It's called neurographica it's actually an art therapy style. What it is is the lines are supposed to be completely random or you're supposed to scribble something on the paper very quickly and then you round all the sharp edges making the sharp thoughts more smooth then you're supposed to add field lines or grounding lines which help ground you and let you analyze deep thoughts even better. I took a beginner's course in neurographica at the neurographica academy online it's really great in fact one of the things that I wanted to do was learn to organize better and honestly after I took that course a year ago I can't stop trying to get 40 years of my life without organization actually organized. It's also help me with a lot of my PTSD and my ADHD and anytime I feel upset or stressed out I can grab a piece of paper and do the work.
I love that, thank you for sharing! So I’m guessing the circles I see put in a lot of videos are the grounding lines… I know it makes me feel better! That’s a course I would like to take!
@@Waspinmymind well it is not pseudoscience it is psychology and it is art therapy. I took a class after doing many of their online free things since I love art therapy for my complex PTSD. If you looked it up you'd have more information instead of just assuming because of the name. I took the one class and it helped a lot. The thing is is that it is a therapy session kind of like you'd go to a therapist and talk to them well with this you use a drawing technique in order to calm the mind which are therapy is a real thing that's been used for many many many many years. So don't assume without doing the research yourself. I take it you are not somebody who has to do any kind of therapy or doesn't believe in art therapy but I'm just assuming let me tell you something having neurographica in my tool box of things that I can use to help me through panic attacks through flashbacks and through times of immense stress has helped me 10-fold and I've had it for a year. I've had more progress this year and I've actually knocked my panic attacks down to I've had one in the past 6 months and with that one when I felt it coming on I immediately went to drawing and rounding corners and I didn't have to take anxiety medication which I used to have to take three a day I'm down to as needed and my panic attack was over quicker than any I've ever had before. You know why? Basically I focused on something else I made sure to take the sharp panic that I was feeling and rounded it out. But I wouldn't know how to do that the right way without having the guidance I would have just done neurographic art with it which is kind of different because when doing neurographic art without the therapy part You're just doing art for art sake trying to make a pretty picture when you understand the steps in doing a neurographica session then you're doing it for therapy whether it's for high stress or for putting intention to something it actually does work and help a lot. I took my class January 2023 since then I have been through some very stressful situations that before had left me in a constant state of panic for days at a time now after being able to add that to my toolbox which led me to do acrylic paint pouring and both of those together has helped me in the past year to have something to do to ease my mind which in turn like I said left me without having to take my anxiety medication that I've taken since 2007 I quit biting my nails randomly in one year didn't even notice I've been biting them since I've had teeth I'm in my forties. I have made many positive changes over this past year and it all started with taking that class. And no I'm not affiliated with them and yes there are a lot of people out there who think they're know what they're talking about when it comes to it but if you don't take the class you wouldn't know but you need to make sure you are going to the right people to do it. It is based on science done by a psychiatrist/psychologist and artist from Moscow and please with everything going on in today's world don't hold the fact that it started in Moscow against them. If I'm not mistaken I did mention the actual US-based academy The reason I did that is yes there are people out there who will try and make money off of this who don't know what the heck they're talking about just like everything else. That's why it's important to do your own research. I'm only one person I'm not affiliated with them in any way I can just tell you from my own experience that when done with the right instructor so that you can learn the right techniques it can absolutely help in many different aspects but so can art therapy of all kinds You just have to be open to it. I would suggest checking out more about the origins of neurographica. Checking out the academy they have here You could even do one of their free classes on their RUclips channel I don't know if that's something you would be interested in but if not then don't come at me if you haven't done your own research. Is art therapy pseudoscience too? Have you done research in this? Have you done anything more than just read my comment and then blurt your opinion out because you know so much about it? Like I said before assuming do the research but what I told you about my experience is true the reason I commented is most likely the person who's showing this was showing it as an art technique even though she is showing it as a technique to help creativity and relax I thought it would be important to show the right way to do it so that people can have the most benefits.
@@bycreativepaulagoogle automatic drawing. it's a slightly different tool than what another commenter referenced. it is meant to be a meditative/ mindful tool, than a psychological tool. slightly different, though very similiar
@@Waspinmymindmay i suggest you google automatic drawing? i believe what paula made her is more in alignment with automatic drawing than the term the other commenter used. its a meditation tool.
In the first piece when you mess up but go with it, it reminds me of the best piece of art advice I’ve ever heard. When you mess up get excited. That switch in mindset helped me improve tremendously and I enjoy art more. Mistakes give us opportunity you never ever would have had. It’s also why I love drawing and doodling in pen you learn to incorporate your mistakes.
When I was about 12 years old I spent weeks making a scrap book. A true scrap book where I cut and paste pretty pictures out of magazines, comic strips from the Sunday newspaper and I made my own art pages, puzzle games etc.. I was so very proud of it. I left it on the table next to the telephone and my Dear Mom jotted down a phone number she wanted to remember on the front page. I was so very upset I cried. Feeling terrible about the mistake she quickly made the phone number into a doodle. I loved it and keep the book for years. I cherished that book for over 50 years now as it taught me an invaluable lesson...."all mistakes are opportunities to grow" I also cherished it because the book was now our book. She passed away but I have a small piece of her creativity.
I actually love the bleed-through on the back side of the large flower! When you were flipping back through, I wondered when you did that one, and then realized it's the back side - lol. Thanks for all of these great ideas. :)
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed them! This week I am taking some of what I tried on these pages onto my large canvas! 😊those mockups inspired me a lot too!
Don’t ever be afraid. We don’t have to love everything you do, you don’t have to love everything you do. It’s the fact that you create & inspire others as well as yourself that is the best part - plus you create some awesome images & they would make great art prints!
I think you’re a wonderful talented person. Don’t doubt yourself or allow anyone else’s opinion change how you feel about yourself. You had the courage to start a RUclips page and showcase your work. I think you are AMAZING ❤
OMG OMG OMG!!!!! I’m so glad I came across this video. I’ve been sick for a year with chemo therapy and cancer surgery and I need something to get me back into painting. Chemo makes you feel that everything is impossible but this shows me I can do just anything and have fun!!!!! 🎉
thank you so much for taking the time to share ❤️ I really think once we switch the perspective from “result” to “fun” art does what it’s supposed too and feeds our souls! Sending tons of love ❤️ and praying for your swift recovery
Keep fighting the fight honey! Way to many of us with this. My fight goes on, no treatment for me, but I'm still here, almost 3 years since diagnosis, I swear it was the Rona Jabs😂! Got me in my left lung, can't do anesthesia so no ops for me, relying on scans for growth rate, spread etc. but hey! Happy with my life, past, (4 gorgeous baby girls, grown up now, 6, beautiful grandkids, grown up! 1 Great Grandson!!) am now 65, still married 40yrs, and so very happy with my life, don't worry or be fearful, be happy and positive, you too, will live a long and happy life. Much love Chez in Lliria Valencia Spain ❤😘😘😘
I'd love diy abstracts for home decorating. That's exactly what I want to do since I can't currently afford to buy art and I'd like to decorate with some interesting wall art
I did a few of these on my lunch break today and you're right. They do satisfy without eating into time. I even combined a few (flowers in circles) and added a further pen colour into the equation (white posco for added highlights). Cheers for the hints and tips.
omg adding white pen over top for highlights is hitting my brain just the right way, I can incision that so hard--especially over the floral designs?? YES
I enjoyed this video a lot! I’ve been in an art slump for several months and I think what’s holding me back now,is that it’s been so long, I think I fear I’ve lost all my previous hard won skills in learning how to draw. I’m afraid I’ll have to start at square one! 😢 I’m self “guided” with the help of books and some lovely RUclips artists. (I don’t think it’s right to say I’m self taught when you wonderful people have taught me so much!). Anyway I never considered myself to be experienced, but I’ve been drawing for about 2 years now, so I knew SOME things! lol😂 So maybe not a beginner but not where I could comfortably say that I’m at an intermediate level either. I think what it boils down to is fear of failure. BUT your video really encouraged me and taught me that I can create without it needing to be complicated. ❤ I loved how your quick little art projects turned out. So pretty! So thank you so much for this video! ❤❤ I really needed to see this. And sorry this has gotten quite long! I just wanted to express my gratitude and the reason for it, but also because I wanted you to know you really do reach your viewers and impact lives. What you do is amazing. ❤❤ Oh! and you have gained a new subscriber. 😊
I think we all do that!- I mean there’s paintings I’ve sold to happy collectors that I wish I could go and retouch for them! What helps is to talk to ourselves (even for a tiny second) like we would to another artist and carry on for a bit with that encouragement and see what happens! Happy to have you here, have a beautiful day! ❤️
Thank you, so very much. I have been buying and buying - and BUYING - craft supplies of all kinds since my first of two car accidents 6 years ago, desperately searching for something that will bring me some joy. Turns out buying everything is what brings me joy. I have been told, and have believed that I am not artistic, but that I am smart. Well, a traumatic brain injury has taken away my work and I’m wanting so badly to create. Something, anything, i believe it will be therapeutic. I just don’t know where to start and am afraid to ruin my books and my supplies with my non-creative, self. You have given me permission, inspired me and even shown me how to start. Thank you so so so much. Dana
Dana, I am so sorry to hear about your accidents, sending much love ❤️ thanks for sharing with me, you’ve brought me so much joy by knowing this video has given you permission to create and explore and use all of those art supplies in ANY way that brings you comfort Please continue to remember it’s not about the end result but about enjoying the process in the time you carved out for yourself! And also let me tell you that everyone is creative and artistic! We just need to tap into that side of ourselves and also understand that artistic and creative mean a lot of different things and can be a lot of different things! Have fun! And thank you again 😊
I love the stains! Outlining them is what I would do, the natural look makes a perfect compliment to deliberate lines. Organic rot, damage and stains are what makes my best work the best, they're like an art gift from nature, to me at least. Of course it depends on what you do. I love what you're doing here, it always ends up beautiful when you go with it.
This is the first of many I will be watching of yours. I tried to reignite my art (I havent been able to do more than a few pages, getting caught on time, pefection- criticism, especially since becoming a parent.) many times; I have LOVED every single of these, and the extra step you took for those of us who are visual- blowing it up, showing exactly how it can be transformed into a beautiful piece? Thank you! Thank you for the time you've put into this, Paula. Thank you for addressing the "artist tantrums," and love your preservance to finish- each one was so worth finishing and the last one, was actually one of my favorites as it came together. I'm looking forward to watching your videos for a long time to come, and please be patient with how imperfect youtube can be... your content is what we need more of.
Thank you so much. You gave me an ephiany!! Flaws in our art are just like the flaws in ourselves. They do not make us unredeamable, just unfinished. ❤❤❤
My perfectionism is always getting in my way. Thank you for your ideas, but just as importantly thank you for talking about moving through the ugly or unplanned part of a project and just riding it through to see where it takes you. I loved this video😊
You are super welcome! I’m slowly walking away from perfectionism keeping me still! My perfectionism had me worried that what I can create can’t match what I can create; now I care more about fun!
Just discovered you today Paula! Every one of these play pieces, turned out so amazingly cool, just loved every one of them! Thanks so very much Paula. Now Im going to check out your site, and see more of your lovely creations!
Love what you say about “seeing it through before having an artistic tantrum.” As a very wise artist once said, “ If you don’t like it, you aren’t finished yet.” 😉 This has been so true for me.
Thank you for being honest. The first painting with the hiccup you didn't like, you were honest about how you had to process that. As a baby painter, it's refreshing to know even professionals struggle with the process. But as you said "trust the process"
Fabulous! Thank you Paula for sharing your ideas. You have helped me through a bad patch of illness that made me feel useless. Not any more! I shall be sweeping colours and inking first thing in the morning! ❤Love your art! Best wishes, Sheila in Yorkshire uk x
Welcome Sheila and thank you so much for sharing! ❤️ if you want please send me what you e created and I can share it… I will be praying for your swift recovery and brighter days
LOVE them ALL! Thank you for sharing. I never know what to do or how to start... I spend more time looking for inspiration than I do making art and when I make the art, it takes me long because I keep questioning and over thinking everything :D
This was so fun! I appreciated your perspective of feeling frustrated with the “brain” thing happening to your first rainbow lines, and then how you worked it out.
I'm so glad you posted Paula. We missed you. My daughters and I absolutely adore your videos and enjoy watching your process. I love how honest you are about your work and doubting yourself sometimes and how you can turn that around to make something so wonderful! You are so talented and seem to be just a beautiful person inside and out ❤ Please keep your content coming because we truly LOVE it.
Love your ideas of just sketching whatever! I still find myself at 61 sketching whatever comes into my head or like this just drawing lines and seeing what I can make from them. Very relaxing! Thanks for more creative ideas.
I enjoyed this video! So much fun. Therapeutic and sparking new ideas. It's great to get away from talking and thinking. Go color let it flow...thanks. ❤😉👍❤
I really love how you took what was an unexpected result or ‘mistake’ and turned it into an even better piece of art. Watching this video of yours reminded me of a Bob Ross quote: -“There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.” I think that quote perfectly fits the “mistake” you encountered with the Rainbow Lines watercolor painting. I love this video and I’ll be subscribing! Thanks!,,!,
Wonderful video, thank you. And how lovely to see you. I get so fed up with videos where we just see annoying hands flapping about and covering the work. Beautiful!! 🎉❤
Everyone has that “start over” feeling: whether it’s re-doing the bathroom, writing an essay for class, painting, drawing, it’s called “the muck in the middle”. Usually about the pre-to-halfway mark. It’s universal. The “starting a new project” excitement begins to wane and we ask: what have I gotten myself into? But “you’re just as far in as you’ll ever be out” may as well continue on, bc if you start over, you’ll end up in the same place.
That rainbow had me totally hooked!! 🌈 I love it!! 🥰 The big flower is really awesome as well!! 🌺 Every single one of these would make gorgeous wall art!! ❤️ Thank you for making simple ideas for sketchbooks!! 🤗 Total novice here! 😅 What will you do with the alcohol ink background? It is kind of cool in negative, but I know you could paint white or black over it to add something different to that side. I responded to your Create this Book poll. I kind of know how much time and effort you and pressure you put into each page. Please don't overwhelm yourself to make one of those each week. Your sketchbook and other art items are incredible and worthy of being out here. 👍 Please make what makes you happy and not stressed. If you are having fun, we will enjoy it!! 😄 Algorithms are stupid... Remember, any negative comments are still engagement and more of a reflection of the people posting the comment than any worthy criticism of your art. Big hugs!! 🫂 You've got this! 👏👏
Awwww thank you so much!!! 🥰❤️❤️ I’m not sure yet what I’ll do with that ink that bled through but I’m totally going to use! I feel I need to not look at it for a little while, for something different from what I did with the pen to pop up! I was initially thinking white ink but maybe I’ll go for color just to see what happens ! Thanks for the support! ❤️ it truly gives me more thank you could imagine! After my little break I’m eager to go back to the book; even if the next prompt is to draw realism and we know that one is gonna take longer lol! I have a few other things coming that I just can’t wait to share with you! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Just came across this today. I LOVE these ideas. I've been away from watercolor for awhile. I will definitely be trying these to get back to it. Thank you!
I also am happy I found your channel. Yes! Please do some abstract!❤️ I especially like your little extra of showing the painting/drawing enlarged on the wall.
So happy i found your channel also but I’d love to know what kind of sketch book you’re using; checked in your supplies link but could not see it? The book you’ve chosen seems to take water colour well so it can’t be just a basic sketch book..thank you for answering! Loved this video!!
Thank you Paula! I needed this so badly, just dodnt know it, i too am hit by terminal cancer found out 3 years ago! Being positive has been my greatest achievement to date, blessed to wake up each morning, but my art has suffered the most😢 i havent had the energy or strength to stand at my easel and paint with my beloved oils. Now you've opened up a new door for me, tho o dont have watercolours, I'll try with my Acrylic pens and see how they go, i may even buy a cheap watercolour set to try, I'm not very patient with the drying time though, i usually work alla prima (wet in wet) with my oils. But its great to try something new eh? Thanks again Paula, I've subbed you, ill be spending the drying time watching all your videos!😂 Take care and thanks, youve given me so much hope! God bless! 😘😘😘❤️Chez in Lliria Valencia Spain ❤😘😘😘
My dear Chez thank you so much for taking the time to share and all your beautiful words! What an honor that my little creations have inspired you to do art for yourself with other media, any media! I am humbled and grateful ❤️ Have you used your paint markers on magazines? Is one of my favorite things to do because it’s fun and not stressful because of the simplicity of the media… let me know if you try it! Sending tons of love and prayers your way! ❤️❤️❤️
Sorry for my English ( just in case hehe) but yeah… I have to say that I really appreciate the way you tell us how you felt doing those paints and how you wanted to give up about some of them because you didn’t like at first. I feel always like that and it’s cool that you show us that if we continue, we can have something very nice at the end. So thanks a lot😊✨💕
Gracias Camila! Jaja; bienvenida! ❤️
I like referring clients to videos like this because they are simple to do with accessible materials. The positive effect on mood and mental wellness is relevant to my work with clients. Thank you for posting.
Thank you so much for sharing that with me! 🥰 it makes me really happy to know I can help someone besides myself to heal with art and fun joy in it! ❤️
Thank you so much. This is so inspirational and thank you for your vulnerability in talking about how you really feel. The exercises were both freeing and beautiful, connecting to the audience in such a caring way.
I watched this whole video without skipping through it and it made me really want to try these!!! Theres nothing more frustrating than when you want to somehow express yourself or just distract yourself, and you just don’t feel happy with anything you’re drawing This helped a lot, thank you! Lots of love from one Paula to another ☺️
Hey Paula! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m so happy you enjoyed the video and yup I know the feeling very well so I truly know these help to release expectations and focus on the fun 😊
It was so much relatable on the fact that u said that “ it’s wrong I should tear it and pretend like nothing never happened and I should start again” it happens with me every time loved they way u inspired me and I love you art! ♥️
You are so very inspiring. I just lost my life companion of 53 years and have been drowning in grief and loss. I’ve painted with watercolor my whole life and love the process but have lost my way these last 6 months. Your way of jumping starting creativity has given me a big jolt that this is something I can do again. I’m 85 and having a difficult time but hopefully this will help fill my lonely days. Thanks. LaVonne Francis
Dear LaVonne I’m so so sorry for your loss; can’t even begin to imagine the immense void your partner left. I’m sending much love your way ❤️ I know this is something you can do for yourself and I’m sure you’ll be surprised at the results😊 Please if there’s something I can do to help you cope, let me know; maybe you want ideas with a specific material? I’m game to create a video for you! Big big hug (if that’s allowed) ❤️
I absolutely loved watching this, and it truly sparked creativity in me. Lately I feel very blocked, so I honestly felt very grateful for the inspiration!
I've been frustrated to the point where I am not able to create. I find it hard to focus and concentrate when that inside mind voice is in its chaotic state. Ughhh!! Yet, I think your ideas will help me get a grip on that voice to quiet it for a little while. Thank you for sharing those ideas on filling a journal/sketchbook page. I especially liked the monochromatic leaves, the doodling circles and tree paintings. A little inspiration from you to everyone, but especially for me, is immensely appreciated. This is the first time I've seen your channel and I'm happy to have found it. From the bottom of my heart to the very top of it, thank you. ❤😊
Hi!! Welcome!!! Thank you so much for sharing and your kind words 😊 please update me on how it’s going with your art practice! I’ve been there; so I really really hope these helped ❤️
Would be very classy linen, like this as a border on a tablecloth. All of her paintings were great! She has a mind for composition, which does improve over time, imo.
I've never seen anyone else do the neurographical art. I didn't even know it was an actual thing, it was just a way I started doodling years ago in high school and always loved to do. Fun to know that it's actually a thing!!
I absolutely love love the reverse painting of the hearts that you did! Of course I loved them all, but this one was my ultimate favorite. It reminded me of a bokeh effect on your painting and I was just mesmerized at all the different colors that kept being pushed into the background but you could still see them when looking into your little heart windows. I’m certainly going to have to give this one a shot. I also loved the neurographica piece too. I’m not kidding when I say I loved them all. Every time I start to compliment one of them I think of another one I really liked in this video. Lol that’s why it’s way easier to say I truly enjoyed each one of them. Thanks so much for the inspiration. 🥰😎👍🏻👍🏻🫶🏻
Those are all great ideas. so pretty! and I agree, they'd all make awesome wall art! 💖 and yes, I'd enjoy a video about Wall art ideas. 😃👍 I really enjoyed this video. and I would love to see more like this. 🙂👍
Haha thank you! ❤️🥰🥰 Actually now that I’ve done one with blobs I’m thinking some beautiful art can come out of those and that I could play in different ways! But sometimes it’s hard to put that distance between me and the project to reflect when I’m in the middle of it 🙈 I’m glad I pressed on and that you liked them 🥰
I was watching this with my 10yo and 6yo and when you mentioned the "artistic tantrums" they both looked at me meaningfully because they are both prone to that! Thank you for bringing up the struggles in the process and not only the stunning outcomes. This is probably the most useful and practical art video we've ever watched, and even my eldest, who is not very into art, said there were lots of ideas we could do. Mentioning the benefits for the brain and wellbeing also encourage the more left-brained amongst us to make time for art. Thank you!
Hi Susan!!! Thank you so much for sharing and all your kind words! ❤️ I’m glad sharing my tantrums resonates and there’s ideas you can all try together, have fun!!!
I really enjoyed this. The 1st rainbow one reminded me of reverse coloring which I've only dabbled a bit in Spark before it was shut down, but lately have been wanting to try more. The reverse/negative heart painting really surprised me as I don't think I've seen it done before but I totally love the concept.💛Also I think a lot of us can relate to the 5th sketchbook idea, I know I can. It was very satisfying to watch it be drawn out and hear the idea behind it.😊 This video got me remembering how I would just mindlessly draw/color as a kid which was so fun. What I remember doing a lot was either all these crossing lines I'd draw out then fill in each empty space with a different color pencil trying to not have the same color touching or making mazes (was/am totally obsessed with Labyrinth). I would try doing I guess 2d aerial versions of what I would imagine was really 3d in my head.
I loved the ideas you used as a kid! Just reading your description got my creative juices flowing! You know as an adult I have lately been enjoying both regular and reverse coloring SO much! Traditional coloring makes me deeply happy and makes me feel fulfilled while reverse coloring does wonders to relieve anxiety and change my mood if I’m not calm. I had no idea they ended up shutting down spark! That’s a bummer! I loved the idea! In any case know you can always make your own reverse coloring pages and it’s really nice! ❤️
I know what you mean, that's what's really cool about watching all this art content...it helps create inspiration. Yep, though I feel like I will have to zone out so I don't force a specific image lol. Makes me think of doing like a watercolor abstract exchange where two people each make an abstract watercolor then swap & reverse color what they got. Actually I really liked doing that in Spark; I would try to do the reverse coloring prompt blind but after I finished I really liked seeing what other people made out of the same starting point.😀
@@frankie1717 you know what; if you dilute the watercolor enough, even if you paint something with intent it will dry into different shapes… I did a page full of hearts once, and it changes so much when dried; perfect for reverse coloring!
This video is so satisfying to watch filling a skeckbook video I feel like I have to get my own sketchbook and easily fill my own sketchbook I love the rainbow watercolor painting that you did its colorful.
Here’s a video explaining how I show my sketchbook pages on walks: ruclips.net/video/lShy2vwINbk/видео.htmlsi=ym9V7a0W2bsUBTP3

Am I the only one who loves paint blooms? They are like abstract flowers to me...
Nope...I love them too
I love , love , love them. 🥰🤗🙊
Me, too!
I was going to say the same thing. I loved how that first painting looked with the blooms!
Definitely not alone. I love them too! Love their texture & especially their edges
Yes, please do a video on abstract art for the home! I loved these ideas - thank you!
Will do!!☺
I want that too❤❤❤
Yes, please do abstract art for home.
Yes Id also love to see that
In the first piece when you mess up but go with it, it reminds me of the best piece of art advice I’ve ever heard. When you mess up get excited. That switch in mindset helped me improve tremendously and I enjoy art more. Mistakes give us opportunity you never ever would have had. It’s also why I love drawing and doodling in pen you learn to incorporate your mistakes.
Oh I love that!!! Excited for it already! Thanks! ❤️
I love that! It gives you permission and after, you become less and less judgemental. Love it!
@@cosmicmauve I think I am, like these exercises or free play make me less stressed on canvas 😊
So happy you liked them! Yes the bleeding is always somehow beautiful 😊
Me, too! I was coming here to say that!
ikr? it makes me want to do the same exact drawing but on the other side of the page because of how much it bleeds through. its cool!!
Same, lol
That's funny, I wondered how I missed it!
This RUclips video is a true blessing, turning my screen into a source of visual delight.
As are your kind words! Thank you!
Love all the ideas and seeing the large versions in rooms was amazing
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed them! This week I am taking some of what I tried on these pages onto my large canvas! 😊those mockups inspired me a lot too!
that was so cool!! i had no idea how much you could elevate a piece by blowing up the size
Don’t ever be afraid. We don’t have to love everything you do, you don’t have to love everything you do. It’s the fact that you create & inspire others as well as yourself that is the best part - plus you create some awesome images & they would make great art prints!
Thank you so much for your beautiful kind words dear Allison! They are super encouraging and fuel me so so much! ❤️🥰
I think you’re a wonderful talented person. Don’t doubt yourself or allow anyone else’s opinion change how you feel about yourself. You had the courage to start a RUclips page and showcase your work. I think you are AMAZING ❤
My inner artist has been dormant and this video is waking her up. Thank you!
Oh yessssssss!!! Wakey wakey! Time to play!!!!🙌🏻❤️ thank you! 😊
@@bycreativepaula Thank you for your generosity and authenticity ❤️
Me, too!
My daughter has left the couch for her sketch book & watercolors. Thank you🤍
Ok, that has to be the best comment ever! Thank you so much for sharing that with me! I hope she enjoyed playing with her supplies 😊❤️🥰
OMG OMG OMG!!!!! I’m so glad I came across this video. I’ve been sick for a year with chemo therapy and cancer surgery and I need something to get me back into painting. Chemo makes you feel that everything is impossible but this shows me I can do just anything and have fun!!!!! 🎉
Awwe. Sweet that you are inspired. GOD bless sweetheart . Keep believing and keep creating ❤
thank you so much for taking the time to share ❤️ I really think once we switch the perspective from “result” to “fun” art does what it’s supposed too and feeds our souls! Sending tons of love ❤️ and praying for your swift recovery
Wishing you a speedy creative recovery 🙏 🖌 🎨 🖼 📖 🖊
Praying for you ❤
Keep fighting the fight honey!
Go for it! You’ll enjoy it so much too and telling people you made it will be an instant conversation starter! So fun!
❤❤❤!!!!@@bycreativepaula
I did a few of these on my lunch break today and you're right. They do satisfy without eating into time. I even combined a few (flowers in circles) and added a further pen colour into the equation (white posco for added highlights). Cheers for the hints and tips.
I’m so happy you enjoyed the process and making it your own! Thank you so much for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
omg adding white pen over top for highlights is hitting my brain just the right way, I can incision that so hard--especially over the floral designs?? YES
Time to go from sketchbook to canvas. Esp the little petite ones. How much fun this is.
😮 Oops I just realized that I put my comment above this under replies! Sorry about that. I hope you see it!
Thank you for sharing, I can stop criticizing my art and just trust the process🌺🌺🌺
Loved every page! 1st time I've seen your work and wow what an inspiration you are.
Thank you so much!❤️
I would like to see more of these types of videos. I am always running out of sketch book ideas
Will do! Thank you so much!❤
Me, too! I searched and found a bunch after I saw this the other day, but I like yours best!
Me too
Love love love these simple yet beautiful ideas
Love these ideas. Neurographic art is awesome.
It is !!! Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Dana
Dana, I am so sorry to hear about your accidents, sending much love ❤️ thanks for sharing with me, you’ve brought me so much joy by knowing this video has given you permission to create and explore and use all of those art supplies in ANY way that brings you comfort
Please continue to remember it’s not about the end result but about enjoying the process in the time you carved out for yourself!
I totally agree! And thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for all your beautiful words Kate! They are super encouraging and I’m beyond grateful! ❤️❤️❤️ so happy to have you here!
I would love to see tutorials for easy abstract art for the home! Thank you!
Me too!!❤
Yes! I will for sure be making that video! Just bear with me because I think it will happen somewhere in may 🫣
Me three
Me four!
Amazing. Could you do a more detailed tutorial on the negative painting please. Also, absolutely yes to a video about abstract art ❤
Absolutely! Thank you so much! I will put both videos on my list!☺
Thank you so much. You gave me an ephiany!! Flaws in our art are just like the flaws in ourselves. They do not make us unredeamable, just unfinished. ❤❤❤
Love that! Thank you!
Hi Lynn! Thank you for your kind words and welcome!! ❤️❤️❤️
Me, too! Grateful for whatever the algorithm was doing this week.
The negative side of the red and yellow flower actually looks super cool!
Newbie here. Love these examples! Thank you for sharing!
Me too! I just happened upon this! Thank you so much for sharing! I enjoyed you very much!
Love what you say about “seeing it through before having an artistic tantrum.” As a very wise artist once said, “ If you don’t like it, you aren’t finished yet.” 😉 This has been so true for me.
Oh I love that! ❤️That is so true! Sometimes just a few more minutes or another layer can change everything!
Thank you!!!
the 3rd page with the flowers is so good!
Thank you!!
Thank you for being honest. The first painting with the hiccup you didn't like, you were honest about how you had to process that. As a baby painter, it's refreshing to know even professionals struggle with the process. But as you said "trust the process"
Thank you so much! I’m glad this helped! ❤️
Fabulous! Thank you Paula for sharing your ideas. You have helped me through a bad patch of illness that made me feel useless. Not any more! I shall be sweeping colours and inking first thing in the morning! ❤Love your art! Best wishes, Sheila in Yorkshire uk x
You are here for a purpose. Let your artistic desires flow. You got this girl ❤
You are so welcome! ❤️ don’t worry either time and practice you’ll let go of the end result and focus on YOUR fun! That’s what’s really important!
@@bycreativepaula gracias!
Thank you Creative Paula you are such an inspiring artist we love these and the effect of seeing your art in context is so powerful.
Thank you so much! Love your app!
This was so fun! I appreciated your perspective of feeling frustrated with the “brain” thing happening to your first rainbow lines, and then how you worked it out.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
I'm so glad you posted Paula.
Thank you so much! 🥰 I find your beautiful words super encouraging ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely love this! My brain felt like exploding with ideas❤
Oh I’m so happy it did! That’s exactly the purpose! 😊 thanks!
Watching this video of yours reminded me of a Bob Ross quote:
-“There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.”
I think that quote perfectly fits the “mistake” you encountered with the Rainbow Lines watercolor painting. I love this video and I’ll be subscribing! Thanks!,,!,
Hi!! Welcome!!! ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much!!! ☺️
Wonderful video, thank you. And how lovely to see you. I get so fed up with videos where we just see annoying hands flapping about and covering the work. Beautiful!! 🎉❤
Oh thank you!☺I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That’s so interesting, thanks for sharing! ❤️ it kinda gives you even more perspective to buckle up and carry on
That rainbow had me totally hooked!!
@@bycreativepaula You are very welcome! 😍🤗

I also am happy I found your channel. Yes! Please do some abstract!❤️ I especially like your little extra of showing the painting/drawing enlarged on the wall.
Thank you so much ❤️ welcome!
So happy i found your channel also but I’d love to know what kind of sketch book you’re using; checked in your supplies link but could not see it? The book you’ve chosen seems to take water colour well so it can’t be just a basic sketch book..thank you for answering! Loved this video!!
Hi!!! Sorry to say mine is made locally… 250gf watercolor paper… but I’m ordering a similar one I found on Amazon to give it a go in a future video 😊
I love these ideas! Thanks for sharing! ❤
You are so welcome!❤️❤️❤️
Feeling very inspired to just do something in my new blank sketchbook. Thankyou. I will be watching and re-watching this to try these out. X
Yay so glad! Have fun! ❤️
I am humbled and grateful ❤️
Have you used your paint markers on magazines? Is one of my favorite things to do because it’s fun and not stressful because of the simplicity of the media… let me know if you try it!

love that you keep trying and dont give up when youre not liking a picture you are doing...i give up way too easily...def inspired now

Thanks. Thank you for sharing. I've been wanting to start painting but I had no idea where to begin. Now I do. Have a great day.
You are so welcome! ❤️ I hope you’ve already started!
I think you do a GREAT JOB! i rarely get to watch these or I’d watch all you have! Great job across the board
Thank you so much! You are really nice 😊
Very inspiring. Just bought a new sketchbook and couldn’t get started until I saw your video. Thanks
I’m so happy you are going to use it now! ❤️ thanks!
This makes me want to find and use my watercolors again!
I love your positive attitude. I especially liked the negative hearts…❤❤❤

Loved it, thank you! I’d love to see a session on abstract drawing and painting!
Coming soon! And thank you! ❤️
Oh … NOW I’m inspired!
Yay! In glad! 😊
I love them all but my favorite is the blue with leaves!!
Thank you! I really want to play more with monochromatic ideas!
It is actually a great thing! It relaxes me so much I thought I’d pass it on! Thanks again!
Wow Amelia thank you so much for all your kind words! ❤️ I really find encouragement in them! 🥰
These are all beautiful and creative… I love them all!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much Susan! 😊
Those are all great ideas. so pretty! and I agree, they'd all make awesome wall art! 💖

I liked the blots immediately, actually. I’m glad you kept them!
Haha thank you! ❤️🥰🥰
Actually now that I’ve done one with blobs I’m thinking some beautiful art can come out of those and that I could play in different ways! But sometimes it’s hard to put that distance between me and the project to reflect when I’m in the middle of it 🙈 I’m glad I pressed on and that you liked them 🥰
Wonderful ideas. Thank you. You have inspired me. I've liked & subscribed. Greetings from Ireland. 👍🇮🇪
Thanks for subbing and welcome!!! 😊
CREATIVE GENIUS 😁 ARTIST ARE EVERYWHERE 😁❤❤❤ HI GENIUS PAULA ❤❤❤😁
Oh wow Malcolm! Thank you so much! 😊
It was very satisfying to watch it be drawn out and hear the idea behind it.😊
This video got me remembering how I would just mindlessly draw/color as a kid which was so fun.
@@frankie1717 you know what; if you dilute the watercolor enough, even if you paint something with intent it will dry into different shapes…
I did a page full of hearts once, and it changes so much when dried; perfect for reverse coloring!
Thanks for the tip😊OH, will that be an example in the next sketchbook ideas video? It would be cool to see an example like the hearts you mentioned.
@@frankie1717 oh man sadly I didn’t think about it! But maybe a third edition 😜
This video is so satisfying to watch filling a skeckbook video I feel like I have to get my own sketchbook and easily fill my own sketchbook I love the rainbow watercolor painting that you did its colorful.
So happy you liked it! Having a sketchbook is so much fun!
I'm pretty sure it is fun to do a sketch book.
@@amyember yes! I hope you do get one! Let me know and if you want me to share anything you create you can send it through my insta!
Aww thank you!
What brand is the sketchbook that you use, may I ask?😅
Your pages as wall art are quite beautiful.
Thank you so much!😊❤️
Great ideas!!! I cannot wait to try every one of them! Thank you for sharing!❤
