In my day, ladies went to a finishing school before university as you were taught how to dress for a successful professional life. Nothing to do with being French ..... Simply a case of classic. These outfits are very close to those lessons. My Grandmother would have also added that a great leather bag, gloves, and a pretty lipstick are a necessity!
Absolutely! I'm a product of ballet, charm, and finishing school! These styles are very normal for me, and as you stated, has nothing to do with being French. They're actually typical looks that are very natural for me.❤
Seems like we should bring back the finishing school! I'm old enough to remember them, too. They were not only fun and educational for young girls/ladies, but they were aspirational, as well. Everyone likes to feel good about the way they look, and knowing how to present yourself well is a huge part of that. Doesn't hurt to know which fork to use, either!😊
Having a throw out with clothes at the moment. Finished work retired & am recycling three quarters of my clothes. Many pieces never worn so many will benefit in thrift shops. On my first trip to Hawaii 15 years ago the exchange rate was $ for $ with the Aus dollar. Everything was on sale, classic linen pants & various designer clothing. Thanksgiving sales were amazing. Just never liked jeans on women over 70 (my age group) but seeing them paired with the jacket & T changed my mind. Worn that combination myself in the late 80's & had forgotten how good that looks. One never worn classic semi fitted Calvin Klein black jacket has just been rescued from the Hawaii collection with a pair of Anne Talbot lined black linen pants. I'm realising that because at my age one often appears invisible to others I have to stop feeling invisible in myself. Very inspiring vlog, would love to see more like this. Your taste is impeccable.
The first morning of my retirement was spent bagging up every last item of clothing in my work wardrobe. A total of 12 large trash bags! It was intensely liberating.
Hi Nikol ❤and all you lady's here.... Just bought 3 blazers...red/black a mint green and a Blue pied de poule. They are from More and more which is German fashion and with my black pants they look amazing. Thanks Nikol for making us look awsome💋
It is so nice when an elegant lady like yourself gives me that extra confidence with the four out of five outfits I already use, now I must invest in that pencil skirt .. thank you Nikol, p.s. I just love your short videos and the music you choose.
This is just the video I needed for looking sharp and pulled together for a day out shopping or runner errands yet looking classy! Thank you so much! 🌸👍😊
I love wearing a tee with jeans and my Chico’s jean jacket. I am all about comfort these days. Wearing a chic boot or sneakers is my vibe. I just bought some pink converse sneakers and I am sixty-three! I have thin lace socks with flowers that I love to wear as well. Thanks for all the tips!
I love simple and classic. I save all my blazers, individual jackets and suit jackets. They are very versatile and you can pair them in many ways. ❤❤ Thank you Nikol for sharing; loved this segment. ❤❤
Thank You for reminding us to get back to basics and wear what works for us and keep it simple and add a little pop if you want, but this is so great! Love them all! 😊
I use to go with a similar type vibe and I need to get back to that. I finally got over my “teenage years”😂 (73 now) want to get back to a more put together old lady look. I hate dressing old but those formulas work for any age.
I have both Escada and St John and I consider them to be very good brands, these brands are never mentioned in the market but they are of high quality.
Haven’t watched this video yet, but one of your “shorts” just popped up on my cellphone. No wonder you were a Ford model at such a young age!!!You’re such a sassy girl with PERSONALITY‼️‼️‼️. Kudos to your career and for being an advocacy for speaking up for us mature gals‼️ Can’t wait for ALL videos you produce for us mature women who still want to look okay at our age‼️. God bless you for giving up the time you take to educate us‼️‼️‼️‼️
OMG! I’ve had these kinds of pieces for decades! I’m 65 now, and these kinds of staples work for all ages, too, and if they are good quality they can be worn for years. The most economical way to plan a wardrobe is to focus on timeless staples of great quality.
Yes, finishing school here. Always dress with a blazer suit look. I felt finished. We have gotten more relaxed, but would still dress professionally for work. I love it.
Thanks for the validation… I’ve been wearing these combinations for years & you’re so right, they’re easy, classy & fun! Also, they’re easy to care for so that they always look fresh! You’re so gorgeous, Nikol… I always look forward to your videos & tutorials! Also love your beautiful consignment finds, I which you look like a Queen!😘
Oh Nikol!! I love all of your videos. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. But this one is especially interesting and helpful. Exactly the tips I needed currently. Thank you!!
Of course, you look beautiful and classy in everything, because that’s what you are, and also very intelligent, kind, compassionate, elegant, artistic, and hip. We love you. There are a lot of “influencers” out there, but you’re a good one. You have great taste, every outfit you present is both lovely and versatile. I can only imagine your closet, must look like Neimann Marcus. Appreciate your channel very much. God bless you, and your family, precious pups too.
So true about having key pieces in our wardrobe!!! I love a tailored pair of black trousers and a well fitted pencil skirt. Never go wrong with them!! Can't wait for the next fashion video!!! Bravo Nikol!!!
I always loved the black pants/white shirt look. Then, I changed employment where the uniform was, you guessed it. I've never worn that look since as I always feel as if I am going to work. 😢
You always look so polished Nikol. I love the basic pieces that can make a wardrobe interchangeable. I have the classic navy blazer and I like to pair it with a white button down or one that is pinstriped. I've purchased some nice blouses from Banana Republic. Since I work remotely from home, I find myself in leggings and a cotton T-shirt most of the time. My clothes are not getting worn.....guess I'm in a fashion rut! Great video as always.
Perfect timing! I am going to Paris next month and trying to do a capsule wardrobe, so I can bring back some French shoes and clothes. Blazers solve so many problems. I'm definitely getting a Breton sweater for Fall/Winter. Thanks for all the fun looks!
I've certainly left the house in something I wish I'd never worn! My go to is dark jeans (indigo or black), with a bright colored tee or sweater. I don't always grab the blazer, but you've inspired me to do that more often! I've stayed away from the classic white shirt for years, because white washed me out.....but since going silver, I've discovered many colors work now that didn't before! Thanks for another great video & do remember to take care of YOU. 🌹
Great looks that are so interchangeable and classic. My go-to is always a crisp white shirt and black pants & black flats. I usually prefer a slightly cropped slack with a side cutout and a shirt that is a little cropped. I like little extra details since I usually wear solids. ❤😊
I’m about to turn 60 and boy do I need this help! You know the feeling…too old for certain outfits but feeling too young for other outfits…and being in a limited budget..I’m trying to use what I already have in different ways.. I just found this channel and I’m hopeful it will help!
Been, watching these types. Of videos. Felt I wanted to be dressing in a more classic fashion, now that covid is hopefully winding down and I can get out more often. Purchased, a couple of blazers, stripped shirts, button down shirts. Not as high end as your closet finds, but still within my budget. Thank you for your fashion advice!!!
Covid winding down? Why let a good crisis go to waste? They are banging that old drum again with "new variant" fear mongering to see who will fall for the mask and jab mandates again. Resist!
Very helpful Nicole. I recently lost 54 pds due to a health issue and am turning 60 in Nov. Looking for an easy more classic look. This totally suits me. Thanks very much. Love from Toronto
I remarried in 1985!! That decade was charmed for me! I loved the fashion then. “Your uniform” is mine too! I’m heavier now and looking for a blazer that fits me. Love black trousers-Escada is so special!! 🌹🌹
A vintage Talbots A-line skirt, preferably a cityscape one, a simple tee with a scoop neck, a light sweater with 3/4 length sleeves, and flats. Done, ready for anything!
I love those looks. Basic black, navy, cream, or camel look great, I through a loose fitting cotton linen cream blazer over my exercise bermudas and white t-shirt. It saves me. Lol
I love the outfits. Thank you for this! Is there a video of how we can/should walk and carry ourselves so we look "classy" and confident? If we're just standing having a conversation, what's the best way to pose ourselves so we appear confident and engaged? I hope this makes sense. Thank you!
I love love love the look of your black foundation pieces underneath your cream Ann Taylor silk blouse. I also love the empire waist on your black skirt. Wish more skirts/dresses were empire.
Of course, you look beautiful and classy in everything, because that’s what you are, and also very intelligent, kind, compassionate, elegant, artistic, and hip. We love you. You have great taste, every outfit you present is both lovely and versatile. Appreciate your channel very much. God bless you, and your family, pups too.
Love all these looks, couldn't find a white shirt that I liked,I took one of my husband's shirts and changed the buttons for a more feminine look, and I am so happy with the look.
I love all these looks. Thank you so much! I'm so glad you popped up in my feed! It would be helpful to me to know what size you are wearing (although that's a bit personal).
Just got back from daughter’s wedding & I flew so to walk through the airport a white T, jeans, navy blazer & my white sneaker with a little bling on them heal. Love that & all of these looks!!❤
Nikol, when I was still in the workforce and was a Trainer (in front of people every day, teaching/presenting for State Gov't) my uniform was a cardigan buttoned to 2 unbuttons at the top, a scarf or necklace, dress pants (usually from Talbot's) and either clogs or low-heeled pumps. I often got compliments on how "put together" I looked, and it was easy. Post workforce and in retirement, it's any kind of easy top, leggings, and either sneakers or boots depending on what errands I'm running. I really need to figure out how to sell a lot of clothes I no longer wear!
Nikol, I live in a small, rural, Southern town. The majority of my fellow citizens are, shall we say, casual to the extreme. I am also pretty casual but sometimes folks at Walmart will literally do a double take, because I’m not in stretchy leggings or college football tee. They think I’m dressed up…..🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂😂😂. I have worn these looks for most of my adult life. They all look appropriate for most of life’s situations. Thanks. You look terrific. 😁
Every combo reminds me of how I dressed in the 1980s. I guess that shows that classics never really change that much.
Classic elegance❤❤❤
In my day, ladies went to a finishing school before university as you were taught how to dress for a successful professional life. Nothing to do with being French ..... Simply a case of classic.
These outfits are very close to those lessons. My Grandmother would have also added that a great leather bag, gloves, and a pretty lipstick are a necessity!
By the way, I am British and mid 50's ......
When will your makeup line be available in Europe?
I am the product of a finishing school. Happiest four years of my childhood! Fashion lessons every week - a bygone era.
I thought finishing schools disappeared after the Swinging Sixties in the UK
Absolutely! I'm a product of ballet, charm, and finishing school! These styles are very normal for me, and as you stated, has nothing to do with being French. They're actually typical looks that are very natural for me.❤

Sometimes the invisibility thing is our own fault. We can stop making an effort or carrying ourselves with confidence. Both easy to fix.
Thx for info. Love French styling.
Hi Nikol ❤and all you lady's here.... Just bought 3 blazers...red/black a mint green and a Blue pied de poule. They are from More and more which is German fashion and with my black pants they look amazing. Thanks Nikol for making us look awsome💋

That's it. We get the confidence to go back to the fashion we really love. Unapologetically. Thanks Nickol.
This is just the video I needed for looking sharp and pulled together for a day out shopping or runner errands yet looking classy! Thank you so much! 🌸👍😊

I love everyone of the outfits that you've chosen. All are clean, crisp, neat, stylish, and perfect for Fall.
I love simple and classic. I save all my blazers, individual jackets and suit jackets. They are very versatile and you can pair them in many ways. ❤❤
Thank you Nikol for sharing; loved this segment. ❤❤
CLASSIC, CLASSIC, CLASSIC! Always stunning and pulled together with those looks. Thanks for all you do for us with your many ideas and inspirations.
Thank You for reminding us to get back to basics and wear what works for us and keep it simple and add a little pop if you want, but this is so great! Love them all! 😊
Love the classic French style.
I laid out my clothes for tomorrow before watching this video: blazer, tee, and jeans!
This formula works SO well!
You have just described my wardrobe, except for one thing. Pleated pants are death to me. I will always prefer a flat front.
I use to go with a similar type vibe and I need to get back to that. I finally got over my “teenage years”😂 (73 now) want to get back to a more put together old lady look. I hate dressing old but those formulas work for any age.
I am 38 so not exactly your target audience but I have to say I hope you put out more style videos. Your overall essence is very mesmerizing.
Love the French classics! Wish you would do more of this!
I have both Escada and St John and I consider them to be very good brands, these brands are never mentioned in the market but they are of high quality.
Beautiful, top notch. I love my Ralph Lauren blazer. It’s won me several jobs.

Tolle Vorschläge, die man sofort aus dem eigenen Kleiderschrank verwirklichen kann. Ich bin begeistert!!!
Yes, finishing school here. Always dress with a blazer suit look. I felt finished. We have gotten more relaxed, but would still dress professionally for work. I love it.
Great video! Thank you so much for showing these French chic looks that are easy to duplicate. 😊

my favorite is the pencil skirt!
Classics not only look good but they can make you feel good. It's a win-win.
Hello Nikol,,5 classic easy stunning outfits...
You just solved my packing questions for an upcoming trip! Very helpful. Thank you.
Oh Nikol!! I love all of your videos. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. But this one is especially interesting and helpful. Exactly the tips I needed currently. Thank you!!
My style uniform is jeans a graphic tee and a moto jacket. Most of the time I wear a pr of kicks.
Of course, you look beautiful and classy in everything, because that’s what you are, and also very intelligent, kind, compassionate, elegant, artistic, and hip. We love you. So true about having key pieces in our wardrobe!!! I love a tailored pair of black trousers and a well fitted pencil skirt. Never go wrong with them!! Can't wait for the next fashion video!!! Bravo Nikol!!!
Love your classic polish! Thanks for help making it feel attainable for the rest of us❤️

Dress for the supermarket or going for a walk. That's when I get compliments because everyone else is a slob.
Glad you are feeling better ❤
Love these pieces put together.
Lovely! Thank you for the ideas!
Really liked this video. Wouldn't mind seeing more like this.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. This is right up my alley style wise. Thank you ❤

Jeans + cashmere v-neck sweater + boots = my winter go to formula
This is exactly what I needed to see! I do own all these classic pieces but I have so much fluff as well. Very classic and classy!
My black and white stripes Armor Lux Bretagne tops are my favorites, have renewed them regularly since 1977!!
Been, watching these types. Of videos. Felt I wanted to be dressing in a more classic fashion, now that covid is hopefully winding down and I can get out more often. So so beautiful I love them all!!! Thank you
Love all of the outfits and will wear all
Excellent and so helpful! Thank you
Very helpful Nicole.

I'm sure Escape can help you. Or maybe try Lafayette 148.
I meant Escada. .
I approve of your outfits! It helps to be well manicured as well❤
Your hair is gorgeous! Love the video. I lived in Europe for many years.
white shirts always look great, also nothing better than black and white
A vintage Talbots A-line skirt, preferably a cityscape one, a simple tee with a scoop neck, a light sweater with 3/4 length sleeves, and flats. Done, ready for anything!
What a great recipe for travel wardrobe. I travel for work and pulling these pieces cover any situation I might be in while away from home. Thank you
I love those looks. Basic black, navy, cream, or camel look great, I through a loose fitting cotton linen cream blazer over my exercise bermudas and white t-shirt. It saves me. Lol

I love love love the look of your black foundation pieces underneath your cream Ann Taylor silk blouse. I also love the empire waist on your black skirt. Wish more skirts/dresses were empire.
I might add a nice cashmere sweater with good jeans or a tailored pair of pants. Maybe add a silk scarf. Always works.
Another great video thank you Nikol.

You could also donate to a high school or a workforce development group that helps women starting out or returning to work.
Exactly what I'm doing at the moment, recycling what hasn't been worn. Massive wardrobe but never have anything to wear
Thank-you.
There are so many different tones of black. You need to watch for this when you are outside, it can be frightening!
Love your make up here . Especially the lipstick combo . Could you please do a tutorial about this thank you .
