Making Hexamine Diperchlorate Using Isopropyl Alcohol

  • Using perchloric acid and hexamine, a newly extremely flammable compound can be synthesized named hexamine diperchlorate. This experiment was done using IPA as the solvent for the hexamine. Dried it's a very fine white powder. This was tested in several ways, including adding copper sulfate with some interesting results.
