    We had planned to be in Death Valley this week, 1/15 -1/20 but COVID shut down the California again! We will make it there one day with our friend who was a park ranger there and he has Mansion family stories that he told in a book he wrote Ranger Stories, True Stories From Behind the Ranger Image. His name is Michael John Meyer and his book is available on Amazon. Looking forward to your brother’s Mansion stories.

      Wow what a small world! I have the book and shared it with my brother. Was interesting to see what the Ranger was experiencing at the same time my brother was going out there. My brother also had a scary experience when he ran into Tex Watson on another trip.

    Hey! Owen resembles that guy. 😂 Deb, you may have to take over the entertainment downloading... if John is grabbing old music videos of mine you guys are getting close to the bottom of the internet. Seriously, what an awesome video. There’s not a video of yours that we watch where we don’t look at each other and say... aaaaaah... This one was no different. From the cooking, the daily routines and John’s sense of humor (cheap soup)... it all makes us smile and say... aaaaah. Much love from Mr. and Mrs. Happy Dance in NC. Soon... soon... can’t wait.

    A touch of geography and history makes for a well rounded video. I persuaded my wife to dump the onboard TV and watch movies on the laptop. We have tons of power in our van but the huge clumsy wall mounted tv seemed silly. One small thing I was right about which she grudgingly admitted. The rest of the van design is brilliant all credit to Layne.

    • @FromShetoMe

      Yes, the TV mount is weird and it sticks out into the living space. But I have an ulterior motive which is to use a better TV for video editing on the road.

    Oh no you don't get off that easy we have to here the story of your brothers meeting with Manson. Oh Helter Skelter stories and the hippies in California were mind boggling to this midwestern. There was a Folger coffee plant as you crossed the river in Kansas City where just about anytime you were there you could smell them roasting the coffee, it was pure heaven. So when Abigail Folger was one of those murdered it seemed even more real. Oh please get your brother to share his thoughts of meeting that family. Your raisin bread look sooo good.

    All I can add is a butter hack. Rather than trying to spread cold butter just take a glass or ceramic bowl, fill with hot water and let sit for a bit. Pour the water out ( we dump it into the dish basin we use to wash dishes) and invert the bowl over the butter taking a bit of care to not touch butter to bowl or you get melt. Again, let sit for a bit. Wa La, soft, spreadable butter.

    We were in Death Valley late December and also stayed at the pads! they were pretty crowded then. Good in a pinch but not for more than a night! We had planned to be around the park for a few days but it got windy and our LP refrigerator went out and the sparker wouldn't relite so we came home. We have the Era 170 and it will go in February 1st for full service in preparation for our annual 4 month summer trip. I bought the Omnia due to your recommendation, have the cup holder you showed for the bedroom on order and copied a couple of your hacks and now the bread maker is tempting me! Love your channel but I'm running out of storage space! LOL!!

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  3 года назад +1

      Yes, it's easy to go overboard. I've used the bread maker a ton here at home. I've been making jam in it with frozen berries. They make a newer model that might have better features; it was a bit more expensive. There is only one adjustment to reduce the cooking time which I find I have to do on all the breads/cakes.

    Hi Debbie, I found your channel last weekend. I’m looking to buy the Rad Power Bike RadWagon. I had been watching videos on the RadWagon when RUclips suggested your video about your bikes. I really enjoyed that video and then went down the rabbit hole and sat and watch all of the Alaska series. I don’t own an RV and cannot drive due a vision impairment but I love your videos. Every night after work this week I would watch a couple of videos and it’s so relaxing.
    I live in Colorado and just watched your video, Colorado: Old and New Memories. I love to see someone else’s perspective on the place I call home. I used to own a home in Pagosa Springs, so it was nice seeing Wolf Creek Pass.
    I also have a drone, I have the Mavic Mini. Just keep flying it, it gets easier.
    I wasn’t interested in buying an InstaPot till I watched your recipe video.
    Anyway, thank you for providing a wonderful place to learn and to escape from daily life. Keep up the great work!

      Thank you Anna. You're very sweet. But you must have a strong stomach--especially watching some of my older videos. This has been a hard craft to learn but still enjoyable, especially when I have such wonderful viewers like you.
      I "raced" a guy on a RadWagon last year. He had his son on the back and had modified it so that it could go faster. But we were racing up a hill and I knew I'd beat him. I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever bike you get from RAD. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

    We enjoy your channel very much.
    Since you've had your spare tire carrier for a while now, do you have any regrets about not going with a spare tire carrier/ladder combination?
    We have an Airstream Interstate 19 on order and, needing a spare tire carrier, are facing the with-or-without-ladder choice. We're about the same age as you guys and there is no room for storage on the Interstate roof. The ladder would just be for very occasional debris removal or solar panel cleaning access...which I suppose could be accomplished just fine with a ladder at home between trips.

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  3 года назад

      We didn't have that as an option when we got ours. If we could still use our Trasharoo with the addition of a ladder, it might be something we would have done but as you point out, there are limited use cases for it. And at home, we can just pull out a ladder. Of course you could use it to hang wet clothes from.

    With size and electrical power considerations in your diminutive RV, instead of searching for a 20ish inch 12 volt TV, why not get a small video projector that plugs into and can mirror your smart phone or tablet or pc (or thumb drives, etc.)? Some of these tiny projectors come with internal rechargeable batteries. You can keep your present TV and use the projector to show movies or videos inside or outside to a small or enormously large size screen (that rolls up for minuscule storage).

We download from Netflix to our large iPad and set it on a tray that fits between our twin beds. We recharge our devices when we have full sun or when we are underway so there is no concern about running down the house batteries.

    Thanks for another interesting video! We noticed that your front passenger seat does not appear to be "leather," which is great! Did you put on custom seat covers, and if so, what kind? We have leather seat covers in our Airstream Interstate but we find they are uncomfortable in warm weather because they don't breathe. A quality fabric seat cover that we could put over it would be a welcome relief.

    Tv power issue had been bugging me for a while like you stated in your video and decided to look into what could be a solution and found a 12 v to 19 v voltage converter on Amazon.
    LIVISN DC 12V (9V-17V) Step-Up to DC 19V 3A 57W Waterproof Car Power Supply Module Voltage Booster Converter Regulator www.amazon.com/dp/B08CTZ5F6N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_VrlcGbR3XXYFT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
    Basically tap the unit’s power supply to the Winegard antenna’s 12v cable behind the antenna controller. Cut the power supply adaptor to the Tv and splice the wires together. Now the Tv can be powered on without the inverter.
