      @@Infernal460 Indeed. That's what we've been discussing. But it was Littlefinger who persuaded Lysa to poison Jon Arryn.
      Lysa was infatuated with Petyr, so it probably wouldn't take much to get her to do his bidding; perhaps he told her that with Jon dead they could be together. Why is the question? Was it Baelish's aim to create chaos in the realm by pushing Lannister and Stark against one another, or was his aim simply revenge against the Starks and nothing more. It was Baelish who told Brandon Stark that Rhaegar had abducted Lyanna, knowing full well the headstrong Brandon would storm off to confront the King. He certainly would have wanted revenge against Brandon, who had wounded him from throat to navel in their duel over Cat. Killing Jon Arryn would bring the last Stark of that generation, Ned (Benjen doesn't matter, being in the Night's Watch), to King's Landing. After the attack on Bran, when Cat followed Ned south, it was Baelish who told her the dagger belonged to Tyrion (it didn't, it was Robert's, ignore the travesty the show made). Perhaps Baelish convinced himself that if Ned could be removed from the scene permanently then he could resume his "love affair" with Cat, and be with her. Maybe that was his true goal all along. After her death at the Red Wedding, Baelish transfers his affections to Sansa, even telling people in the Vale that she is his bastard daughter.

      @@franciscoancergomez3949We don't know what would happen if Ned followed Catelyn's advice.
      From my assessment, if Ned had not gone to the capitol, he would have declared open war against the Lannisters, which few houses wanted. Additionally, rather than be honorable, these houses could get paid by the Lannisters. Due to Ned's stubbornness and honor, betrayal of the Starks was inevitable.

    2:40-2:56 To a loyal Stark fan this short moment has to hit hard. Ned is mking the biggest decision of his life. Will he stay in Winterfell or go to Kings Landing where once two Stark men where horribly killed on the command of a king. Those men were his father and brother. He could only be thinking about what happened to them and what could possibly happen to him if he agrees to go to Kings Landing. What would become of his family? Us Stark fans wish he chose to stay at Winterfell but then we wouldn't have the fantastic show we have come to love.

    I've just realised going back to this scene that there is an error, referring to Lysa's wedding to Jon Arryn. Cat says "she (meaning Lysa) hasn't been back to the Eyrie since her wedding night". But Jon & Lysa wed each other in Riverrun not the Eyrie.
    Its in the lore that there was a double wedding held at Riverrun during Roberts Rebellion; Ned wed Catelyn & Jon wed Lysa

    • @EnzoPepsiCola
      @EnzoPepsiCola 5 лет назад

      Cat actually says that Lysa hasn't been back to the Eyrie SINCE her wedding which was, as you stated, at Riverrun. Not her wedding night, this means that Cat is saying since Lysa's marriage was to Jon Arryn, she probably went to the Eyrie after her marriage whilst Jon was fighting in the rebellion.

    • @EnzoPepsiCola
      @EnzoPepsiCola 5 лет назад

      Despite my reply, it is also stated that Cat and Lysa remained in Riverrun so let's assume Lysa did get married in Riverrun in the double marriage just as in the books, would she have gone to the Eyrie to meet her betrothed?
      Maybe I'm just clutching at straws and it was an error idk 😂

He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark."
      And it's signed with Sansa. Again, this is the letter Robb receiveded from Sansa in Season 1.
      If it was Lysa's letter, why on earth would that be beneficial for Arya to know? They're already at war with the Lannisters and the knights of the Vale are under Sansa and LF's command.

      It's called "buildup".
      Ned's death was shocking, but in hindsight makes sense if you follow the several episodes of characterization and buildup.
      Dany's death makes sense for *her actions* that she committed in the *very last episode* but the actions themselves make zero sense and the buildup was rushed. Even Emilia Clarke was surprised and horrified.
