I wish I could find anything that makes me as happy as Nandi looks playing drums here. Her scream during the build up at the end is one of the best things I've ever seen in my life.
I love how she starts twirling the drum stick like she is revving and winding up like she about to bring the thunder. Then totally delivers. Taylor watches like his job is slipping away.
Take it from a long time drummer: it might seem simple in terms of notation but this song takes serious practice and stamina. For her age, playing that live in front of thousands is beyond impressive.
Can you imagine being 11 years old and keeping time for one of the biggest rock bands in the world? If she’s this good now, I can’t wait to see where she is in 10 years. The look of pure unrestrained joy on her face is fantastic.
Going to be interesting to see if she continues in rock drumming or venture into something more jazz oriented. She certainly will be able to write her own ticket.
Rock god/dad hybrid energy. Best part was he didn’t describe her as a little kid, just “nemesis, rival, badass” - if you didn’t know the story you wouldn’t know she’s a kid until she comes out of stage. Legend.
When things like this get thumbs down, I remind myself that some people don’t like pizza, ice cream, puppies and sunshine. It makes me smile like those things do.
No its just we have seen kids her age a million times better. But she's a girl and black so she's some sensation. No dues payed at all. Its why rock is rapidly becoming so uncool.
@@breal1183 She is a fantastic drummer for any age. And if we are gonna be real, if we closed our eyes and just listen to the song would we know it wasn't Taylor? For a few seconds a lot of people thought they both were playing. My ears tell me she did a damn good job. If all my eyes can see is a 'black girl' then I must be blind. A kid who doesn't wanna to take up turntable or mac for an instrument is a very cool thing. I watched grown ass men cry at the Forum as she played...also a very cool thing.

Just B (ing) Real you a racist misogynistic child of a person.
Y'know...it's not really rational for me to feel so ridiculously happy and proud for someone I've never even met...but I do. This is the second version of this I've seen today (the first was on her channel...probably her dad recording from far stage left.) Grinning even wider now. No matter what else happens today, this is gonna be a happy day for me.
I know one thing, Nandi probably healed a lot of sad people in the world just by sharing her amazing video's (with and without Dave Grohl). In the peak of covid I discovered her channel and I followed her on both youtube and facebook ever since. The personality, musical skill Nandi has is simply empowering and healing (yes, healing....she made many people feel better after having a shitty day).
Exact same here. Saw the Nandi's Dad recording from way to the side first. Hours later bumped into this one and watched it. Freakin' teared up both times. I'm not sure what it is. It has something to do with unadulterated anti-sarcastic anti-ironic pure love & joy - love of music - the joy of achievement and of life. It sounds as soppy as it is I suppose but bottle it up because the world needs it.
She couldn’t have had a harder Foos song to play to, and she absolutely nailed it. Those 16ths were sensational and the rolls in the pre chorus and the chorus itself were to die for. Well done to that young lady
And this is a perfect example of why the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl are a class act. Not many examples of bands willing to let unknown musicians share in their limelight. This young lady is on her way to great things. But no coming experience will ever come close to leaving her feeling like she did last night on the stage at the Los Angeles Forum.
@@rdmatthews2 She's a precious fucking rockstar! And so is Dave! Two absolutely precious, joy-filled, rocking-the-fuck-out souls up there on that stage!!!
There's something that's just so pure and good about this whole interaction. The sheer joy on her face is amazing. Watch out Taylor... she's coming for your job. Love it.
Dave is so incredibly generous in this moment. He brings Nandi on stage and elevates her above absolute rock legends. This is the nicest, kindest guy in rock &roll.
Absolutely agree 110% - he is an incredible person to ensure this young musician has the opportunity to do this with a very famous band. Wonderful in the extreme.
I discovered Nandi two years ago. Since then she has received gifts from Dave and others of different instruments. Bass, 6 string guitars, trumpet, all which she promptly figured out how to play exceptionally well. Check out her page where she plays all instrument songs. Dave is correct: She is the real deal!
Been following her for 2 years too, and I am watching this with tears in my eyes as if I'm her aunt. So proud. Her parents must be so so proud. She is fan-tas-tic! The next Sheila E. OR maybe even better ..♥️
In tears... Dave's right. Seeing this whole Nandi-Dave challenge over the past year has been an immense source of joy for me and, I'm sure, many, many others.
She just keeps improving. And, I know she's played that song a ton, but to absolutely nail it, live, is a huge task. And she nailed the fuck out of it.
I love how Grohl puts kids on stage with him in front of huge crowds. This one is great. Nandi kicks it. She’s a natural. I love how she flips her sticks. The crowd shouting her name doesn’t faze her at all. Dave is just himself. The F bombs fly. He’s brilliant and cares about music especially with young kids.
I love how much he obviously respects her. It would be so easy for this to be a gimmick, like “isn’t it cute that this kid plays the drums,” but no. He recognizes and treats her as a fellow musician. It’s wonderful to see.
@Amy McGraw-Pate why did he have to say "black girl magic", what if it said "white girl magic " or "biracial girl magic"( which she appears to be). I was curious, that is why I asked about it. why is it mentioned?
This shit made me cry like a baby. The pride her parents must feel, the feelings, experience and memories she this girl gained. As a musician and a parent this just turned me soft. I absolutely love Dave for this.
Same. I am a guitarist and have been teaching my daughters. My six year old absolutely loves it, but her 3/4 scale electric is still a little heavy for her so we keep lessons short for now.
For all the people that gave a thumbs down....who pissed in your coffee? This video has made me smile more than anything lately. How generous of the Foo Fighters and how fantastic for this young girl. Shows hope in this crazy world.❤
when I saw Taylor kneel down to greet Nandi on stage before he passed, I saw a man greater than just a great drummer, singer, a true artist. but some how in that moment, he passed his SPIRT.. he's still ALIVE FOREVER in all young drummers........
Right there with you! Who could dislike this? She is pure Joy in an 11-year-old body. Plus genius! Although I have to say, I have not been a Foo Fighters music fan, but if Nandi Bushell loves them this much, maybe I ought to listen closer!
There's a poster upthread who claimed it wasn't worthy of a thumbs up because "there are a million other people out there with more talent who don't get the same opportunities because they're not kids or black" Yes, some people really are that joyless and bitter 🤷♂️
@@L_M_C Yeah I saw that one..anyone who's ever picked up an instrument in whatever capacity and thought they were going to rock themselves into royalty and riches (if that's what the dipshits tantrum is about) knows damn well that there are literally millions of people that are incredibly talented musically and also millions of them who won't "make it". The difference maker pretty much always is doing it at the right place and time, but most critically in front of the right person(s)....and taking advantage of it.
I couldn't agree more!
She is bad a$$!!! She doesn't look tired, and it's clear she is having the time of her life! Child prodigy for sure!
Nothing simple about it. I'm not a drummer but I can see its fast and the transitions are complex. I agree. Beyond impressive
Gotta love how Taylor is nodding in appreciation and respect for Nandi!
Can you imagine being 11 years old and keeping time for one of the biggest rock bands in the world? If she’s this good now, I can’t wait to see where she is in 10 years. The look of pure unrestrained joy on her face is fantastic.
Hopefully not strung out on smack like all the greats
@@pbplauralfilms You took that dark real quick.
Going to be interesting to see if she continues in rock drumming or venture into something more jazz oriented. She certainly will be able to write her own ticket.
@@jimbo029 She already plays guitar, bass, and keyboards. So, yeah.
@@princeofcupspoc9073 add saxophone to that list! :-)
@@breal1183 woooooooooooooooooow.
@@breal1183 well this "black" "girl" is definitely cooler than you. How many headlines have you made? Lets be real, B Real.
@@breal1183 Well all opinions are valid to the person spouting them. Those catch words though "she's a girl" misogynistic cause girls can't be good? Mercedes Lander for one, "black" who gives 2 shits about color but if we must go there Larnell Lewis an absolute apex predator of a drummer... happens to be black, "no dues paid" challenged Dave to a drum off in a time of despair and depression and brought happiness to people. Just B (ing) Real you a racist misogynistic child of a person.
Taylor and his son were above her
And this, is why Rock n Roll will never die.
110% True
conclusive post-mortems were conducted years ago
Nandi is a beast! That song is hard to keep up on the sticks, perfectly done!
Ikr? I never realized how freakin FAST the drums are on this song. She blew it out of the water.
The pure joy of expression on Nandi's face is breathtaking. Watching this made my entire week. It also made me cry.
You’re a monster if this didn’t make you cry,
Watching that young girl lead one of the biggest rock bands in the world…..
BRB need tissues.
Yes tears of joy.
@@Sethrickable and she didn't miss a beat
I so admire Dave for his unbridled joy of someone else having a good time.
Me too
I love how Nandi comes out and looks so in awe of what’s happening then absolutely smashes it on the drums, so epic 😁
That's Empathy, and it's a wonderful feeling 👍
I’ve been following Nandi for a couple of years and this is EPIC! Well done you! I too was screaming through the video like her dad. Made my week
This one is BETTER!!! I have seen many…. Every time i watch another…. CHILLS!!!!!!
ruclips.net/video/qWqK_5s8zVI/видео.html
The day Nandi became my drummer. Then she wrote a song for her Dad and became my favorite musician.
Just crying ....not because I'm sad, but because watching this makes me feel alive and thankful.
Nandi.....thanks. Foo Fighters....thanks.
Could not have said it better, myself..
@@markdeen9316 .....a strong and beautiful feeling... Bless
Such a sweet moment watching Taylor and Shane watching from behind the main kit. ❤❤❤❤❤
I really enjoyed the back and forth they had last year and how humble and kind Dave was. This was truly magical and Nandi absolutely nailed it!
Why am I CRYING?.... LMMFAO!!!
Amazing skills aside, can we simply all agree that this precious baby girl is the essence of joy!
She’s not a precious baby girl, she’s a fucking Rockstar!!!!!!!
@@rdmatthews2 Well said, sir! 👍
Totally and the fact it is not about her gender but her pure skills will encourage so many. Well said Sir!
@@rdmatthews2 She's a precious fucking rockstar! And so is Dave! Two absolutely precious, joy-filled, rocking-the-fuck-out souls up there on that stage!!!
Damn , I’ve watched this 30 times. I tear up uncontrollably each time. The fun, joy, and natural stage presence. Just wow.
She is incredibly talented. Her Instagram is great!
Been following her for 2 years too, and I am watching this with tears in my eyes as if I'm her aunt. So proud. Her parents must be so so proud. She is fan-tas-tic! The next Sheila E. OR maybe even better ..♥️
@@lisakobenhavn78 Oh Lisa, decidely more talent than Sheila. At her age, and considering she will rise in talent, she has no contemporaries!
@@danfeeney3519 you should check out her good friend Yoyoka from Tokyo. She's just as skilled, with a little more polish.

This kid's something special .I hope nothing in the world ever diminishes her joy. I've never been that confident about anything in my life ever.
I've been playing drums for years and my butt would drop out doing that. She was twirling her sticks like she was in her bedroom. No fear. Brilliant!
WOOOOW! That side profile just goes to show how awesome she is. She's freaking killing it.
Whoever thumbs-downed this, explain yourself.
Attention whores. Don't give them the satisfaction.
The f-bombs are the only thing about Dave grohl that I don't like other than that he is awesome.
I love how much he obviously respects her. It would be so easy for this to be a gimmick, like “isn’t it cute that this kid plays the drums,” but no. He recognizes and treats her as a fellow musician. It’s wonderful to see.
It took 4 hours for the smile to fade from my face after watching this, you killed it Nandi !
Nandi
Why am I welling with so much emotion? This kid has brought tears to my eyes. I'm so proud of her. She's fu@#ing awesome!
I am just moved to tears! RIP CHARLIE WATTS! The ROCK AND ROLL drummer legacy continues! Awesome! BLACK GIRL MAGIC!
always in tears when i see her. The new guard. Rip Master Sir Charlie Watts.
I am not one to be politically correct. Not sure why you had to inject "black gir... " though.
@Amy McGraw-Pate why did he have to say "black girl magic", what if it said "white girl magic " or "biracial girl magic"( which she appears to be). I was curious, that is why I asked about it. why is it mentioned?
I was there she was amazing. So joyful and passionate. Ill never forget that ! Thanks to foos for this moment!
She never ONCE stopped smiling!
Rock star right there, ladies and gentlemen!
I can't not watch Taylor and his son back there. Rest easy Taylor.
This shit made me cry like a baby. The pride her parents must feel, the feelings, experience and memories she this girl gained. As a musician and a parent this just turned me soft. I absolutely love Dave for this.
me too
Right there with you!
Same here man... I've been through both Nirvana and Foo Fighters and this is just so amazing. Got my crying too 😥
Same. I am a guitarist and have been teaching my daughters. My six year old absolutely loves it, but her 3/4 scale electric is still a little heavy for her so we keep lessons short for now.
Count me in on that. Moved me beyond measure.
For all the people that gave a thumbs down....who pissed in your coffee? This video has made me smile more than anything lately. How generous of the Foo Fighters and how fantastic for this young girl. Shows hope in this crazy world.❤
Beloved character in a movie I love dies : Dry Eyes. Nandi plays onstage w/ the Foo. : Water works.

That girl has MAGIC in those hands. She ROCKED that moment n FF WILL NEVER FORGET Nandi♥️🥁🥁n neither will WE!!!!!
She drummed her little heart out ❤
great stick tricks too!
foo fighter's next future drummer
When a band that arguably has two of the top 20 living drummers on it's roster puts you on stage and highlights you, you are going places.
Most definitely arguably ... but she kicked sss.
Lmao they’re not even top 100.
when I saw Taylor kneel down to greet Nandi on stage before he passed, I saw a man greater than just a great drummer, singer, a true artist. but some how in that moment, he passed his SPIRT.. he's still ALIVE FOREVER in all young drummers........
I'm not even a FF fan, but what soulless bastard could possibly give this a thumbs down?! 😍🤷🏿♂️
Right there with you! Who could dislike this? She is pure Joy in an 11-year-old body. Plus genius! Although I have to say, I have not been a Foo Fighters music fan, but if Nandi Bushell loves them this much, maybe I ought to listen closer!
I specifically scrolled down bc I knew someone HAD to have already called it out lol..like what kind of effin WORM down thumbs something like this?!?!
There's a poster upthread who claimed it wasn't worthy of a thumbs up because "there are a million other people out there with more talent who don't get the same opportunities because they're not kids or black"
Yes, some people really are that joyless and bitter 🤷♂️
@@L_M_C omfg. I didn't want to think race played a part.... But not so deep down, I knew that race played a part 😓
Trying to claim there isn't universal access to that shot in the dark isn't only absurd..it's just a gd cop-out, and I couldn't be happier she got that shot in life and the comment crybaby that got the shit ratio'd out of himself...didn't 😊💖
Taylor and Shane in the back 🥰
Whoever downvotes this video needs to go see a doctor. You are very sick. This makes me so happy I cant even put it into words.
What did I just witness?? OMG!!! She is a phenom!!
I saw this through Dad eyes and... tears. Man what a moment for such a talented little girl. Amazing.
Yeah. I’m feelin it too. She didn’t just play a song, she closed the show and took a bow with the Foo Fighters. And nailed the whole song.
Yeah I agree. The video, of this show, that Nandi posted on her RUclips channel captures her prideful dad screaming in the back. It's awesome. ruclips.net/video/fyvwLAPNfXY/видео.html
This is one of the most joyful beautiful things I have seen all decade.
It's moments like this that help you remember how much good there still in the world. Thank you Dave for who you are. Amazing job Nandi! :'-)
That look on her face as Dave screams that note and she is right there with him......that is the proof of the pudding that this young lady has music coursing through her veins. She killed it. Much respect to The Foos.
She has it alright!
11 yr old girls: 'Last night we had a party with Unicorn cakes, a sleep over and braided each others hair, painted our nails. What did you do?

Yeah, I mean she won't just drum for anyone who asks her. She deemed them worthy.
I’ve watched this particular video so many times because Taylor and Shane are up there watching her I just love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Watching Nandi play Everlong on stage with the Foo's made this day brighter and more hopeful. She is already a force to be reckoned with and I can't wait to see and support her future artistic endeavors! Thanks Dave Grohl for reminding us that Love is always the answer.
Holy smokes - what a great performance. Nandi is awesome!
I can't count how many smiles Dave has brought to my face over the past 18 months...and I've never been to one of his shows. This is right up there. Seeing how happy Nandi was, and getting a shot like that...how can you not be overcome with emotion just a little? Well done, Dave. The humble spirit he has is inspiring. And well done, Nandi. What a night.
I hope that you have the opportunity one day to see the Foo's play live. I can honestly say that my first Foo Fighters Concert was one of the best moments of my life!
The joy and love for music is written all over her face. She is already an incredible drummer, but I wish her much success
that is honestly the best part of this video. That was pure joy there.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who was tearing up watching this kid finally get to play with the Foos. Wonderful - fucking wonderful!
Yeah definitely not the only one. This little girl got all us macho rock stars bawling! Isn't it great?!
I'm in tears. Of joy. Of gratitude. Off unbelievableness. I'm happy. Thank you Dave. Thank you Nandi. Thank you rock n roll. Thank you Nandis parents. And thank you all here whose heart cries tears of joy on this. You are my tribe. Please never ever disappear.
Seeing the look on her face says it all! She is a joy to watch play! And when she screams while playing it’s makes you feel the song that much more! This girl is going to do great things!
Pure, unadulterated JOY is on her face! What a moment and what a TALENT!!!
This actually made me cry because of how happy she was.
The best part is when Taylor gives her 2 sticks to toss to the crowd, she throws one and just before she throws the second she gets his attention and asks if she can keep it!!! Awesome!
I'm not crying you're crying!
Love how she comes on stage so wide eyed, nervous, and the nails it.
Who the f*ck put thumbs down?
Amazing can't even describe it. The look of sheer joy on her face as she plays is priceless!!!
