I am now putting in a formal request for the crew to attempt an a-wing slash when the game releases. I just finished the five legends Thrawn books, so Bel Iblis and Thrawn tactics are at the front of my mind.
I think the ship I’m going use the most will be the fighter class because they are armed with a balanced load out and can dog fight, flee away fast enough, and is able to do some bombing runs P.S loving the squadrons game I’d love to see more :)

It looks similar to be sure. I suspect that while ED is going to be more complicated overall because of how many options you possibly have (including non-combat options), it looks like SW:S has a few more tricks to try to one up your enemies.
My only trepidation about this game is that I've NEVER played team play anything. I have no idea how to play with other people while talking to them. This is why I play video games, usually, so I don't have to deal with people. And now I need to find people to play with.
Doubtless, you'll be able to match with random people, and it's rare that there's any useful communication on a random team, so you'll be able to get away with being silent. It'll be better with friends, but that's true of every multiplayer game.
I have a question. In theory, just, hypothetically speaking, since there are no turbo lasers on the back of the star destroyer, would it be possible to just park a Y wing behind the bridge, effectively using it as cover while you took out both shield generators?
EcksToo okay that’s good to hear. Just looking at schematics I found online it seemed like the only turbolasers were on the front, so I was worried about a team that could do that while having other teammates defend the Y-wing from enemy fighters. Thanks for the response!

imagine a planetside 2 version of star wars, like a system conquering version. you fight a fleet protectin the system, and once you do that, you go and help with another system and so on, fighting for a sector of the galaxy. but you're fighters and soldiers. boarding ould be pretty cool

I was so bummed out when I couldn't figure out the flight controls. The Default controller setup was so difficult to figure out. It all made sense once I switched to the Aviator controller setup. I'm really liking this game!
I haven't been hyped about a Star Wars game in YEARS. I loved Fallen Order, but I wasn't HYPED. I've been practicing by creating my own fleet battles in X- Wing Alliance.
I absolutely love this game, it’s very addicting when playing with friends. This is probably one of the few games I’d be happy to pay full price DLC for, especially if they add clone era etc
I wish fleet battles had more ships besides 3 on each side and more like 4 or 5 different new republic and imperial cruisers. For example their could be 2 or 3 star destroyers and a couple of carrack cruisers, a raider(my favourite imperial frigate especially the new republic version)and two arquitens command frigates for the empire for example. In the new republic side their could be an mc80 cruiser(maybe 2 or 3 in that formation) or one of that and a starhawk after the campaign obviously and erm others since the rebel alliance used stolen ships as well as some ships from the clone wars and the empire as the new republic
(Edit) This may be a bit confusing so bear with me. If you have any questions about this just comment them. I play a game called elite dangerous. It’s a really fun game and it has similar piloting mechanics to squadrons. (Power distribution, advanced scanners, combat, you don’t explode if you run into something, etc) although, elite dangerous is definitely more advanced. You can speak through your comms, you can mine from asteroids, you can enter star ports, buy new ships, enter fleet carriers, (which are capital ships) you have an external panel (which allows you to interact with the galaxy) an internal panel (which allows you to interact with your ship and your self) and many more things that you can do. This game also has a massive open world, and I mean fricking massive. It’s probably in the top twenty (at least. Maybe top 10) the game has been in existence for years, and no one on the online servers, or the private servers, has ever explored into the outer sectors. (At least to my knowledge.) eventually you get to the point where you can’t find any inhabited star systems which means no star ports, which means no fuel. This galaxy even evolves through time which means the game will use a procedure to randomly generate civilisation in new star systems after certain intervals. You can even join a squadron which is basically like a new group of friends, and you can pledge alliance to major galactic powers. I love this game and really recommend it to people who are in to space flight games.
The orientation features look useful. I hope this can be customized and includes multiple targets: eg. you can see the wing leader's target, personal target, support ships, waypoints, etc. There also used to be buttons for "target nearest ship targeting you" and "target ships targeting your target" so you could find who is attacking you or whatever you're trying to escort.
This was present in the original 1995 Tie Fighter game, as well as the ability to store 4 preselected targets in the system... but i have the impression you already knew that hehehe...
@@fchiarel I honestly didn't know about storing the 4 preselected targets, or maybe I knew it but never used it and forgot about it completely. That game had a lot of hotkeys... I definitely ignored a handful of them haha!

I’m stoked, this is the closest thing to the old X-Wing or Tie Fighter games I have seen. I loved those games and looking at this one I imagine it will be great as well. Keep up the great content.
When I get the game, I'm gonna try out the spin and shoot move, where I think either kylo or vader spun around rapidly and shot the enemy while spinning, I think they also used it to dodge missiles
I know it is early to be talking about DLCs while squadrons hasn’t been released yet but I really hope they add at least 5 DLCs and some ideas that I think will be great are; adding the Lancer Frigate and the Hammer Head Corvette to the Corvettes that spawn when the moral is on your side, to clarify only one Corvette will spawn but it would be randomized between the two. Another idea which I think everyone is thinking about is to add the Tie Advanced and the B wing. A third idea is a more complex one first, they add the GR-75 and the Gozanti, the second part of this idea is like the corvettes they will spawn when your squadron's morale is high it allows players to spawn closer to the enemy’s capital ships. I’m not sure how they would do this for GR-75 and how the mechanic would be balanced but these are only ideas. The third part of this idea is they add a new game mode in which there are three transports and they are trying to make it through a blockade to get important information to either side's faction and the players try to protect or destroy these transports. Again these are only ideas.
I feel like all I do is die. I like it bc each time I go into the fleet battles, I get a little better, there are just a lot of controls. Thanks for the tips I learned a couple things especially helpful bc I didn't know you could go back in the hanger I should have though, I think we used to be able to do that in old version of Battlefront II.
A question about attacking capital ships. Can you destroy individual turrets? From other videos it doesn't seem like you can target those subsystems, and only the "larger" systems like shield generators show up for the largest ships. But just because the targeting computer can't display it doesn't mean it can't be hit. Did you notice anything in this regard during your relatively short playtime?
Hmmmm. I know it's a STAR WARS game but I just have to say I'd love to see a Star Fury in this environment. Maybe after the game has been out a while we will start to see mods that can satisfy my curiosity. Could you imagine? Star Fury v.s. an X-wing? That would be AWESOME. This game looks like it's going to be lots of fun.
Big, BIG question (OK, 2 questions actually): 1) Can you link your lasers to fire in tandem (or 4-shot salvo for the TIE Interceptor & X-Wing)? 2) Can you roll the craft independently of the other axis?
Do you already have an idea on how to farm credits (legally)? In X-Wing mission 2 of tour 1 has an endless amount of TIE fighters, even after the completion of the mission. Something like that would be a great way to rack up some credits quickly.
Honestly the y wing would be a good support ship not the best in dogfights but still a good support ship

I hate tech gaps, and I love skill gaps, because it’s really easy to play smart and people who don’t play smart really don’t deserve to win... especially if they basically paid to win...
In most footage repair items, or better big green icons for them can bee seen. Are they only dropped by support ships or are there also neutral ones placed throughout the map? I suppose, the ones dropped by support ships can exclusively be taken by ships of the same faction(?).
I'm brand new. Game became free due to ps plus. I'm CRUSHINF. And I suck at games usually. I'm averaging 12 kills a dogfight and 0 to 1 deaths. It's nuts. I hope it's not just because I'm low ranked haha

Hey eck I was wondering what the shooting felt like. Did you feel like your shots were hitting when they should? and what is the general targeting like?
Im very excited but also very worried (a) I will get so dominated that it becomes disheartening to play or (b) After a few weeks it looses its charm and hardly come back. Thankfully there is at least single player mode to not have a lot of pressure and enjoy the starfighter pilot fantasy.
Is the game easier with a controller? I'm on mouse and keyboard and my aim is terrible. I used to play bf2 on Xbox and was really good at space battles. Any tips on using a mouse or should I switch to controller?
Can everyone drift or is it just imperials? When taking out Shield generators can you shoot them or are they shielded and can you fly inside a shield to deal damage
At 0:51 you can see a cr90 corvette that looks like its been modified with extra guns, having 6 turrets on the top instead of 4. I was wondering if anybody knew why this ship is like this? I haven’t found much online relating to it but I found it super weird how it had been modelled like that.

Man, I really hope this gets expansions to other eras/factions. A Mando faction would be amazing.
Mandos don't have enough capital ships for the main gameplay. But it doesn't mean they couldn't find another way to integrate them and other ships

It's a more player friendly version of what's in X-Wing.

There are turrets on the back of the ship. If you could take them out, maybe. But then you’ll get destroyed by enemy fighters

Yes you can target and destroy individual turrets
On the counter measures I prefer the jammer, because it seems the most useful.
I think the Star Wars show leaked a new ship at 6:24 you see a bunch of X Wings flying with a TIE with curved wings

Neutral only exists in dog fight mode. Resupplies are limited to your team

I think they should turn down the respawn time because 15 seconds is huge it would also be a really frustrating wait

Can everyone drift or is it just imperials? When taking out Shield generators can you shoot them or are they shielded and can you fly inside a shield to deal damage
Every ship can drift
At 0:51 you can see a cr90 corvette that looks like its been modified with extra guns, having 6 turrets on the top instead of 4. I was wondering if anybody knew why this ship is like this? I haven’t found much online relating to it but I found it super weird how it had been modelled like that.
They just have 6 sometimes. Been a thing since legends

I think the best way to destroy capital ships to me at least is disabling their engines and weapons first
Does putting power to weapons systems only improve cannons or does it help with bombs missiles and torpedoes?
I believe it helps with missile reload as well, not positive tho. Good question

So far we’ve had a lot of interest. I’ve personally talked to Templin Institute, Star Wars Explained, Cpt Shack, Bombastic, CubsFanHan, and more... all who are interested. Getting Patrons in would be really fun though.

Slavrisa one of the problems I have is that people keep saying that the bomber r super slow, which y wing r not they have white engines, they should be less maneuverable instead
