  • AIP Paleo Meal Prep - In this video I show you how I quickly and EASILY prep 6 meals in less than an hour - with NO COOKING - that can be stored in your freezer for a busy or low energy time. These meals are Paleo-compliant and AIP-compliant (Autoimmune Protocol) and serve 4-6 people - family-friendly too!
    **The You Can Do AIP Challenge has been changed - it's now a live (and better) challenge that is run only a few times a year. However, if you want the AIP Freezer Meal Plan I mention in this video, you can still get that by going here: thrivingautoimmune.lpages.co/...

      Thanks! No, I've never had an issue with honey but I know a few who have had at least temporary issues. You could always change the honey out for maple syrup or coconut sugar if those don't bother you or just omit it as well.

    Most silicone bags out there are 104 fl. ounces instead of a gallon. Would that be enough to fill with these recipes or it would end up being too small?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  Год назад

      Interesting, I didn't know they weren't a gallon as I thought that's what I've purchased. That being said, I've done most of my freezer cooking lately with the silicone bags and they've been fine...

    Hello I did your freezer meals tonight. Since I'm only cooking for two, I ended up with about 14 meals. We had the pineapple hamburgers tonight, and my husband loved it, so I think you have a customer. I'm going to check out your website and see what else you got. I am starting paleo and I love cooking in the Crock-Pot anything that's dump and go

    Hello!
    Do you get all of your meat/ groceries at Kings Soopers, is it organic? Thanks so much for the video!! 😊

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  4 года назад

      Yes, I got all of them from KS (maybe not the fish though? That was already in my freezer - could have been from Costco). Most of them are organic but the pork isn't. I sometimes compromise on the pork just because the good stuff is hard to find near me and it costs a LOT of money if I can find it.

  • @aprilmae137

    How well does it turn out with freshly adding spices vs freezing them beforehand? Have you noticed a difference in quality of taste at all?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  4 года назад +1

      I don't notice a taste difference with spices or any pantry ingredients (things like honey, coconut aminos, etc). I DO notice a bit of a difference in texture and flavor of some of fresh ingredients, like anything that usually doesn't freeze well like fresh zucchini, etc - but usually can get around that by putting them in the slow cooker. The texture of something like that would change no matter what in a slow cooker, so that's why this method of prepping/cooking is so great for a slow cooker or Instant Pot. It's just not the best for something that you'd want super fresh and to saute in a pan when done. Hopefully that makes sense?

    • @aprilmae137
      @aprilmae137 4 года назад +1

      @@MicheleSpring Yes perfect sense! Thank you for the quick reply! :) I'm always weary of freezing some ingredients (like you said fresh ingredients), but I think I'll make up some freezer recipes now! I'm guessing you add any additional oils right before cooking?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  4 года назад

      @@aprilmae137 it depends on the way you're planning to cook it - most you just dump without having to add any extra oils, etc, but if you need to saute it then you'd add more (I rarely have saute meals though, just a few. I'm lazy so I hate standing over a stove, haha!) There are a few recipes where you'd add some fresh ingredients right before serving (like in my Thai Chicken Soup you add fresh herbs: thrivingonpaleo.com/aip-thai-chicken-soup-cook-now-or-freeze-for-later/ ) But yeah, usually it's just dump, cook, and add a side dish if necessary.

    Could these meals be cooked in a pressure cooker for a fast meal?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  4 года назад +1

      yep - most of the meals I give at least 2-3 methods of cooking. If they're a slow cooker recipe then I give the pressure cooker (Instant Pot) directions as well. The only ones that don't typically have pressure cooker instructions are the ones that go in an oven or only need to be cooked on a stove for a few minutes.

    I'm new to AIP. If I make a dish and use white potatoes because my husband eat differently. If I cook them in the pot with all the other foods, but I don't eat the white potato is that AIP acceptable?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  2 года назад +1

      eh, that's a really good question. The technically "right" answer would be no, it wouldn't be acceptable because there could be a lot of cross-contamination between the white potato and the items you eat. So if you want to do it "right" then I'd cook his in another pot. However, I know how impractical that is in real life and how like if you're cooking something in a slow cooker you aren't exactly going to get out 2 slow cookers just to cook his potatoes. So my advice would be that if you can't separate them while cooking, really pay attention to how you feel after eating them. If you notice while on AIP you aren't getting better after 6 weeks, you might have to get a lot "cleaner" and remove the cross-contamination issues like this and continue on for another few weeks to see if it gets better. And I will note that if you are doing AIP for arthritis or skin-related issue the nightshades may cause you more issues than some other autoimmune diseases as well. I mean, anyone could be sensitive to them, but many with pain find that removing nightshades like white potatoes are the best thing they've done and cross-contamination like this would still probably cause you issues. Hopefully that makes sense?

    Where do you find the best deals on organic, pasture raised meats?

    • @MicheleSpring
      @MicheleSpring  4 года назад +3

      I really like US Wellness (grasslandbeef.com/ ) but I also look for sales at my local markets too. That's one reason why this sort of cooking is so great - if I go to the store and find pastured beef chuck on sale I'll buy 3 of them and then come home and prep 3 of these meals - 2 to freeze and one to have now. Hopefully that makes sense.

    All of the meals looked to be protein heavy, not a lot of vegetables at all. It looked like you were just marinating meat which is a good thing but hardly a full healthy meal and how do these cook up. Maybe this isn't what I'm looking for. Good luck.
