I don't know how you do it. A near 15 minute video felt like 5 minutes. Always entertaining, never dull to watch and listen to. RUclips is definitely your friend and credit where it is due. Keep giving us great content! :-)
What amazing roads they look so epic and the baron is a legend..just passed my motorcycle test a month ago been driving cars for 29 years can't believe I have missed all them years of joy that a bike gives you...keep up the good work baron
Came for the scenery, thumbs up for the Gopher!
My gosh Baron, this was Beautiful. OK the few glasses of wine from my couch always helps, but you really don't realize how awesome it is to share this. Man...That made my day. Keep on Ridin' Mate!
I reeeeeaaaaly need to go here one day. The scenery is just amazing. So lucky!
Awesome video.
But it's quite sad that you were in such a rush. The place, where you had your little break is called Belvedere and there is a beautiful ice cave, a real MUST SEE.
But I guess you'll be coming back to switzerland anyway, right?
I went there on my ride last year, the cave was spectacular!
Drove the Furka probably 100+ times already, including very foggy and wet night runs. It still is amazing every time!
Been there these year too. Transit to Route Des Grandes Alpes. Just beautiful.
Once you rode in the Alps, you can't stop thinking about it... 😍 Great video series, Baron! I've just watched the first two episodes, and I know I will have a nice weekend as I will be watching the next two ones. Thank you 🤘🏻
Beautiful! Straight out of James Bond... only on a bike not in an Aston, and without being shot at by villains!
Thank you Baron. Thank you! this is why I follow motoVlogs. For beautiful scenes like these!
You don't want to be getting a bad case of target fixation up there!
I was thinking the same thing. Hit one of those cement pylons on the way down, bounce off and over the edge you go. Yikes.
I think of the same thing when im in Luxemburg, fixing on something u shouldnt and u could have a long fall.
Does give some nice views though :)
I was slightly terrified thinking about that. The field of vision on the helmet cam (the fishbowl effect) might make it look worse than it is, but still...
He was smart to mention the panniers though, hit one of those and him and the bike would be flying.
I visited Switzerland a couple of years ago and loved it. I was near where you are in this video but in Lauterbrunnen. The entire country is like one beautiful golf course.
Great shot of the road across the valley snaking up the hill @0:18, what a trip man. You must of been smiling quite a bit behind that visor.
Wow... I have to ride that rode before I die. Just beautiful!
Struth mate that's some mighty fine scenery and road
That road looks like a fucking dream come true
I followed and tried to catch a bmw 1600 gtl up here on my 800 Tiger and couldnt get anywhere near him! Loved every second of it. Not scared one bit. You just have to marvel at that which is laid out before you. Cant wait to go back
Did that pass this summer on a fully loaded cbr1100xx with the wife on the back in heavy rain, rubbish visibility riding through clouds.....My stomach was churning again watching that!!........some a those drops!!! Biking heaven on a good day though.
Stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Great Vlog! Beautiful and a little suspenseful.
What an incredible road and scenery! I need to get my ass there.
Great clip mate, hope you went over the Susten pass too which is by far the most beautiful in the area
Great video. I lurrrrrve the Alps! I'm just watching this in the UK as I eat my generic breakfast cereal before saddling up for my morning commute, the prep for which will include flicking the switch on heated grips so this has brightened my day.
Quite jealous you spotted some Marmots. I was absolutely hanging out to see one in my recent trip to Canada but could only muster the odd Chipmunk.
As a special treat, search on RUclips for 'Marmot Scream' and enjoy.
Its always that contradiction with your uploads between wachting immediately or setting aside, to wach it later and enjoy the anticipation. keep it up bro, great work as always. cheers
:24 Dark Vader?
That was scary and I am sitting in my chair! Yikes, in the dark and wet - no thank you.
What was that caravan driver thinking? Or maybe it should be drinking?
Beautiful scenery and that road... Like you I wonder how they engineered that road, I guess "When needs must" applies here.
Road that in September three of us, that Hotel you passed was used in a James Bond films. We stayed at Innerkertion then went on to Stelvio stayed at Bormio was great trip.
Excellent work Chris. ✌
Yet another awesome video, "Chrissy"! All the best, mate.
What a beautiful pass!
Watched lots of your Motovlogs now, definitely one of the best Mvlogers on the tube. Inspired me to have a go myself. If you ever come to Vietnam I can show you some great scenic roads.
Love this type of video from you Baron
Amazing place, we went the same direction as you along the Furka in thick fog. Was terrifying!
Years back I ended two different 14+ hour drives at mountain passes. One was fogged in like you had, the other, the pass was completely iced over and I was fighting a loaded U-haul trailer without brakes, trying to pass me the whole way down. Both were just scary to get through with being so road weary. Note that I said 'drive'. I would not want to be in that state on a bike doing the same thing heh.
Heading to the furka pass (from Nottingham) this june after watching your vids, three of us, '17 superduke r, '16 tuono factory and a z750. I heard you mention you'd be going again on your hp4, more than welcome to join us, if the times good for you. Any tips you've got would be appreciated!! Keep up the good vids, get that zx7 on top of the srad aswell, loads better bike. All the best 👍👍🏍️🏍️
Looks amazing! Great video! Thank you..
Incredible views and an incredible video.
11/10 Baron.
I love your European touring Vlogs Baron - makes me want to go touring myself !
hartside pass in the uk is a good a ride climbs heights of 1900ft can see the Lake District on a clear day! Cool vid!
Great Video! You site got me off my ass to buy a bike and start vlogging! I'm in NYC so nothing as majestic as the alps. Thanks for continuing to put ups such great stuff. m
I’m living in Switzerland since 2010 on the Thunersee.. Lake Thun. I’ve climbed all three passes.. Grimsel, Furka & Susten in one day on my Trek Madone and on my GSA 1200 .. definitely easier on the GSA .. but a fantastic feeling to do all three times n one day on the race bike ... 👍😉🇮🇪☘️
That is one awesome road 👍🏍😜
Thanks for bringing us on board, that was fackin gorgeous!!
Awesome road, after my trip across Africa i feel the needs for some good alpine twisties!
I rode the furka grimsel stelvio gavia,.... passes this summer and i have to say that the furka, even though it was by far not the tightest and most difficult pass, was by far the scariest. those little bobbins on the side of the road are the only thing that seperate you and vour bike from a huge drop into death... Even though it was quite scary it was just amazing and i can only recommend anyone out there to get on their bike slap some luggage on it and ride into the alps. You wont regret it
Thank you sir. As close as I'll get to a ride like that.
"Never eat shredded wheat" thought I was the only one still doing that!
just looks so amazing
You need an exhaust for the GS! Nothing is better than the sound of a boxer but what good is it at 5 decibels? Let that baby breath. Idk if staintune makes a full system for that bike but it makes my R1100S sound so sexy. All this being said assuming it's not the microphone which isn't doing the bike justice. Love the videos, Baron. Thanks.
Well yeah, riding passes in bad weather can be really tricky. You can be instantly in the clouds where the visability is nearly zero and you just see all white.
Riding the Furka is getting really funny when a caravan and a bus have to cross. But the view and scenery is awesome (in good conditions)
That quick-shifter is awesome
Been watching since day one, never missed a vid.
As a ex-pat biker living inland from La Rochelle France, my closest mountain passes are in the Massif Central (half day ride) or Pyrenees (also half day on the autoroute). As the Baron say's the alps is do able fairly easy from SE England, SW England, then the Picos de Europa and, or Pyrenees is on the cards, plus you can take in the Massif if you want to go home through France to a channel port. You Northern Bikers can go either way. If you are greedy you can route through all four.
Aussie guy planning on doing furka in June. It's much scarier than I thought. Coming up from Como and trying to work out the route to Zurich via furka?? But loved this video as I do all your content!
Bernie in sydney
good memories from my Alps 2014 trip! Did Furka twice but not the way you did in video. I guess I have to come back!:) Weather was fab, despite chill?
Would be cool to hear your pick of kit for trips like this, and any tips/tricks you've picked up from doing quite a few.
stunning, looks like the roads near me!!! ha!
Absolutely gorgeous, you made my day Chrissy! :)
If you do go over - it's grass all the way down. Mind you - you'd probably hit one of those little concrete plinths first. :-) Love the videos, thanks.
Hello !!! Congratulations on the adventure !!! I would like to know the route, mentioning only the main cities they have made in the Swiss Alps. Hugs here from Brazil !!!
Wow 😍😍😍 bucket list 👍
I felt dizzy sat in my chair looking at that drop!! Amazing views though!
The brakes really do take a battering on big bikes like that! I remember on my old 990 Adv heavy late braking down a hill was always pretty hairy lol..
well that's on my list for next year
FFS! Keep your hand on your sixpence! One slip and your toast, bottom-eating-seat-bends love it!!!
I was there in June! Amazing riding.
Typing and packing the GS before you even reached the valley
Let's ave it 👊
loving these videos! thanks
There is a vehicle train through the mountains, and its terrifying on a bike. Its open like the freight train on the Channel Tunnel.
Definitely one of the best biking roads in Europe....when it's quiet.
Ah fuck, I've had the same experience climbing the Furka a few years ago, as you did, Baron, that "other night": Visibility can't seriously have been more than 5 meters and everything around me was dark-grey. Busses still running though.. insane! It's been one of the scarriest rides yet, for me. The second time up there I chose the weather more carefully before I drove of from Zurich, but that time rode straight into a police radar-trap, costing me a lot of Swiss Francs and blocked my licence for a month. Still, I love the Furka.
Foreshadowing that epic fine!
Hilarious that it looks like two out of every three bikes you pass are GS's !!!! Unbelievable number of 'em on the continent.....
Great Vid! Its on the list!
Bucket list for sure. Wonder what the best time of year is and when this vlog was shot???
ooooh 13:15 never seen road rage Baron before. He's usually well mannered.
I think those flat twin engines sound quite nice.
Scenery to awesome for words
Ride Safe Baza ;-)
Does your neck ever get cold up in the mountains? That's where most of your blood flow is and if that gets cold...everything is cold so if I were you I would just recommend you where a sweater with a turtle neck....I just don't want you to get a cold Barron. Happy trails! :D
The Gofer creature, whoa great,i looked it up,its an Alpine Marmot.
Hi baron. Like your vids keep it up! How did you blacked out the cases? You still have the adventure?
You got any news on when the Ghost 4K will actually be released? Want to get my hands on one asap.. ;)
Very nice! I'm shocked that buses can navigate those turns.
welcome to switzerland
come to Japan if you want to see some crazy road projects xD
Well, looks like I need to drive to Switzerland! Oh and Baron, where's the Datsun!
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who says "Never Eat Shredded Wheat" in an attempt to remember directions.
Superb.
Why am I revisiting this just to listen to your reassuring voice?
So green! We never see anything that green in SoCal
Great stuff mate! Thanks for the inspiration ;)
love this pass !
BVG is the interphone ok. did you try it with music and I know you said that the agv helmet was tight, but with ear plugs was the sound still audible. love your work cheers.
Hey mate, love your stuff. Keep it up!
That's damn beautiful man. How much has this trip cost you?
came here from walterrific love your stuff got yourself a new sub
BaronVonGrumble when was this ride recorded? Would be interesting to know, when it snowed on the Furka. Btw, did you know that this is the road from Goldfinger :)
If you think THAT was terrifying, you should definitely ride the Gaviapass :)
That helmet facing shot at the beginning is yr Trueman hero shot. Cool as F.
I NEED to visit Switzerland. One day...
Good twisties, NZ has some amazing ones too, come over!
it would be awesome to send a drone through that canyon.
