    Hello
    I've waited here for you
    Everlong
    Tonight, I throw myself into
    And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down and waste away with me
    Down with me
Slow, how you wanted it to be
    I'm over my head
Out of her head, she sang
    And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
    She sang
    Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
    Hold you in
    And now
    I know you've always been
    Out of your head
Out of my head, I sang
    And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when

    And I wonder

For my December 17th birthday in 1995 my girlfriend gave me the choice between "going to The Whiskey to see the band that the drummer from Nirvana formed" or going see some comedians at the Ice House in Pasadena. - I chose the latter...because I'm a f***ing moron.

You can tell Taylor is young and doesn’t have his tempo down for the song yet. He might have been nervously speeding up for many reasons. He has always talked about his struggles with playing for Dave who he has referred to as the greatest drummer in rock and roll history which may have contributed. But it can also be noted that it is hard to maintain a steady tempo while playing faster notes, in this case 16th notes on the hi-hat for most of the song, along with dynamic changes. Crescendoing while playing fast is a recipe for speeding up if you haven’t completely mastered what you are playing yet.
It’s actually nice to see this from a young Taylor Hawkins. It shows that everyone is human and we all make mistakes in our development. What a great drummer that I will always see as a huge inspiration to my own love for drumming. Rest in peace.❤️

Could be nerves...but some bands like playing their songs a little faster just to make em a little more hype tbh

Dave sets the tempo for the song when he starts on guitar alone. I can only imagine Taylor sitting back there going "Oh no, bro!" as he launches into the 16th-note hihat beat that is half again as fast as the studio version. Young bands playing live are notorious for playing too fast. It just happens.

I think the Bizarre festival was one of the best alternative festivals in Germany, if not Europe in the 90s. Just the years 1995 to 2001 were amazing when you look at the line up. Unfortunately I was too young back then and only went there in 2001 + 2002. I wish they could revive it again.
