Debbie you might want to check out the gear that ultra light hikers are wearing to stay warmer. If you are having to wear 5 layers of tops, 3 hats and still cold. It means the gear is "Sub-Par". Check out Darwin's video's on gear. He and his wife are both Long distance hikers and avid van camper people. He's a plethora of knowledge about anything out doors.
Yes, I've followed Darwin for quite some time. I have tons of gear. Just didn't bring it with us as we were expecting warmer temps. The wind was pretty ferocious that day and I am always cold.
We own a Pleasure Way Ascent 2016 - purchased used in 2018 in San Antonio, TX, drove back to SF Bay area. Fits in our drive way, we dump into our sewer access. We love it, use it for around town and trips. Put 14k miles since purchase. Had LiIon batteries - added 2000W inverter/charger, Agile OffRoad "ride improvement package" , RB Components shelf in cab, removed drop down Continental spare tire carrier and added Agile Off Road spare carrier. and after market stereo and Clifford alarm. Driven to San Diego several times and latest trip was 3000 miles SF bay area to Denver - to La Jolla - and back home. Love Pacific coast and 395 and southern Utah. Debbie - you inspire us with your trips and upgrades to the Ascent.
I bought a brand new 2017 GMC Savana 2500 van two years ago and built it out myself as an Adventure/Surf/RV. Totally self contained with solar power, a Dometic CFX-40, 2000 watt pure sine wave Inverter, bed... totally stealthy but comfortable for me and my wife - it's about 85% complete. I also have the Rad Mini (love it!) which fits inside the van which protects it from the elements. I really like the van because it's perfectly taylored to my lifestyle, easy to drive and maneuver, great on gas (19 MPG on the freeways), and it fits in my townhouse carport. Saw your video out of Bolsa Chica; I surf all at lifeguard stations 21 and 24 all the time... Keep up the great work!
We have a 1973 Superior Coach Class B on a one ton Chevy Van. We have had it for 20 years and have visited every state you can drive to, and much of Canada too. It is a little rare, we have never seen another like it. A gentleman in New Jersey said he had seen one. Superior Coach widened the van by 18 inches, gives more room inside. We are not full timers, but go on trips 4 to 6 weeks. (Alaska was 2 1/2 months). Works great for two older retired folks.
My husband and I just sold our 2014 24 ft Mercedes Sprinter and bought a 2006 Winnebago Journey 32T! We loved the nimbleness of the sprinter but after 5 years I grew tired of how small it felt. We travel with 2 large dogs and go for weeks at a time. Can't wait to get out in our "new" old rig!
2020 PW Plateau FL. It's my mobile office for work through the week and weekend getaway vehicle. We love the freedom it provides to camp off-grid anywhere that suits us.
I love our tiny travel trailer. It is a 6'x8' Runaway Range Runner built by a family owned company in Ocala, FL. We take our 12'x12' outdoor screen room, a Clam, with us when camping which serves as our kitchen and living room. We've owned 5 travel trailers over the past six years; this one is a keeper for us. Loved this video...thank you!
Never slept in a tent or RV but I am an avid watcher of your channel. It shows me the opportunities I had but never took advantage of because of being too busy.
We have a Chalet a-frame pop-up trailer that we bought new in 2009. We love it. Has a wet bath, fixed queen bed, and a heat pump (functions as air conditioner). Lots of height for tall people like my husband.
I should add: we bought our new Lexor in July and had never owned any type of RV before. We are staying pretty close to home (GA) until I get more comfortable. My husband likes camping but it is really my dream. Thanks for all the instructional videos. They have really helped this newbie.
Thanks for your video(s). I own a HYMER Van, Car 372, year 2013, based on a FIAT Ducato, length 6.32m (=20.8 ft), Diesel, engine 96kW, fuel efficient 8.6 l on 100km. Excellent vehicle. Greetings from Bavaria,Germany.
I have a 2013 Ford Transit Connect XLT. So it is very small but it works for myself, Jack Russell and 2 cats. I learned to use the height of the small van with 12" shelves, twin bed and different sized baskets for all my needs including a bike rack + a long container on the roof expanding the usage for extra items. I get 24 miles per mph making it cheaper to run!!!
We have a Winnebago Era 170A and love it! It served us well on a four month trip this summer that started with the Ruby Mountains in northern Nevada, through Oregon, Washington up to Port Townsend at the NE tip of the Olympic Peninsula and then down the Coast back to Palm Desert. Joshua Tree suffered the misfortune of becoming a National Park which puts it on everyone's must see destination, it was less crowded as a National Monument.
2020 Pleasure Way Pateau TS, living in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. New to traveling in our van since April. Your videos are so helpful for us...thank you.
I was there March of last year and I completely loved it! Those dirt roads in the back you were biking on were very welcoming to my Ford E-350 van too. I stayed on BLM land, took the tour bus around and then took my rig in, only because I didn't have a bike with me... Next time I go I'll take my Rad Step through and really enjoy the park more! I love it there, but again the camping is too close. Thus why I stayed on BLM land and loved it. Yes, the visitors center is great, and Twenty Nine Palms is a cute little town!
I live full time in a 20’ school bus I converted into a camper myself. Cost and customization was the reason o chose this option. I have learned to avoid camp sites as $15-$20 is excessive $600 from my limited pension. But I will be visiting this park soon.
We have a Lance truck camper, with a 2018 Ram 3500 diesel PU, we spent 5 weeks in BC and Alaska this past summer. We were in several of the same areas as you, but didn't cross paths. Looking forward to future similar trips.
2014 Pleasure-Way Plateau TS. I would love a smaller rig but my husband likes the room for his "stuff". I'm just thankful to be able to travel. I do love Pleasure-Way. Quality van and great customer service. And thank you for showing me how to travel easier with your wonderful modifications and travel tips.
I’m retiring next summer and am probably going to get a 25.5 foot Thor Axis/Vegas 24.1. I need something big enough for me, two dogs, two cats and my sister, on occasion, but small enough to avoid having to tow a car.
2009 Roadtrek Agile. Thanks for the informative video. We are headed that way from Connecticut next month. Should be there late February/early March. We’ll take our regular bikes. :-)
I’ve been RVing for 26 years and have had two 24-foot Class C’s, a 26-foot Class B+, a 22-foot travel trailer, and now, a 2011 Pleasure-Way Lexor TS Class B. All have their advantages and disadvantages, but I love the maneuverability and ease of parking in the Lexor.
Started watching this video a few days ago, ran out of time so came back to finish tonight. We LOVE Joshua Tree! The vegetation, rocks, sunrises & sunsets can’t be beat. Definitely cold in the winter - we went thru a propane tank there heating our Scamp several years ago - much more comfortable in our Rpod!
Good video quality and editing. Articulate and well thought out comments. I found this helpful with good information. I subscribed. We have a 25 Airstream with a Tundra TV. Also have the Rad Rover. So, the trailer choice was due to build quality, residual value, ease of towing and maintenance. The size is just right for most USFS, State Parks and National Parks. We can go 7 days without any hookups. We have solar panels and a backup generator. Look forward to your Arizona travels. We do most of our travels on California Central Coast, Oregon and Utah (Moab area). Hope that helps.
We fulltime in a 25.5 ft Winnebago View 24V Class C Motorhome. Love Joshua Tree and especially Jumbo Rocks. Have been coming here since the mid-60s in our family Ford Travelwagon camper van. You should have seen us squeeze into one of those tent spots in our Motorhome. One of our neighbors had to move to let us out. The BLM boondocking on the south side is great - Free with cell reception.
If you head further East you should try City of Rocks State Park north of Deming, NM. Very similar feel to Jumbo Rocks with plenty of camping in the rocks opportunities. Only a small percent of the campsites are reservable and the best ones are first come, first serve.
Another interesting video. Thankyou. We have an Alto 1743 from Safari Condo. Lightweight (1750 lbs) fully-equipped caravan with huge windows and modern design.
45' DP. I could never live happily in a van. I stay right out side of the parks and then ride in on my bicycle or small car or bus and get the full experience of the park.
We have a 30' Jayco class C and we pull a Jeep towed. Because it has a couple slides it drives like a large truck but lives like a bigger RV. Gas mileage isn't great (ave 8 mpg) but the comfort factor for us and 2 big Goldens is worth it. Thx for all the great videos.
We love our 24’ 2017 Coachmen Galleria (Mercedes Sprinter chassis) and have already traveled over 45 000 miles on extended road trips. We love its versatility and ease of driving, however are thinking of the Leisure Unity island bed for its separate sleeping/kitchen/dining and work areas that would make working on the road less cramped. Love your videos! Your creativity and ingenuity is contagious.
Local hardware store has heated jackets, cloves, & socks and then you don't need to layer. I use a heated vest often when skiing. Great to see you're finding some of the places we have been and camped. Best RV Marriott
I don’t own an RV yet, but really interested in Pleasure Way Plateau TS. Also waiting to see what PW is doing with the wide body styles. Salesman from Fretz RV, on TD Adventures RUclips channel., said all 3 wide body styles are out of production now as they are being redesigned. Can’t wait to see what PW is working on!
Have not bought yet (we live in San Francisco and don’t have a place to park it). We enjoy tent and kayak camping regularly. But, the camper van that comes closest to what we like and want is the Hymer Aktiv. We like the layout and European styling. I like modern style. I have a strong dislike for high gloss wood finishes or faux, French Country RV interiors.
I camp in a 24’ Advanced RV camper van. I must have been incredibly lucky, because my first extended trip in my new-to-me van included Joshua Tree NP on Christmas Eve in 2016 -without reservations! It was magical with solar LED lights spread around the campsites, folks with guitars playing Christmas carols and on Christmas Day, I awoke to a dusting of snow! One of my fondest camping memories outside of my frequent trips to Alaska.
Thanks for all the videos. We own a 2018 Pleasure Way Ascent. We're headed out your way in December from Michigan on our way to Portland, Oregon for our family Christmas. Taking the southern route then up through California to avoid the snowing northern mountains. Maybe some day we'll cross paths. Again thanks for sharing!
In the planning stage, but Pleasure Way Torfino is at the top of my list, since its just me, it seems to fit me (a minimalist and bare bones kinda gal LOL) So enjoy your channel,, thanks for all you share !
Wow, I lost count of all the great tips! My van is a 17' Coachmen Traveler. It's vintage. It was the smallest self-contained production van I could find. Now I also have a recumbent trike with 2" tires, so your e-bike tour route looks like a good place for it.
We have a 2013 Winnebago ERA that we just purchased a month ago. We had a lot of repairs to do, but have taken one overnight trip a few hours away to test the repairs. Will be taking a little longer 2 day trip next week and plan on a 30 day trip to Florida and Texas in December.
2019 Hymer 1.0. It’s just my dog and me. We are full-timers and we have plenty of space. I wanted a shorter van, a full time bed,a usable bathroom and a front sitting area. I love my home!
2019 Winnebago Revel. We chose it because it provides flexibility for multiple potential uses. To elaborate a little, the 4 main considerations for us were: 1. The new short wheel base 4 wheel drive Mercedes chassis. 2. The winter weather capability. 3. A real bed that doesn't have to be made and unmade every day. 4. The extreme flexibility of how the space in the back can be used. So far our plan for this vehicle is working. We can sleep in it comfortably and we have used it to haul a bunch of stuff like you would with a regular van. I was able to sell my SUV which is not longer needed. But we are just getting started and time will tell how it really works out. It isn't perfect. What I am hoping is that we see more European influence on small motor home design going forward.
We've narrowed our search down to the Travato KL or Pleasure Way Lexor FL so far. We're looking for a B in the 21 foot max range so parking won't be an issue when we go full time. Thank you for all of the information you share!
I truly enjoy your videos! Excellent content and presentation. Always fun to see what new mods or tweaking you’ve done. We love our 2018 Northstar Arrow Truck camper on a 2017 Ram Megacab SRW 4x4 Longhorn with 20 inch wheels. Comfy for me and 6’2” hubby. We haul inflatable Hobie kayaks in the truck and have a rear carrier for firewood and misc. and a front hitch for a small motorcycle. 6’8 inch ceiling height... lots of thermal insulated windows for light and nice wet bath, separate bedroom and dining table, large fridge with separate freezer and no gennie needed as the solar and Lifeline 6 volts handle our needs nicely. We go for months at a time and don’t get claustrophobic... and still enjoy each others company😁! Well built and handles all weather...tested -4 to 95 so far. Northstar is a family owned company out of Iowa since 1961. Great customer service and they will let you customize. I am not affiliated or getting a kickback (I wish). I am super pleased with them and our setup. We almost went the van route but liked the openness and extra space in the truck camper/truck combo and the 4x4 truck capability has saved us on a few occasions. Also easy to find service for a Ram diesel just about anywhere. Total length is 22-6” not including motorcycle 🏍. We loved Joshua Tree. Got lucky and got a primo site first come in early March. Some fun hikes on the rocks!
Great video. We have a 30ft Outdoors Manufacturing Blackstone Travel Trailer pulled with Dodge Diesel PU. We lived in it on the road for 1.5 years travelling the West states. We are looking to add a Class B for shorter travels or areas a Class B would be more agile and stealth. Waiting to see the PW On Tour with AWD. We live in N Idaho and want a B we can use all year not only in good weather. Also the Boldt is on our list. Thanks
Hello and thank you for making great videos! We have a sprinter van 144, 4x4, high roof, which was converted in part by a Mercedes master outfitter (electrical and plumbing) and in part by our own furniture and product design company. We decided to take on this project because we felt that as much as the RV industry has benefitted from new technology such as solar power, the furniture in shorter van like ours could be more ergonomic and the bed/dinette system could be improved so that making and taking down the bed would not be such an ordeal ( this included designing a special bottom sheet) . We also needed one side of the bed to be long enough to accomodate my husband who is 6’5”. In addition we wanted a bathroom (with shower) that would be comfortable to use and have its own sink (a fold out) but not take up too much room when not in use, so we set out to design one. While we are able to use the van, we are still working on some details but are hoping to be fully finished and to be able to show it by March 2020. We are so excited about this project that In the process of working on it, we came to think that maybe we should open a new branch of our company dedicated to campervan design and conversion and we can’t wait to see what people response will be to our first build.
I had a 2003 Fleetwood Flair which was taken on a trips to Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. Just traded it in for a 2018 Airstream Interstate Lounge for my son and I to take on shorter trips and to his basketball games.
You can get 12v electric blankets that way you aren't loosing 20% power running through inverter. And there's no risk of electrocution like with 110vac blankets. The ones with variable heat settings and a timer seem the way to go. But its healthier to just use something warm like good down comforter.
Thank you for your fun & informative videos. We have a 2018 MB 170” 4x4 Sprinter van, outfitted by Sportsmobile West. Took delivery of ‘Ludwig’ in Jan 2019 & have driven him >20k miles so far. We took ‘im over to Agile for the RIP pkg & a BASS horn🎺. We love our van & so do our dogs! 🚐💨💨
Our bathroom is 39x24. We chose a porta potti for the toilet. We have a tiny corner sink whose faucet doubles as the showerhead. My husband is 6’3” & can use all of the facilities. We are quite happy with our choices and looking forward to many more adventures. (driving home in snow on Thanksgiving Day!❄️). Thanks for your lovely videos. I am about to watch the one about buying a used Pleasureway-🚐💨💨💨
Love the video Debbie! As always another amazing video! The Mrs and I plan to be there in January. We are flying into Vegas and taking almost the same route you took, other than we are adding Death Valley in the route and starting from Vegas. We camp in ENO hammocks using the ENO Solopod hammock frames for car camping. Over the summer we did North and South Dakota and loved them. The only negative thing is they are very heavy, around 60lbs. Since we are flying, we have changed over to the ENO Nomad hammock shelter system, weight around 15lbs. I hope to do a video on them like we did for our Solopods in Badlands NP/Theodore Roosevelt NP. Once we used the ENO Solopods, we decided we would never tent camp again. They are so comfortable and easily a campground conversation starter as half the campground came by trying to figure out what we were camping in.
We have the 2018 Pleasureway Ascent, and love it. Researched for months before purchasing at the Tampa RV Show. Perfect size for daily use as well as camping. Thank you so much for all your videos.
We have down sized from a 37' fifth wheel to a 24'9" Leisure Travel Van, and have just returned home after being out for three months. Down sized for the purpose of traveling more. Our 5er was what we called our destination rig, camp hosting and other volunteering opportunities where we would stay in one place from one to four mounts. Love the nimbleness of the LTV.
30’ fifth wheel Outdoor RV. Built for four season and off road. High raised and extra good shocks etc. we love camping in our homestate of Colorado but I really need to go part time so we can start traveling further!!! Every summer we try to do a new park. Summer 2020 we plan on Jasper and Banff!! I guess I will say I would love to travel in van but my husband will not 😞. He says its not enough room for him. Ill take what I can get !! 😂
We own a 2008 PW Ascent, it is the last of the pre DEF models and just love travelling in it expecially when we can leave Canada behind in the winter. Enjoy sharing the experiences you are having in yours as you tour North America.
I am looking to purchase a Class B that needs to be 20 ft in length or less because our home is a condo with HOA rules. Further, I like the small RVs because of their size making them more flexible, easy to maneuver, etc! They just make sense for my needs! I’m looking at Pleasureway, but am open to other brands that I’ll be exploring at the Tampa RV show in Jan 2020
Thanks! I've been thinking of a spring time camping meet up in SoCal some place. If that interests you, send me an email and I'll add you to the list. energymaven@gmail.com
2019 diy promaster. Chose it because it will just fit the Going to the Sun highway in Glacier NP, and will fit many of the National Parks with roads built by CCC. Also, front wheel drive for New England winters, though I am really tired of the cold, wet weather 🙂
We have had a lot of different types of rv’s through the years from just the back of a pickup and tents, to tent trailer, fifth wheel, to class A. Now we are happy in our class B RoadTrek Zion since it is so easy to drive and visit those most fun places like the national Parks. We do enjoy our ebikes, too.
Coachman Class B year 2019. The reason for Class B is to visit civil war sites, spend a night camping then move on to next civil war attraction. We usually only spend one or two nights at a camp ground.
Thanks for the video! I have a 1960 Airstream that I restored years ago. It’s 28 feet. I’m looking to replace my tow vehicle with a van so when I’m solo, I’ll just take the van. When the kids come or it’s a rally, I’ll tow the Airstream with the van. 👍
We are having a 21 foot Promaster high top converted professionally into a full time home. All electric the plan incorporates sailboat living combined with factory plans we’ve seen that appeal to us.
Have been watching since your first few postings. Want very badly Pleasureway Ascent - same as yours with the same e-bike setup/spare tire. But need to wait a few more years until retirement. (Maybe 5-10 years!) Thanks for all the posts and looking forward to this series as I live close by in LA.
Oh yea that,s easy to do, here is what we have 2015 SS Agile Roadtrek with solar pkg. We like it but we need it to be a little more comfortable. So we want a custom made rv with the priority being a lift a bed that is 6' 3" long that is fully made all the time and lifts to the ceiling with a table and bench seats for four people underneath. The rest is mostly getting rid of things that do not work well the generator, awning, AC and black water tank. To get everything we want we must build it on the Mercedes 170 chassis.
Yes, I really like the idea of the lift bed and dinette below. I should have given that more consideration in my build out. I am on the east coast so don't have as many options in terms of companies that can do that.
i travel in a 2017 gmc savana 2500 cargo van that i converted into a camper van. my plans for the van is to put a pop top roof on it to be able to stand up inside. also i would like to purchase a small toy hauler to use as a home base.
Thank you for your great site! My husband and have decided on a 2020 PW Luxor FL and plan on purchasing on this spring. We live in Hawaii, (Hawaii island) and will be storing it at different dealer's (we have been told it is doable, by a friend whom also lives in Hawaii), when back home. We chose the FL model so that we can keep bed made up. We have done nine 4-6 wks each- vacations in campers, (Australia and New Zealand as they are easier for us to travel to). We now want to see our country and Canada. Most of our down under trips were in van size campers, but the last trip to Tasmania was in a Class B Mercedes Sprinter and we are spoiled!! Love all your organization ideas and the bedding!! Do you recommend we rent one first? Mahalo! Bertha Basabe
Wow, what great adventures you have had. Renting before buying is always a great option except that it sounds like you have already traveled in camper vans so understand the space limitations. But renting from Canadream would be a great option if you want to check out the Lexor model. I understand they book fast so make your plans early.
we have an almost 28' Outdoors RV Black Rock 23BKS 2018 travel trailer towed by a 2017 Ford Expedition so we're 45' total. We are at our max tow capacity and are considering buying a 3/4 ton diesel truck and possibly a 5th wheel but want to stay around 30' since that seems to be a good length to get into FS, SP, NP campgrounds.
I really enjoy your videos. Very informative and cheerful. I just purchased a 17 ft Casita travel trailer. I live in the Bay Area and plan to explore Arizona, Utah and Colorado to start as well as revisiting some of my favorite California campgrounds which I have tent camped at in the past.
The "girls" and l drove thru the park south to north and it is huge with many facinating sections you go thru. There is a great military myseum outside the south entrance; Gen. George Patton Museum a must see for sure.
Can you Please explain why you didn’t like Black Rock Canyon Campground. My wife and I hike and backpack on a regular basis and we used Black Rock Campground as launching pad for our hikes and back packing adventures back in April of this year. There are plenty of great trails to access, views to be had and the ability to backpack into other areas of the park from Black Rock Campground. It actually offers more availability for campers, small RV’s and trailers than any of the other campgrounds we looked at, even though we tent camp. We too stayed at Jumbo Rocks Campground and We loved it as well. Each campground provides its own unique personality. Did you stay in Cottonwood Campground? It’s pretty barren and really doesn’t have much to offer at all in comparison to all of the other campgrounds in the park. Just wondering why Black Rock was your least favorite of all?
As someone else who likes it shared with me, it used to be a KOA campground and was acquired by the park service. It seemed run down and in need of TLC as most of our parks do. The fact that you can still see the remnants of hookups and other infrastructure, gave it the appearance of being in disrepair. And if someone has the choice of places to stay, I think there are better options. It is not my "least" favorite as we have not stayed at all the campgrounds, Cottonwood being one of them. I also don't think it is desirable having to enter and exit the park if you are camped outside the entrance station. There can be a line up of cars trying to get in and then you also have to show your pass as you exit.

Thanks. Sounds like your rig is decked out with all Agile's goodies.
I bought a brand new 2017 GMC Savana 2500 van two years ago and built it out myself as an Adventure/Surf/RV. I'm sure I've seen your rig many times.
We have a 1973 Superior Coach Class B on a one ton Chevy Van. We have had it for 20 years and have visited every state you can drive to, and much of Canada too. For sure. I don't know how folks with dogs do it.
Thank you!
2002 Lance truck camper 1062 on a 2017 Ram dually 4X4. It holds alot of water and can fit in regular parking spots. I love Joshua tree.
Never slept in a tent or RV but I am an avid watcher of your channel. It shows me the opportunities I had but never took advantage of because of being too busy.
It's never too late. In fact, some of the USFS campgrounds now have Yurts which is a great option for those who don't have RVs or tents.
Come out west and you'll be comfortable in no time!
Lol. Not quite ready to take my foot off the base
I think the cyclist I interviewed (coming video) said he had a similar rig. I had never heard of Fiat vans before that.
@@FromShetoMe Doesn't Fiat Ducato sell as RAM Promaster in the USA?
@@camperab LOL. You're right. I've never understood the need to call it something else in another country.
We have a Minnie Winnie 22r which is 24 ft. Long. A small class c Winnebago with no pop outs. We love it. We also always take our Rad Power e-bikes!
So true!
2020 Pleasure Way Pateau TS, living in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. New to traveling in our van since April. Your videos are so helpful for us...thank you.
Thank you!
I love watching the bus conversions on youtube.
Pleasure-way Plateau 2012. ~23 foot. We are on a 5 month excursion to the sunshine. Arizona, ect.
Seems to be a common theme.
My golden retriever and I have a 2014 Roadtrek Popular 210. It’s just right for us.
1998 Roadtrek which we bought last year. It served us well on a long trip last summer, and we hope to fulltime in it soon, after a few mods.
We have the PleasureWay XLTS and really the 22.5 foot length and the extra room of the wider van.
We are in a 2015 PW Lexor TS (pre-LiPO). Just passed over 70K miles. Beginning our third cross country trip after Thanksgiving.
Oops . . . beginning our 4th cross country trip.
Airstream Tommy Bahama 19f. I love your videos.
Thank you for that tip. We will be heading that direction in January/February and will check it out!
2017 Leisure Travel Van IB and we love it! We will be adventuring out in March for a cross country trip to visit friends and family.
Another interesting video. Thankyou. We have an Alto 1743 from Safari Condo. Lightweight (1750 lbs) fully-equipped caravan with huge windows and modern design.
I love those. Great design.
Are your tenting days over? Would you consider an RV in New Zealand?
Sounds magical.
Yes, be sure to get in touch if you are coming through.
Congratulations on your video production.
I have a 1995 Fleetwood bounder it's 39 ft long - an oldie but a goodie
Eurocamper.com sells 12v heated blankets. Works pretty good too.
2018- 20 foot Roadtreck, Thanks for the posts, always looking for great ideas. heading to Palm springs for the holidays
Thank you so much for taking us on your journey to this park!
Thank you! I love learning about new vehicles and how they are being used.
Thanks
Yes, AWD would be nice for winter travel.
Awesome!
I hope I get to see your build. Sounds perfect.
From She to Me for sure we would like to show it to you Debbie. We also think it will be pretty perfect ;)
That's good to know. My intention was just to pre-warm the bed.
New Zealand built 25ft Sprinter 519. Love it. Can drive the whole country in 48hrs lol.
Since we did look at Sportsmobile, I'm curious what kind of bathroom/toilet you ended up with. Wow, 20k miles in 11 months.
I would love to see them in action. Send me a link if you do the video. Enjoy DV, it is one of our favorite places.
2020 Coachmen Beyond. Love traveling in it. Getting use to small living area while stationery.
2016 Winnebago View, just right for my wife, cat and me.
Looks like a great place to visit, like so many of the national parks I have been to. Thanks again ❤
Weekdays only. Weekends are a zoo.
We have the 2018 Pleasureway Ascent, and love it. Researched for months before purchasing at the Tampa RV Show. Perfect size for daily use as well as camping. Thank you so much for all your videos.
We have a Pleasure-Way Lexor FL and a Foretravel. We are full timers.
We just purchased a 2019 Roadtrek Zion SRT. It is 19’7”. We love you the ease of getting into smaller spots.
I bought a 2015 Winnebago ERA 70A last March. I love the twin bed set up, the large fridge, and the MB diesel power.
We also have a Pleasureway Van but the Plateau TS. Thank you for posting this video. Joshua Tree is on our travel must see list!
2020 Ascent, we love it’s size and maneuverability.
We own a 2008 PW Ascent, it is the last of the pre DEF models and just love travelling in it expecially when we can leave Canada behind in the winter. Enjoy sharing the experiences you are having in yours as you tour North America.
One of these days I'll probably do an episode on DEF. What a racket that appears to be.
Thanks for the very informative video. We have a somewhat rare 2004 Xplorer 230 XLW campervan that is 21' long on a Dodge 3500 chassis.
2020 Pleasure Way Plateau FL, live just south of you, new to traveling in our van! Your videos have been so great!
Thanks! I've been thinking of a spring time camping meet up in SoCal some place. If that interests you, send me an email and I'll add you to the list. energymaven@gmail.com
We just purchased a Coachmen Beyond 22D. Love your vids and tips. you are getting better every time.
Thank you. I have my ups and downs but just try to trend better.
2019 diy promaster. Chose it because it will just fit the Going to the Sun highway in Glacier NP, and will fit many of the National Parks with roads built by CCC. Also, front wheel drive for New England winters, though I am really tired of the cold, wet weather 🙂
Yes, last year we had to remove our bikes to drive on that road.
2015 Roadtrek Adventurous CSXL. Perfect floor plan for how we use it, including storage for golf clubs.
LOL. That's the best reason I've ever heard to buy a bigger rig! If I'd only known.
2018 16 ft Mars 5 Imagine on a Ram Promaster 1500 with pop top like a modern Westfalia.
2019 Winnebago Travato 59G. Have had it for over a year and love it. Looked at Pleasure Way but liked the permanent dinette and large bathroom.
This is the best explanation/guide I’ve seen on RUclips. Can you make a video like this for all the other parks? Lol
LOL is right!
We just missed you, had an overnight stay at Indian Cove Campground, just beautiful! Next time you visit, stop by Boo's Organic Oven, amazing breads!
Bread is my weakest link. Will check them out next time.
Coachman Class B year 2019. The reason for Class B is to visit civil war sites, spend a night camping then move on to next civil war attraction. We usually only spend one or two nights at a camp ground.
I'm thinking of getting a Leisure Way with the island bed as I like the idea of been able to have a separate bedroom.
Wow. Who doesn't love Airstream...especially vintage!
2020 Revel.... Almost got a Ascent last year but opted for garage space and 4x4 in the Revel.
We are having a 21 foot Promaster high top converted professionally into a full time home. All electric the plan incorporates sailboat living combined with factory plans we’ve seen that appeal to us.
What model fridge do you have?
Norcold compressor fridge
Have been watching since your first few postings. Want very badly Pleasureway Ascent - same as yours with the same e-bike setup/spare tire.
But need to wait a few more years until retirement. (Maybe 5-10 years!)
Thanks for all the posts and looking forward to this series as I live close by in LA.
I think I have found a small company that can accomplish the bed build :Happy Jack lift a bed).
@@johnpuccetti6019 Thanks John, much appreciated
i travel in a 2017 gmc savana 2500 cargo van that i converted into a camper van. my plans for the van is to put a pop top roof on it to be able to stand up inside. also i would like to purchase a small toy hauler to use as a home base.
Yes, we ran into a couple who were 35' combined length and they were too long.
Is that the size Drivin and Vibin had?
The "girls" and l drove thru the park south to north and it is huge with many facinating sections you go thru. There is a great military myseum outside the south entrance; Gen. George Patton Museum a must see for sure.
Yes, we stopped there last year. They are part of Harvest Host as well. I'll put you down as a 2008 Ascent. ;-))
2004 Roadtrek 190P (just under 21' long)
Can you Please explain why you didn’t like Black Rock Canyon Campground.
From She to Me thank you for your response.
We have a 25’ Sprinter Citation. We love it! And we had a RIP package installed by Agile. Thank you for all the helpful videos!
