I was a pro Mua and I can say these are excellent tips for beginners! I just wanted to add that blush applied higher near the eyes is definitely trendy, but may not be well suited for every face shape. So if you’re someone who finds that you don’t like blush applied that high, you can still apply blush to the apples of your cheek. The reason why it’s drags the face down is because most people will apply it while smiling, the key is to find the apples of your cheeks but do NOT smile while applying, then you won’t ending up with droopy blush

Moisturize skin before doing foundation to make it look smooth (esp. dry skin) -> Use serum (tacky base) or primer (silicone-based = oily skin/ water-based - dry skin)
Foundation: use beauty sponge instead of brush (beginner friendly)
Concelear: choose color that close to the foundation, one that has lighter color than the foundation can be used to lighten some areas of the face but don't use it to cover blemishes -> spotlight effect

tips: serum: skin needs to be well moisturised before makeup, better than primer
lip prep: lip oil is good for dry lips
foundation: pump it on back of your hand and swipe it on your face before blending, use a beauty sponge to bend
concealer: use very little because it is thicker and can emphasise texture
powder: pat it in and swipe it under the eyes, helps set the liquid materials
contour: use shade that looks cool toned to make more it realistic, jawline contour
blush: apply right on top of cheekbones and on tip of the nose
nose contour: start from brow bone and then blend it down, do bottom and blend, use powder to clean up the sides of contour
highlighter: apply using a very small brush on the tip of your nose and bridge
eyeliner: use brown pencil for beginners, blend it out with a brown eyeshadow, outline your eyelash line
under eye makeup: use brown shadow to emphasise the area around your eyes
curl your eyelashes by doing multiple times in each section
pinch your eyelashes together to help separate them and remove clumps
create hair like strokes at the front on the eyebrow and spoolie to diffuse them to make them natural

This is. BY FAR. The MOST helpful beginner everyday makeup video I have encountered. I feel like I had to watch so many different vids and read so many articles that all went into ridiculous detail about one specific part of makeup like foundations, or picking correct colors, or application techniques, and it just is so much info that needs to be pieced together. You managed to cover everything necessary to know in 15 min, and I feel like I finally understand the process and purpose for everything when putting on a full face! Thank you!
E.g. Blush and contour? I also view blush as a non-essential, but you explained WHY it ACTUALLY does something. Contour I also view as non-essential because I don’t like the American standard cheekbone method; I had a vague idea that cool-toned as used more in Asian makeup might suit me better, but you explained why cool-toned is just simply better to create a more natural look. The vague concept “set your makeup”? It’s so that when your face touches something you won’t transfer makeup. TYPE OF BRUSH TO DO A PROPER NOSE CONTOUR WITH A PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE BRUSH instead of just doing it or saying “use a contour brush to…”. All these little details I feel like you usually have to dig to find or get lost in the other info. I really appreciate this vid, this is going to all my friends that are also trying to figure out makeup, lol.
edit: (i am clearly adding to this as i watch, lol, but) YOU EVEN COVERED THE AEGYO SAL, I tried it ONCE and failed EPICALLY, thank you for covering this, too!!!

This video taught me so much. I was definitely making a ton of these mistakes. I am guilty of mixing water based primer with silicone based foundation and not understanding why my makeup was pilling, using too bright concealer to cover blemishes, having face powder clump and ruin my entire base makeup, and placing aegyo-sal eyeshadow too low causing me to look like I had under eye bags instead of smiling eyes. I had previously resigned myself to not wearing any makeup because I looked worse with it on. The comparison photos showing different placements helped me learn so much!!! I was definitely placing my blush on the apple of my cheek like the beginner version.. People told me in high school they thought I had a long face, and its been a bit of an insecurity of mine ever since. I had no idea placing blush like that drags your face down- seeing the comparison shots, it makes total sense why. I went out tonight and tried out your recommendation to place the blush on top of my cheekbones. I got compliments and I feel like it looks much better. Thank you!!!!
