Coloured passthrough, is a great feature for PCVR, always tweaking something outside yhe headset, looks like a great upgrade over the Quest 2

With the new bounding setup, is it possible to swing your arm over the top of things like sofas? I've always had an issue with quest 1/2 not allowing vertical room settings, like spaces you can't walk over but are fine to swing your arms over. Be nice if meta had fixed this with the better room scanning/setup process. Love the channel!
I'm sooo excited for the Quest 3 simply for the improvements in resolution and clarity! I have some vision issues and I'm hoping the improvements will help me see everything a bit better and allow me to play longer than I can on my Quest 2. Totally excited for AR too!

VR has always called to me, it feels amazing, and the technology behind it it’s more than interesting, specially with the mixed reality they are now implementing. If you get deep into it, there's some amazing stuff in there, that managed to bring the price so low. Its truly an engeneering marvel to get all that in such a small space, and we gotta thank the whole team bringing it to us (not just meta, but Qualcomm and the others too). #ILoveQuest3

As much as I love playing video games and am attracted with VR, I suffer from claustrophobia and never was able to keep a headset on for more than a couple minutes.
It looks like the pass through is going to be a real game changer and allow me to expérience mixed reality gaming much more easier than in a confined environment... I can't wait to try it somewhere and to start saving if I like it in order to get one of my own !

Just an FYI, this smooth passthrough transition (fade in and out) is also on Quest 2 now. It's a software thing.

Is there good accessibility settings for someone in a wheelchair?
Yes, it has a setting to allow you to change the camera height to accommodate that, and most games now have a seated mode 🙌👍

I'm positively thrilled about the upcoming Quest 3! The ever-evolving virtual reality technology has me eagerly looking forward to this new headset. The prospect of enhanced graphics and performance, as well as the promise of even more immersive games and social interactions, makes the Quest 3 an exciting development. Building upon the foundation of the already impressive Quest 2, I can only imagine how the Quest 3 will further elevate the VR experience. The future of virtual reality is brimming with potential, and I can't wait to be a part of it!
I'm really looking forward to the AR capabilities (as more are introduced). Also, as a glasses-wearer, I am excited to enjoy the increased comfort reported on many reviews.

Can you find out what it's like when you're in a wheelchair. When you can't walk. That would help people in a wheelchair. We would also have been able to move/stand more.

Well, From what i see, for me the biggest upgrade compared to the quest 2, on my use, is the new passthrough that looks waaay better
Lots of potential with this headset from Meta as well as third party software and hardware manufacturer. One thing Meta should sort out is the hand oculusion in mixed reality, at the moment the hands are behind every virtual objects which clearly isn't right. We know this is possible from demos from the Lynx R1, so really should be fixed in software. The facial interface is interesting, 3rd parties should be able to make the headset more comfortable, expand the FoV and bring overall the weight down to below the Quest 2. I've also heard the warping with nearfield objects in MR, Meta has software in the works to improve this experience, so that's great news. So much to look forward to!
I noticed as you were throwing the Meta cushion, you also have a Pico 4, a comparison between the Quest-3 and Pico 4 could be interesting since the Pico 4 is a lot closer to the Quest-3 than the Quest-2. Both have pancake optics, both have color passthrough, both are higher resolution, both are stand alone HMDs. I have both a Quest-2 and a Pico 4 and have to admit, I think I like my Pico 4 better. I do have a Quest-3 128gb on order. This might be a good service to your viewers. :)

The technology is undeniably head and shoulders an improvement over the Q2. Claims about comfort are exaggerated. The supplied strap and facial interface feel like a medieval torture device crushing my head.

Loved every minute spent with my Quest 2. I can't wait to get my hands on a 3! I have an impending transplant surgery coming up and will be in the hospital for up to a month. I thought it'd be awesome to stream from my recovery room! I gottacome up with a good straming name...TheSurgicalStreamer? ER-VR? Something along those lines. Love your videos! I'm excited for the ray tracing like graphics in the new Quest 3 and being able to finally play with my wife in Horizon worlds and play vr Bingo with her!
Probably the thing im most excited about is it's improved ease of use. Because of the color passthrough, it'll make it so when i hand the headset over to my mother or someone older, there will be less initial disorientation. The improved speakers (hopefully, everyone's saying its louder) should make it enough so that i dont have to put headphones over their heads. And because the controllers no longer have tracking rings, im assuming they're lighter now, which'll make it easier for them to hold on to. So they put it on, and then bam, transported to places they never dreamed of being able to visit. For me it'd have to be passthrough with apps like Immersion with multiple desktop screens. #ILoveQuest3
I'm super excited for the Quest 3! I'm completely new to VR and about to take the plunge into the virtual world for the first time. The idea of sculpting and painting with Gravity Sketch and Quill in VR feels like an artist's dream come true. Add in mixed reality and it's more than I've hoped for. When the Quest Pro came out, I wasn't overly thrilled about the AR, but after watching you shooting up your room, I'm already hooked. I just wish my Pro had the same passthrough clarity as the Quest 3. #ILoveQuest3

SUPER excited for the quest 3, first time i tried VR was at University where they were experimenting with VR learning. Think of repairing a vehicle but in VR! That was an awesome experience and happy to try stuff out myself! #ILoveQuest3
Another great vid! I play PCVR a good bit and love how easy it is to is my quest 2. Unfortunately mine has always been a bit buggy. Stand alone is my jam tho. Thank you for the review. I've been considering a VR headset for some time, mostly for PC VR games. Also, I'm sometimes experimenting with 3D visualizations in Unreal Engine and Blender, and I thought about trying my experiments in VR.
Somehow Quest 2 and Pico 4 did not impress me enough. I wanted to wait until pancake lenses and OLED or microLED VR displays became mainstream for a reasonable price. Quest 3 is almost there. I just wish it had OLED displays for true deep blacks. So, I'm not sure if I would buy Quest 3 or still wait for better displays. But I must admit, Quest 3 does look so tempting. #ILoveQuest3

It astounds me how much the VR world as come in the last couple years. The Quest 3 provides so much more in the evolution of VR through haptics, immersion, and MR that I'm dying to get my hands on one to research how I can apply this in my classroom. I have created a few videos on bringing VR into the classroom and I am constantly pulling admin into the VR world to help them understand the benefits of VR in the modern classroom. I think that MR might be the thing that finally pulls them into the space. #ILoveQuest3
I'm glad the Oculus 3 has been released. It's also nice that it has better lenses now. I hope there are more games for it. And I can afford one myself.

Surprised to hear you say that the FOV isn't much better than the Quest 2. I currently both the Quest Pro and Quest 2, and find that the FOV on the PRO is quite a bit better. Especially if you get a 3d printed part for the back plate and get the lenses even closer to your eyes. I'm assuming you've adjusted the lens distance so that they are as close to you eyes as possible?

After using both PSVR1 and Quest2 for many hours, I always felt there was room for better performance. Why am I excited about Quest 3? I think not just because of the technological enhancements of the pancake lenses, resolution, better pass-through, and the new CPU, but also because it is also the first mainstream MR device.
I have used a Microsoft Hololens in the past, and they were pretty good, but this takes things to a whole new level, whilst also doing what the HoloLens could do, and so much more!! I have a good collection of titles for Quest 2, and a number of these are going to be getting Quest 3 enhancements, so I can't wait to try those!!
Each time there is a tech leap, and you put on that new headset for the first time. Just wow. I remember using a Rift DK1, then later the Rift CV1, that was a wow moment... That was until Quest 2, again a wow moment over Rift CV1. Quest 3 has me excited, as I 100% know I will get that wow moment all over again!!
