Amazing roads Baron. You should try the mountain roads and the coastal roads in Gran Canaria, really gorgeous and diverse scenery and and great turns, some of them pretty scary as well.

Thank you for this wonderful series of Alps videos! I so want to go back after watching these vids! Keep up the good work!
Thanks to this video, we rode this pass on Monday 29th July 2019
What a road
Thank you for the inspiration
I enjoy some twisty, hilly roads here in Australia, but Switzerland looks fabulous! Maybe one day.....
Looks fabulous in many respects, definitely a place you can enjoy without having to ride hard. Good video!

What a stunning place
Yes! My mum moved to Switzerland middle of this year. Turns out she is just an hours drive from this road. :D trip on the cards.

The first line you said just earned you a sub.
Baron, do you think you'll ever do a cross country trip across America? Keep up the great vids.
+CCFerrariF1 possibly this winter.....
***** well you always have a buddy in North Jersey if you want a home made Italian dinner :) Best of luck!
Haha! you're sick my man.
+BaronVonGrumble If you make it to Pittsburgh (I think it's unlikely if you're talking winter..) give me a shout. Be nice to chat to another Brit.

Omg JoJo B, speechless , I asked a month ago when would you be meeting this amazing lady.. and bam! here she is with you in Swiss heaven. lol.

Nice to see someone else shouting "wow" and "look at that" under his helmet when in the Alps. :-D
