Been listening to Foos since i was 12 and now nearly 20 years later I witnessed them live as a part of this crowd! I nearly lost my voice i was screaming so hard 😅
The new drummer is very good, I think it is hard to compare styles because we all have different influences when we started learning the drums and at 1st you mimic then your style comes along. Taylor was one of the greats.

I'm a happy father of a 7 years old boy. He LOVES Foo Fighters, music is one of his "focus", he is a level 1 autist. We always watch the live concerts of Foo Fighters here on RUclips. He just noticed the absence of Taylor in this one. I didn't have the courage to tell him the truth, just said Taylor got sick.

First time I have seen them. Started listening about a year ago. Now own a huge chunk of their music from over the years. Best show I have seen since the Tom Petty Mojo tour.
His style is a bit different than Taylor Hawkins and after listening to that for 30 years it's, well it's kinda like being in a long relationship and breaking up and the next person you go out with kisses different. It's still fun but different.
@@scottyb68 The songs definitely sound a little different with Josh on the drums, but he's still doing a fantastic job, and has that skill and energy required to be a Foos drummer.

He's a blast to watch live. Me and my wife saw a FF concert in 2017 and they extended that concert out to like 4 hours with jam session versions of every song and Dave being a comedian telling stories between some songs.

My comments regarding watching musicians stoically play their instruments a couple of years ago pertained primarily to recent lackluster performances by U2
Great show but the snare is either being hit to hard or just the wrong tone. It would be awesome if he was in slip knot but it’s all you tend to focus on in the audio.
Taylor had a diferent groove to drums, there was something in his playing that made you inmediately know it was him, and he also was a powerfull player. With all of this said, I think they hit the right spot by getting Josh as Taylor's replacement, he has a totally amazing way of playing and is obviously helping the band to feel fresh.
Not better or worse. They have different styles, when you 1st start playing you mimic your favorite drummers and suddenly one day you have your own sound. It evolves as you try to figure out how they did this or that.
