    I had "help" with decluttering. When I couldn't manage the stairs in my apartment (looking for a handicapped accessible place, right now), when moving out, my beloved family threw out all of my inks... I had over 40 mostly full bottles, from 30 mL to 4 ounce vintage bottles of Parker Quink and Sheaffer's Skrip...
    So, I've had to start over. Currently, I have a package of Platinum Carbon Black cartridges for an early 1970s Platinum pocket pen (Use it for envelopes, mostly), and for day to day, bottle each of Waterman Serenity Blue and Mysterious Blue (blues... And me an avowed despiser of many blue inks. But they were cheap, on Amazon, easily half anywhere else, and good for original copies of doctor's forms and applications for different places. They're well behaved on cheap copy paper. And not gaudy or black.) Used currently in a couple of my vintage Esterbrook Js. Mysterious Blue in a black J with a 2550 extra fine "posting" nib (best extra fine I've ever used, even though it's not tipped) and the Serenity Blue in the type of Esterbrook that got me hooked, a gray J, with their almost default nib, a (in this case, well worn. Folded tipping is almost nonexistent) 2668 firm medium.
    Then I have 2 more inks, again for something different. Both KWZ, Spruce Green and Cappuccino, for when I want something else. (Recently filled out the paperwork for another specialist for my health with the green. Because I didn't want to use blue.😁)
    Currently playing with a recent acquisition, getting it back in writing condition, a 1940s Wahl-Eversharp Skyline I'd gotten a steal on, with minimally a semi flex nib. Flex really doesn't matter to me, but it's still cool. 😄
    As it's navy blue, one of the Waterman inks should be a perfect match. And the Eversharp gold nibs are easily my favorite gold nibs.
    Good luck with the decluttering, and hope you have a great summer!

    Kudos on your de-cluttering, taking the one/crock pot out to the shed is brilliant, unfortunately we live in a 200 unit apartment building, we opt for an air-fryer instead. Your projects are an inspiration, unfortunately I usually also plug in the names of all your exotic pens I never heard of into Ebay and we're off to the races. We've had some incredibly hot (for Britain) days interspersed with quite a bit of rain. Climate change is already messing with our weather very significantly here, because we are so dependent on the warmth of the North Atlantic Drift, which has been disrupted by the colder meltwater entering the sea.

      The pen fan community online likes to vainly pretend that they are such lovely, tolerant, ‘different’ kind of people from the rest of them. But Nathan’s last run-in with public controversy over his bottled inks’ artwork etc..just blew everybody’s cover . The haughty intolerance and imbecility (and hypocrisies) of many pen fans and commenters on different pen channels was on full display.

    Another good one. Enjoyed the flex of the Duofold especially because it looked like it made thick and thin lines without any special effort on your part, Or do you just write that way naturally? A gift!
    I wish your decluttering were inspiring me to action instead of merely clean(ing) thoughts. Oh, wait. This afternoon I did declutter my secretary style writing desk, then went on to write a 12 page (so far) letter. It may need a P.S. or an addendum. Was easier with the clutter gone. Thanks! Next, the office which one female friend calls “That awful room!” The writing desk isn’t in there.
    I wrote you a response to your response about Yellowstone talking about the amazing Old Faithful Inn and it’s mezzanine balcony writing desks. I’m starting to wonder if RUclips sends notifications for such secondary responses. Thoughts?

    • @WaskiSquirrel
      @WaskiSquirrel  17 дней назад

      I make a little effort, but that Duofold is blessed with an amazing nib!
      Something as simple as decluttering a desk helps a lot. It's wonderful having a clear area to work. And it's an inspiring starting spot.
      I'll have to look for your comment. I don't get notifications for secondary responses, so I have to look for them. The balcony does sound nice for writing. Nowadays I would be uncomfortable setting a typewriter. I don't travel with them because of the noise.
      You made a good point about Moab. Like a lot of beautiful areas, it's not local people, it's a lot of tourists and a lot of people who like the tourist lifestyle. I'm lucky to live in an area that is close to scenery, but not especially scenic itself.
      And I have heard the "dry heat" comment. I visited Minneapolis a few summers ago and the humidity there was torture!

    I wonder if the color of your Sailor 1911S is called the Fresca (Blue)?. It is very appealing. I remember wanting something eerily similar, but the 1911L instead. Couldn’t find it, all sold out, so I gave up. I didn’t look on the Bay, because I don’t buy anything there.
    Also, despite your bad luck and troubles with the pen, I’d take that Stipula Etruria Rainbow Magma every day of the week over most of your other pens in recent PiU episodes. The Etruria pens are just such beauties and perfect for me.
    I ❤ Stipula. I own twelve different Stipulas with various nibs (mainly gold, a few steel, one titanium) . None of my pens has given me any kind of problems, so far, so good. I own the Prisma and Emerald pens in this Rainbow series where your Magma pen belongs. Your Magma pen was generously discounted on price at a lot of places, presumably because of some buyers’ complaints about the nib, mainly.
    As you may remember, I mostly never liked Noodler’s inks. So, I gave away mine. And stopped buying them a few years ago. Not because of Nathan’s recurrent controversies with the pen/ink fan community , but because most of the Noodler’s inks I’ve tried, while affordably priced, are just too unpredictable, inconsistent and often even unusable. There are far superior inks available. I have defended Nathan’s constitutionally protected right to freedom of speech and expression. And frankly, just to show my solidarity with Nathan’s right to freedom of expression, if it were possible I’d have bought the entire stock of Noodler’s inks from the cowardly, unprincipled weasels at Goulet pen company who had suddenly voided Nathan’s products on their website.
    Btw, I’ve downsized my bottled ink collection mainly by giving them away to others who would care to have them. But I’ve also emptied several down the bathroom sink. No way out. This year, I’ve bought many Sailor inks (20ml bottles). Sailor inks are my mainstay and favorites.
    Good for you on the ongoing de-cluttering mission at home. Hopefully, you’d get it done to your satisfaction, soon. I only once had to de-clutter my large home. Luckily, two of my sisters happily helped me at the time. Made the job easier and better, in the end.
    I hope to be able to catch a livestream should you do one, soon.
    Edit: Forgot to mention that I like older, original Delta pens with the Bock gold nibs. I even have a purple-lilac colored Delta Fusion 82 (my favorite) with that special ‘fusion’ nib. Even if it’s considered a gimmick, I must say the nib is a swell writer anyway.
    Not interested in the ‘new’ Delta pens. For the mostly meh designs. And they come fitted with Jowo nibs. That just kills the deal for me.

    • @WaskiSquirrel
      @WaskiSquirrel  17 дней назад

      Yes, that's the color of my Sailor. I loved the color, probably because the advertising paired it with bright tropical fruit. You'll notice I always pair it with a brightly colored ink.
      I'm not thrilled with that Stipula. I'm glad I have it working better with this nib, but that's not what I bought. Beautiful pen and perfect shape, but so much trouble with ink, even as I've traded multiple different feeds in and out.
      I think Nathan enjoyed poking people and being controversial. And then he took it too far and discovered the reaction he enjoyed wasn't so fun when it threatened his bottom line. I'd care more except too many of his inks just have to many problems.
      As you say, Sailor inks are quite good. The original flat bottles are unpleasant. I haven't tried the new bottles yet.
      The decluttering is going well. Now I've purged each room. So I'm going back through and decluttering in detail and making sure everything has a home.
      My Delta experience is the steel nib you saw in this video and a Fusion nib. It writes well...as a steel nib.
      Hoping a livestream soon, I just need to work out a few things.
