Welcome to the official RUclips channel of Nikol Johnson!💄
My Channel is about empowering women to show up, be BOLD, FIERCE, and Unapologetic. I talk a lot about this in my book Beauty Reinvented, available through Amazon! It's not just about going gray young it's about a powerful movement for women breaking out and having NO BEAUTY RULES.
➡️ None of what I show on this channel is what “mainstream” RUclips makeup tutorials will show you. Instead of telling you to put loads of makeup on (that makes you look like a different person), I want to show you how to “reveal” the beauty that you already have and teach you how to look GREAT- while still looking like YOURSELF.
As the years go by, many women feel that their beauty and radiance go by too. I don’t believe this. I believe you can stay beautiful, confident, and feel wonderful even if you’re past 40, 70, 80, or 100 years of age.
➡️ No matter your background or your age, my goal is to help you on your journey. Whether through make-up/skin-care tutorials, product reviews, or health/wellness advice. I want to empower (and teach) women to show up, be BOLD, FIERCE, and unapologetic.
Are you ready to embrace your authentic self- and start making YOUR OWN BEAUTY RULES? Subscribe to my channel NOW! 🔔

Bonjour, I am French... and so thankful to my beloved grandmothers and mother who taught me the importance of good skincare. They had beautiful skins, clear and so soft, and in their 80s, still very few wrinkles. They started the day with their skincare, then a little make up, it was discreet and simple but enhanced their best features and gave them "bonne mine", a healthy glow. Like most French women, they did not buy expensive skincare or make up products. These were affordable, like the nivea milk cleanser, but they made sure the ingredients were ok and what their skin needed, especially moisturisers. Same for make up products. I remember my mum loved her Bourgeois blush. The only red Chanel lipstick she had was a gift. Usually she bought less expensive, but good quality French brands, and her lipstick shades were always lovely and chic. I do just the same, and also learned from my Greek mother-in-law the benefits of olive oil for skin beauty and health :) Most French women do not spend a fortune on their skincare or make up, we do not wear red lipstick all the time, and we love a very natural, easy make up which is quite effortless but still feminine and chic. We are definitely not fans of contouring and thick make up. But of course, for special occasions and nights, we add a bit of extra glamour to our make up :)

@@lynnmurzynski649 Quality extra virgin olive oil is a great natural cleanser to easily remove make up, even waterproof mascara, it can be mixed or rinced with floral water. It also makes the lips very soft, and the skin in general. A few drops can make hair ends less dry. My mother-in-law taught me to let certain herbs or flowers (chamomille, calendula, lavender etc) soak in olive oil for a few weeks, so as to add even more benefits to the oil including medical ones. It can be used for massages. No chemicals, it's all natural and non toxic! There is a lot of info on the internet 😉🙂

I saw a very young woman in a parisian train, I couldn't stop admiring her, she had perfect skin, little bit of natural looking powder on her face, mascara, very natural blush color and very natural lipstick color. Also her long hair was freshly washed and had little bit of volume and waves. Classy simple clothes, trench coat and low heels. She was stunning! ❤️👌

I think French women probably think American women are too fussy with makeup. I didn't see ANY contouring or eyeshadow in Paris. You're absolutely right. They'd rather spend their money on skin care, and keep the makeup simple.
I only use foundation for nights out on the town. Otherwise, it's just a tinted moisturizer.

I am French and live in France.
The most important thing when it comes to skin care, or make up in France is: LESS IS MORE!
It is about quality, not quantity.
The second thing in France is NUTRITION!
Our diet is pretty healthy and we eat a bit of everything, but most of us ( well at least my generation) stay away from garbage drinks sodas and fast food . The skin is a filter and the more garbage people eat and drink, the more it will show when getting older.
This lady has gorgeous skin, wears a beautiful make up and obviously understood the concept of make up.
Girls, stay away from those ridiculous lashes, layers of paint, glitter, spray and god-knows-what! Your skin needs to breathe and one more thing....an expensive product name doesn't necessarily means quality, or that it is good for your skin.
Stick to natural oils and products that don't have ingredients in them, that you can't spell, lol!

All the more so because my brother had died from melanoma. I told them I was disappointed in their decision because a gym was for health purposes and a sunbed was not only harmful to the skin in terms of accelerating ageing but potentially dangerous to health because of the risk of melanoma. I never heard back from my feedback but a short while later it was removed. :)

What I love about it is that it’s inexpensive, it gets completely absorbed into the skin to the point where I don’t even remember I have it on, and the age spots on the side of my cheekbones have either faded or disappeared. What’s not to like?! I use it on my neck as well, and rub any excess onto the back of my hands and elbows. It truly has been a game changer for me.

First let me say, I am no way affiliated with the company. I just wanted to share this information. I've been unhappy with the way my skin has been looking lately. I also have rosacea and was on prescription meds and and a topical cream. I quit using both of them before I started with the Omnilux. My rosacea is completely gone as are the little broken blood vessels in my cheeks. And overall my skin is looking so much better, more even tone and healthy looking. I much prefer using products like this rather than injesting meds. I did a lot of research before buying it because it's pricey. It's worth every penny. Thank you Nikol. Nikol, one of the most important thing French women do is keep their weight down consistently. Having faces that bloat and then shrink on "crash diets" leaves plenty of room for wrinkles to form, and then everything else so many here in the U.S. do is damage control. That said, I hope you'll do a video on Bobbi Jones' new line Jones Road.

I’m 65, live in Scotland (completely different climate to you) and I really only took an interest in caring for my skin etc during and after the COVID lockdowns. I retired three months before lockdown began. I am seeing the fruits of my labours now. My skin, hair and nails show an incredible improvement. To be honest, some of the products you enthuse about are completely out of my price cap but I am succeeding with the products I can afford on a pension and I allow myself the odd treat. That being said there are many lovely products available now that help address my pigmentation and of course sunscreen is part of my morning routine. I have always been a red lipstick girl and now that I have embraced my grey hair it is my go to colour as it makes my skin pop 🎉 and helps brighten my very fair skin. I love your channel. You inspire me every single time I see you. Thank you 🙏🥂💃🎼💞

blood test for food sensitivities was a game changer for me. Here in the US, I used Everlywell. Found that I had sensitivity to dairy, eggs & wheat. Slowly (very slowly) eliminated them from my daily food routine & my skin started looking much better in about 3-4 weeks.

You need to know that here in America they destroy dairy, eggs, and wheat. Overseas they do not homogenize and pasteurize their dairy. This kills all nutrients and destroys the enzyme God put there so that there is no lactose intolerance. They lie about raw dairy here. Overseas eggs are kept on shelves and not refrigerated. Our wheat is no good here because they GMOed it decades ago. Read Grain Brain and Wheat Belly.

I'm 60 and loving your suggestions. I love the French more natural look over the American overdone thing. In America, we tend to highlight everything. In France, it's the eyes or the lips, or whatever, but not everything. I'm going to buy the Pirate nail color, though. Love that!

Skincare First, since I’ve been using better quality skincare products I’ve found that I don’t require the need for foundation, I’ll use my sunscreen mixed with a little sunscreen that has a glow to it and that’s my foundation, I love the versatility of using lipstick not just for the lips but for the cheeks as well, everything ties in together and it’s so easy and pretty, Less is More for us mature beauties I’ve found over time @63 years young. Great video as always Nikol, You truly are a Classic Beauty. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺❤️❤️

French grandmothers are a boon. They guide us early on to clean well, hydrate inside and out, and wear sunblock. I spend more on skincare than makeup and it has paid off. I never see French women use obvious contour and lined lips. They trust their instincts and never follow the herd after age 35. If they wear eyeshadow, it is subtle, never three or four shades. I love watching the women of Paris and their leisurely approach to beauty and life. Terrific video!

Great ideas, thanks! I have redness from rosacea so I need some foundation. To avoid a heavy foundation look, I mix it with my Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer to make a tinted moisturizer. It’s just $16 for 3 Oz, oil free for rosacea gals and has hyaluronic acid and 5 ceramides. It makes for a natural look, more youthful.

I love all the tips you have talked about here in this video, iWeb always been a minimalist project n my makeup, now though that I’m older I have to cover up more hyperpigmentation, a little of melisma from my last pregnancy, but I still like to wear little makeup. The one thing I have always liked and I wear is a bright lipstick whether it’s summer or winter. Less is more.

I will be buying in quantity!!! And I also LOVE the La Mer foundation (much better than the Chanel foundation I just bought)! It is so good and well worth the price! I am not happy about how it smells but the overall quality and performance of this product more than compensates for the unpleasant scent. Thank you Nikol for your wonderful content.

I have been hooked on your videos since the Covid shutdown. I appreciate how you “see” women at 60, 70, 80+ and don’t patronize or play to our insecurities. Self-care starts with positivity and confidence. But I must say I am an easy sell for luscious skin treatments. As for makeup, I totally agree that less is more, particularly as we age - mascara, targeted foundation, lipstick, and maybe a little blush if I’m feeling sallow. If I’m feeling fancy, I will put a thin line of eyeliner from the middle-ish to end of the lash line - top only - to define my lashes.

LOVE this video, thank you! I don't like to use foundation, so one tip I use is right after moisturizer, before it fully sets it, I use that to help blend out my spot treatment concealer - just makes it a little bit creamier. 3 generations of us are going to France for the first time in late May - me, daughter, mother. Would you consider doing a fashion video of what to wear/pack? Your beautiful style seems to already lend itself to their fashion. I love Clarins Eau Dynamisante! ! It’s extremely light and citrus-y with a warm, subtle herbal dry-down only detectable in very close quarters. It’s great as a fragrance in hot, humid weather. It doesn’t last too long (which can be good sometimes) so I keep a purse sprayer filled with it for times when I want an aromatherapy pick me up. It’s an upbeat unisex scent with some initial projection which quickly wears down to an understated skin scent.
