    That’s really pretty but I feel like it’s a waste of product unless you use the rest on your lips or something, cause I see a lot of makeup artists do this and they never show what they do with the rest 🙃

      tbh after the first time trying it youll know how much to place on your hand. yes a little will remain smudged on your hand but it wont be enough to be considered a waste.

      i would just use a little bit of it on my cheeks and blend it with my hand. or use it as lipstick first then tap a little bit of the product on my lips with my finger, then put it on my cheeks

      MUA’s do this for hygienic purposes, which truthfully they should be using a mixing palette for, not the back of their hands. The idea is to separate the product from the container to gain access to it, without the applicator of said container touching the skin of a client, which would cause bacterial contamination. Leading to them being unable to utilize it on any other clients. By transferring the product from the applicator to a sterile mixing palette, the artist can dip their brush into the mixing palette to pick up product and then apply it to the client. As for what they do with leftover product on their mixing palette, they discard it when cleaning and sanitizing the palette after an application with that client has been completed.

      warming the blush with your fingers first before applying leads to a more natural finish

    • @borahaevv8200
      @borahaevv8200 3 месяца назад +14

      The issue is applying too much and unevenly, and can depend on the type of blush one's using. Some blush can go a long way for a tiny dot. And applying it to the fingertips would just have the same effect as applying it directly to the face.

      It's wasted if you put too much on your face. You buy makeup to look a certain way, so it's also a waste if the way you apply it can't possibly reach that goal.

    • @freetheghost
      @freetheghost 4 месяца назад +24

      Yeah, I don't get why they don't use the same technique as for buildable foundations. Just use a bit, blend, and then add more if you need to. The only reason I'd put it on the back of my hand first is to warm it up, but it's not like your cheek is ice cold compared to your hand. 🙄

  • @user-sd5db4hy6j
    @user-sd5db4hy6j 4 месяца назад +319

    Amazing but I think you could just apply a little amount of blush and then blend it out very soon before it gets stained as a way to prevent waste the product on your hand

    • @tifadreamers
      @tifadreamers 3 месяца назад +9

      I used to do that and trust me, it's harder to blend a cream blush if you put it directly on your face. you'll end up wasting more than you should have anyway from trying to blend it in and it'll still look patchy. or you'll ruin the base once you get the right look.
      the purpose of using the back of your hand to blend the first drops is to break the blush down so you can put it layer by layer on your cheek and not the other way around. it may look a lot, but it's really not a lot amount of blush used on the hand. you're just seeing it as a lot because she spreads it wide when blending

    If you guys are worried about waste, use a glass palette instead of your hand. The palette won't absorb the product and it's more hygienic in general. Also, be mindful of the amount ESPECIALLY with high pigment liquid blush.

    The point of the blush application is not the she puts product on her hand, idk why everyone keeps mentioning that. This tip shes showing is accurate. With cream products, youre supposed to apply small amounts at a time and layer one on top of the other until your reach desired coverage or pigment. This also applies to foundation and concealer. The reason cakey finishes happen is cuz everyone dumps a crap ton of product directly to the face all at once and dont blend it out properly cuz all of that product has no where to go. I learned this same technique from Pony syndrome, a famous South Korean makeup artist. Obviously you can put less product on your hand, thats not the point lmao.

    People saying that the blush left on the hand is wasted. No.
    She made a video for demo purposes and that's why used slightly more than necessary. You can normally just use 2-3 drops based on your blush's consistency and pigmentation and believe me it won't go to waste.
    Lastly, makeup spreads on the skin as it gets warm so it might appear that there's a lot left on your skin but it's actually not that much, it's just smudging and spreading due to the skin's heat and ofc your application process.
