It still feels like your take on playing the parts because it encompasses your immense technical precision and how rock solid your internal clock is.
With Estepario he can definitely play a song almost note for note. On the other hand like for a stringed instrument such as a guitar or Dobro (like I play), I can play pretty close to what I recorded on stage but I’m not sure that I ever played a song note for note as interpretation, mood, accents from band members maybe playing some other runs, licks, etc., that you feed off of & it can change exactly how you play it for that night. @@timaustin77x Yeah but he's playing along with Dave not Taylor...
@@timaustin77xmaybe. But that wasn't Taylor playing on the original track used here. Don't get me wrong, I love Taylor's playing as well as this godlike drumming phenom. It's just that Everlong is a Grohl song, completely. There are better tunes that more represent Taylor just a few years later in the Foo's catalog
@@AMurder0fCrowswe all know Dave played it originally
All the songs on "The Colour and the Shape" are Dave Grohl songs.
He basically laid down the sound for all of it to see how it would be received before he got a band together.
This does in no way detract from any of the band members though.
That was insane!
I like watching the floor tom reverb from the bass energy. Flawless cover from Estep, as usual.
It mad that even though Taylor didn't write this drum part or even play it on the album, the second he played it live it instantly became all his own.
Shows just how special he was, RIP Taylor.
For a request, would you perhaps consider Kingdom by Devin Townsend? You could do so much with the kick in that song.
YES PLEEEEASE KINGDOM BY DEVIN TOWSEND OMG
Great cover of a great song! The original drum parts were recorded by Dave Grohl though. Live, Taylor did his absolute best to keep the same vibe going while giving it his own twist to it
Yeah people seem to forget that Dave is a drummer 😂
He said in lovimg memory of Taylor, he never said that Taylor wrote it
@@OzLovellyeah it’s just sort of strange to do an in memoriam dedication by covering a song that the guy neither wrote nor recorded. It would be like if someone chose to memorialize me by reading out a report that one of my coworkers wrote and published several years before I worked at my company. Still a sweet gesture, but also a bit awkward.
@@themillera9well put.
@@asylumental lol not like he ever did anything big on the kit...lol time is f'ed
that was absolutely mesmerizing and inspiring. incredible rendition
You play with so much heart and compassion. I noticed your right hand slightly shaking from emotion. So much respect. Much love.
This is gonna be great I recommend that you do painkiller by Judas Priest next
Man, absolutely love this! Thank you for honoring Thawk. Had the honor of being his tech for 13 yrs and friend for over 20. He is missed big time.
When Taylor was Alanis's drummer, he came out for soundcheck and asked us what we wanted to hear, I yelled "Bulls on Parade."
This happened at Red Rocks while we were setting up FOH. He rocked that shit for us. RIP Taylor ✌🏻❤️🤘🏻
in the story that never happend............
@@sebg2086 Uh why would he make that up? Sounds pretty specific.
Dave plays grooves the perfect way. You cant mess with them.
Füking incredible. A beautiful tribute. Well done my man 💪🏽
Dave Grohl played drums on the original recording. Taylor Hawkins had not yet joined the band
Dude this song was actually recorded by Dave himself
Who cares? Taylor played it thousands of times.
@@whiskersb5296 some people care. it is misleading as one can tell by the comments.
The drums in Everlong were recorded by William Goldsmith of Sunny Day Real Estate
This song was recorded by William Goldsmith of Sunny Day Real Estate
@@jonathancairns9944 And then rerecorded by Dave which is why William left the band.
I love how he went from focusing so hard on playing the right notes but by 3:30 he was just singing along and jamming! ❤
who's cutting onions ?🥲
I am 😢
I want you to join the Foo
incredible, amazing, i was in tears at the break seeing your hands shaking and sliglhtly bleeding, the emotion in your eyes said it All! Bravo brother! a true tribute to the fallen.
4:35 …. With all due respect for Mr Hawkins… I’m quite sure it’s Dave Grohl that plays on the version you covered.
With all due respect you forget Taylor played it in every live performance
Bro seeing this reiterates how he was as a drummer, it flows so strong, so good to see your love for it, 27 years later and i still get the same buzz as the first time.
Dude I don’t even play drums (intermediate guitar player) but your ethnic has changed my life brutha. I overplay everything I get my hands on. Theme and variation is part of honoring the greats. Your micro expressions show everything. Great job. Thank you man.
Huge respect for your approach to this song. Your 100% right this song is perfect and doesn't need anything else. Learning this song back in the day on the drums was a true accomplishment and inspired me to be better RIP Taylor
5 minutes of the chills. Thanks for such a perfect visualization of why that drum track is so incredible.
Loved it and your style is alway 1st and best of class and 5 stars to infinity
The thing I respect most about him is how much respect he has for other drummers. He knows when to just honor the piece. Well done as always!
As perfect as perfect gets.... Awesome job on an amazing song, Man! Thanks for posting! 😀
This song has massive sentimental value to me as I have it connected with memories of my late grandpa. Love your admiration for Taylor trying to play it as close as he used to. Amazing cover, thanks.
Saludos crack!!!
Jesus Joseph and mary... I feel so alive watching u play. Absolutely incredible
I just saw this bud. No joke... Everlong is STILL my favorite rock song of all time ever since I bought that album in '97. Of course you nailed it as always and added your own flavor. May the fkn Rock gods allow you your well deserved throne
OMG!! THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!! BEAUTIFULLY DONE!! Very tastefully covered, and PERFECT! THANK YOU!
No hay mucho que agregarle o improvisar frente a la version original. Fantastico cover!
Pure joy. That's exactly what I felt listening to and watching this.
Imagine living next to this dude... rocking the fk out to every single mundane daily activity from making your coffee, to folding your laundry or pruning the plants in your garden... 🤘🤘
