It's actually pretty understandable. Time dialates due to distance and sound doesnt travel that fast relatively speaking. Have you ever clapped around a space with a cement wall and heard the echo slightly behind your initial clap? You could be 20 ft from a wall and the echo will have a noticible latency. And this stadium is huge!
What’s weird is Dave was the drummer when he lost his lead singer… now Dave is the lead singer and he lost his drummer… both will never be forgotten…. I stayed home from work the day Kurt died… I watched MTV all that day.. ( that’s when MTV still played music.) They played tons of nirvana that day… well maybe they did.. I remember drinking a lot of beer that day cause I wanted to drown my sorrows… now… I just cried when I heard Taylor passed… also the funny thing.. I watched the video he did about the master class drumming the night before…
I remember rolling into bed, checking my messages & emails, and audibly saying "oh shit." My wife - who'd been sleeping - asked if everything was ok. Told her yes, but that Taylor Hawkins had died, and then had to explain who he was. "So sorry, babe," she replied in her slumber. Ten minutes later..."wait...the drummer from Foo Fighters died? The blonde guy?"
@Kurt Lamprecht if that's your takeaway, maybe you missed the point. Which is that people who know almost nothing of the Foo Fighters were affected by Hawkins' death even if they didn't know his name.
It's perfect, like I love that Dave did it by himself and there were no drums, this is the first time I've cried to music and I'm glad it was this, this was beautiful, I wish I could have been there in person, can't imagine what it's like to lose 2 best friends so young. I'm glad he's still fighting on.
Having Dave play this alone, and especially without the drums, makes this such a powerful performance. You can just feel what's missing, but the music still lives on.
And he’s been throwing around crocodile tears making bank of his death. Taylor deserves peace. Zep called it quits when Bonham died. This is blasphemy.
This has always been one of my favorite songs. I love the audience singing with him it was beautiful. The video was great, i felt like i was there and thank you for sharing.
Painful. But Dave and the crowd are helping each other through it all. As painful as it is, this is truly a memorable tribute to our beloved legend Taylor Hawkins.
I'm having a hard enough time watching this without Taylor. I couldn't imagine performing it without him... *RIP Taylor Hawkins.* Born: February 17, 1972 Died: March 25, 2022 Much love to his wife, Alison and his kids: Oliver Shane Hawkins, Annabelle Hawkins, Everleigh Hawkins
Thank you for texting Taylor Hawkins’ dates and family. He was born when I was a junior in high school , so he coukd have been like the age of a little brother maybe.
Everyone there felt his pain. At least one person at that concerts lost a friend. I can attest I’ve lost several. So this song hits different after not being able to listen to it with them anymore. And on top of that no drums and not rhythm guitar. Just hit wayyy different
Taylors death is as tragic as any other in his position and my heart goes out to Dave and It must be difficult going up on that stage without him, but It warms my heart and makes me happy that they didn't break up the band. Taylor wouldn't have wanted that. At least I would hope not.
Yes, he is a survivor. I'm sending everything positive to the new FF. I believe in Dave but he's human and these deaths are hard hitters. Don't forget he lost his Mom 2022. They were very close. I heard he put out a concert schedule for 2023 and when he did he said FF is a new band now. Dave, I and so many others are here for you. Especially your higher power dear man.
The musicians and fans came out to support and it was a beautiful thing. Thank you Dave for showing your integrity and love in the most difficult time in your life. I lost one of my BF and my Mother it beyond heartbreak. You are truly amazing to not postpone and make this about Taylor. So in your nature. You are a beautiful person. You are your mother’s son through and through. Both will be loved forever.
Dave was made to stand last. The tougher one. He's the coolest. Must have a heavy heart. I belive God's given him what it takes to go on. Only Dave has friends like that. Unforgettable. Forever.
I think this is part of the Taylor Hawkin's tribute concert. I saw it last week, I had Tivo'd it. I bawled like a baby. When Dave sang "Times like these", he cried too. It was just so great to see how many musicians had ended up performing too. BUT, the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert that I had Tivo'd was only 1 hour long. SO, I am kinda thinking that now, after seeing THIS performance that I had been cheated out of a good bit of extra concert. But, what can you do anyway? I am glad that I can see it all here. Taylor's son just may end up being the Foo's next drummer. Well, maybe in 10 years or so, he is still so young. But, he is a great drummer. He played drums on "my hero". I do wonder IF the Foo's will end up making more music, OR if they will end up making a new band, and keeping all of most of their band members.
My heart goes out to Taylor's family and to Dave. Life is f##kin funny sometimes... you stay positive and PLEASE KEEP MAKING MUSIC!!! It will NEVER be the same without Taylor. But your an amazing artist ❤️
I played this song for my school talent show and guess who won, me. I played this song for Taylor and Taylor only. I didn’t know him personally and same with him. Rest In Paradise Taylor Hawkins 😢😢
To Dave Grohl ,I feel you're pain.I can hear it in your voice.I to lost my best friend at 50 years old 25th July 2020.It's tough but Taylor Hawking's will live on in our hearts and minds forever. My Deepest condolences. My heart goes out to you all.Take the very best care of yourself Dave.Foo Fighters Forever...Peace Brother & dont stop playing. We love you all.x

I couldn't imagine being Dave going through this without Taylor after all the years they played this song together.
Yeah not hearing the drums must've hit different that night.
Or going through this at all😔love ya Dave😪We're (your fans) are here for ya!!
so what... taylor was a junkie
Dave has to hang this up , he's been through so much in life as a fan you don't see the whole picture !
@mary jane AMEN!!! 🙏😇❤️
I love how the crowd all at the same time realized they were going faster than the beat and just collectively stopped.
It's one of my pet peeves that people attempt to clap along with the beat. They're usually off beat.
how are they all so off every time
@@springdalton7417 lmao
I just wanted them to shut the hell up the entire time
Cool name.
It’s amazing that so many people can clap together but at the wrong tempo.

You had to be that guy didn’t you Jimmy?
The doppler effect throws everyone off.
Or just shut up because he started singing. Both times! Duh!
@@wyattgranger5870 it's also much harder to lock into tempo without the drummer providing strong downbeat and backbeats

yeah, dead people don't play drums. The coffin is to small/
@@Marklennon Dead Can Dance, but they can't play drums.

My hero with Shane and this version of everlong are without question the biggest emotional 1 2 combo in musical history.
I could feel the heart break and pain from both Dave and the crowd. Its hit the heart hard after listening to Foo Fights my entire life.
And he’s been throwing around crocodile tears making bank of his death. Taylor deserves peace. Zep called it quits when Bonham died. This is blasphemy.
the crowd singing brings shivers. how beautiful
Foo Fighters: We wanna put on the best rock show for our best friend.

Dave is a strong artist and a tuff man he's went through a lot of lost but he has for sure lived his life to the fullest.
and he is still living it/ life 🙂

Dave played Everlong himself on the album because it wasn't sounding right. He is a survivor. Always has been...Foreverlong.
