It's so strange watching old footage like this. I recently watched another of the Foos from an old SNL taping, had to have been from 2001. They were performing "times like these" and at some point Jim Carrey crashes the stage and starts to pretend playing on a guitar using his leg while hopping around on the other. Made me laugh while at the same time my eyes started to well up with tears, because I remembered when it originally broadcasted. I was in my sophomore year visiting at my grandparents house which I typically did a lot of in my younger days. My aunt would change the channel over to it and we would all be up late together watching with pie, coffee and ice cream. Funny how certain things evoke a very specific memory that I'm sure you've all experienced as well and wish you could revisit. Anyway, thanks for listening.
I'm so used to watching performances from the 90s-early 2000s that were uploaded here years ago that I didn't realize that this was actually from 3 weeks ago
I was given a videotape from 2000 to capture a short local news segment from it, but I ended up watching and recording the whole thing which included some interesting and amusing old ads, and this great Foo Fighters appearance.
That was the only interesting music on that tape; the rest of the content was other TV shows from the era like Seinfeld and Friends or whatever. The old ads were the most interesting part of that.

what a great live performance of this song. big fan of these dudes. massive high energy. been playing this song for years as a cover and thought I'd try sing and play it. Nup, i give up, typical drummer able to hold down unusual timing and sing at the same time. I'll stick to guitar.
@@FIshfood500I do like the Foo Fighters, maybe even more than Nirvana (though I have very fond memories). However, while they might be one of the most successful, I really don't think they're one of the best. And I'd argue one isn't necessarily an indicator for the other.
There was a time in the 2000's when Dave started copying the vocal style of the singer from Monster Magnet.. I miss Dave's vocals from 95 until early 2000s.
Taylor was an absolute monster on the drums.
Lol he killed himself😂
amazing sound
RIP 🙏
@@LeFlopPleaseRetireNow why lol?
You would have to be with Grohl breathing down your neck.
Maybe the best intro ever, "My favorite band playing my favorite song, Foo Fighters"
Dave was born on the same day/year as me. I watch this and see me when we/I was young. I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now...
"I was so much older then, when I was young."
@@drstewart Yup, always loved the line and the insight behind it. Eric burdon wrote great lyrics
Damn, I can't believe this was over 24 years ago now
Yea man hate how time is like this
Don't remind me of my age
Tell me about it.

crazy that you were there
RIP my man Taylor. It was always a pleasure to my eyes seeing him beating those drums.

@@MacbthPSW That's cool 👍 Was there also other performances you recorded for them and other bands or was FF the only one?

Bruh fr this shit be bussin, no cap. I wasnt even skibidi yet. Just now rizzing all the gyatts. 2012 born baby gronk!
You know this was only 6-7 years since nirvana that’s crazy now it’s been 34-35 years since
24 years later, Dave is still with us, Taylor not. Bittersweet.
Love that camera angle on Chris and Dave attacking their guitars in rhythm.
Man going through some rough shit! First, the loss of Taylor and now the baby. Bless ya brother!
i saw them open for the red hot chili peppers around this time and i felt sorry for the peppers to have to follow that
Same
David Letterman+Foo Fighters=Perfection.
from drummer to lead guitarist and main vocals. what a freaking legend!
They were a legacy nostalgia band even after 5 years, lol.
It’s cool seeing stuff like this, idk why but I find this kinda thing fascinating.
No words can express this song!!!!!!🔥😎
Taylor Hawkins was a beast. My favorite drummer in spired me to keep playing drums
You need a better role model lmfao
I didn’t know David Letterman had such a good taste in music
Damn, they sounded actually great here, the energy is amazing! (well after all it was the 2000s...)
Dave grohl fifth Beatle confirmed???
In Foo We Trust
Where's Pat Smear?
He left the band years before this gig.
F*ck. That was fantastic. They look like kids.
Especially Taylor with his short hair

David holding the CD upside down 😂
Wow, the last 90 seconds gave me chills.
¡Increíble presentación! Muchas gracias por compartir. 🍷
He always wanted to be a frontman, no matter what it took.

Taylor was a beast on the skins!!!!!👏🆒

Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow, how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head
Out of her head, she sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head
Out of my head, I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
I miss Taylor ❤!! Monster ❤RIP Man ❤
This song reminds me of trick-or-treating and Halloween. I don’t know why.

Gotta love Dave Grohl
Nope.
explorer guitar dave was the best
Taylor Hawkins just tearing it up on the drums
I Fu⚡in love Earth Soul ⚡Blues RocknRoll...
IMO,one of the best rock bands of all time🙌
One of the most over rated.
There will always be those that don’t like them. I.e your hardcore Nirvana fans. Who just can’t take to Dave Grohl as a frontman

RIP Taylor
Always great to hear the early days before artist have played songs a thousand times and no longer have passion for the songs anymore
It’s not Learning To Fly, but it’s not bad!
rip tay !
Damn Taylor killed it
This would be the day after Kurt's bday
Something peppy for sure
He play for the band AstroGun secretly
🌻
No blue guitar, Pat Smear, or guy on a Mellotron.
Still potent. Just kids.
Good but tighten up your picking a little bit
2 guitars that sound like 20.
Crazy to think I was born 3 months later😅
Dave was so hot
Dave's bangs everlong eh
Meh
Good song but Grohl is a poser
I'm not wasting my time listing a lib band
Well, I guess you’ve always got Kid Rock and Skynnard.
Hillbilly POS.
Listing? Moe ron
Cry
U seemed to waste your time commenting

He didn't copy anyone. He just got old.
