One more thing to note, besides investing in a 3rd party head strap, I would also suggest investing in a third party facial interface. Not just the cushion, but the whole plastic insert the cushion goes on. I got an all in one kit made by AMVR on sale for $28. I think normal price is $35. Well worth it as the plastic interface piece has venting and flares out a bit more for a better seal and actually makes the FOV look better. The cushion that comes with it is miles better than the stock one.
Great review! I got mine in the mail yesterday and can't wait to play with it more - the pancake lenses are amazing! Not sure how so many people were expecting better passthrough in this price range - decent low-light cameras are the holy grail and usually run over $1000 for the body alone for a decent sensor size 😅
Excuse me, a little problem in the Quest 3, is the Oculus Home button has the Meta logo on it, I like the old logo better. Please tell Meta to change it back. 😕
My Quest 3 is very responsive compared to my Q2. It is not perfect by any means though and I'd say probably 5-10 years before we get really good mixed reality devices and software. This is still the dawn of a new era as digital and physical slowly merge 😊

He talks like a salesman for Meta. Someone trying to upsell the product I may not want. I got the Quest 3, it's crossly overrated by these youtubers. It's an upgrade, but not much of an upgrade at all, pretty disappointed until they actually improve the resolution and pumping new exclusive software.
I had Quest 1, 2x Quest 2s and I always had 1 dead pixel on every single on of them. Most probably I will skip this Generation, and with the frequency they reveal every single new gen, which starts to look like the smarthpones' lifecycle, I think I will wait for Quest 4
The quest 3 is definitely much clearer, however, I can still see the screen door effect. It still is not a replacement for the picture quality of a TV for movies.
sadly yes - but they are closing in every year more and more. There is a lot to expect for the future. The technology itself is in my opinion better than using a flat screen.
Hi. I don’t know what you reviewers are talking about when it comes to the screen door effect. It is there and super obvious. My eyes aren’t even as good as they used to be and I noticed the second the logo came up during the boot up. And on everything else. I messed around with the IPD. Doesn’t seem to fix issue. Is there some trick?
TRUE. A lot of people gave up on Quest 2 after 6 months, bored and lack of content. Yes, and now think why PCVR users have been enjoying VR for several years and have no intention of stopping. Standalone is good, but only a "gateway-drug" good. And No, standalone will never have PCVR-standard games or thousands of mods worth playing.

Ordered from Amazon Germany a few weeks ago (512GB) and didn't receive it on the release date. New delivery date expected at the beginning of November! Incredibly bad handling on Meta's part. The cheap headsets are delivered before the expensive ones. So the kiddies get them first. In this way, you can also alienate wealthy customers and companies that use the more expensive Quest.
I am having the exact same issue in the UK with Amazon. I preorderd the 512Gb model on the 3rd Oct and there was no indication that there were any supply issues until I received an email from Amazon on the 9th. If I remember rightly, from my account, it looks like the 128Gb model has about double the number of orders as the 512Gb model when you look at each item page. That aside, I don't understand how this issue has arisen; surely Amazon must have known how many units they had in stock versus the number of preorders?? It's not like they are not already accustomed to this whole online retailer shenanigans.
I wish you had been honest about the audio in the Quest 3. Many reviewers have mentioned (and I noticed it myself) how the audio was a downgrade from Quest 2. The Quest 3 sounds more tinny. More treble & less bass. I have to continue playing Pistol Whip & Smash Drums on my Quest 2. I'm starting to regret my purchase.
Great video I appreciate the complete honesty. Lots of people are disappointed with the quality of passthrough including myself. Guess we got dupped when all the recording quality was way more clear than what you actually experience. Oh well I’m not to setback by it but some people “literally wanna cry.. 😅” I bought the quest 2 and it was my first vr experience so of course it was amazing but sadly the novelty wore off rather quickly. Mainly due to tragic motion sickness. That stuff made me sick just thinking about wearing the headset. But I don’t think it helped that the headset was so top heavy and hot. I can proudly say tho the quest 3 did not give me motion sickness nearly as bad as quest 2. The strap is ok but the headset itself is a huge improvement as far as comfort and I think that goes a long way in sickness experiences. Overall it’s a nifty piece of tech and I’m a proud supporter of the continued development and evolution of the tech regardless of what company it’s coming from. Cheers
Nice to hear about the motion sickness. I've had a quest 1 and a quest 2 and always just end up getting bored and literally sick while playing most games, so I ended up selling them. Like you, even the thought of wearing one again makes me feel ill. I really don't think I'll ever enjoy full VR, but the MR really entices me to give it another try.
Nobody has mentioned the heat from the headset. My quest 2 has the fan attached to draw out air, which is cooling to the face, and stops steam forming inside.
i started using a quest 3 after having a valve index and a htc vive, it is pretty easy to use and quite comfortable after i got bobo vr headstrap (which i can also use my headphones with). no issues playing games like hl alyx and hl2 vr through a usb 3 link cable, screen is nice and clear. the quest 3 controllers are not as comfortable to use as the index ones, but it is fine enough to play with the hand tracking is pretty cool too, but a most of the good oculus games require controllers. on pcvr you can map custom actions with your hands to keybinds, so you can do a little more with it worst thing is probably the battery life, but that can be offset with the link cable charging and battery pack
I just got my quest 3, I'm deeply disappointed in the "HD" colour passthrough ..it's really grainy ..not nice at all..I feel I've been seriously lied too, 😡.
I left the same comment xD I also prefer the comfort of the quest 1. They made this Q3 strap unbearable on purpose to sell their 'elite' strap. Good thing there are 3rd parties selling theirs cheaper. (the wrist straps were better on the Q1 too, what are these silly threads on the Q3 controllers? xD)
Overall a very good review with an unnecessary click-bait title. Considering the short time the Meta 3 has been out it’s foolish to state that the cost is an issue for consumers. We won’t know that until after the holiday buying season.
I git my quest 3 today and i am really enjoying the MR experience. I am hoping to get the bobvr m3 whenever it is available hopefully soon the stock strap is better but still uncomfortable. Great review
Your passthrough is not the quality of the passthrough on my Quest 3 unit, mine is terrible even in a well lit room. I plan on returning it as Meta and RUclipsrs are falsely advertising the quality.
Is there a reason for the Quest 3 to be more expensive in the EU? Is it due to Meta not being able to collect as much data on us so he upped the price?
I want to know, remember how you could change the resolution on the quest 2 using sidequest. (if you had a computer we’ve all done this at least once) how long would the battery last if you put the quest 2 res on 3?
Does that wobbly effect happen for the user when doing the pass through when placing objects in front of you? Or is that just something we see from recordings?
Got mine and it has a dead pixel and the facial interface quickly popped out of place and I had to pry it apart and fix it 🫠 hope my dead pixel is just a firmware issue and not hardware, sometimes it's dead sometimes it's fully working
People are so stupid , just bcz it’s new doesn’t mean u have to praise it like it’s perfect and it has no downside. It has multiple downsides and we deserve to hear about them from the beginning not just later when the dust has settled , consoomerism mindset is cancer. You showed the fov wrong, the lens through feature was straight out of their advert and nothing like it really looks like. Why do u guys hype meta so much, u get money ?
all they gotta do is change the pass through cameras to at least 12-16 megapixels and then it should be clear. also add sensors on the top and bottom of the headset and sides for better overall tracking
Is it still posible to down load games from the meta app without headset or does the headset need to be present to transfer games to oculus 3 Plz like so this can be seen
Getting mine today. PC gamer taking first step in VR - after finding Index and other PC VR headsets too expensive and quest 2 lacking in quality needed. Plus the first color step in MR sold it to me as well. Quest 3 seems, to me at least, the headset I was looking for in terms of price and quality . Looking forward to getting it in a few hours !
I have but haven't opened it (as I type this). With the Pro, I am wondering what's significant about the 3 that makes it worth the $1K+ w/add-ons. I'm anxious to experience the higher resolution, faster processor, better passthrough and depth sensor that the Pro lacks. At the same time, the Pro excels in controllers and face tracking. I feel this will be money burned in the midst of instant gratification hype which I am a sucker for. But in a few months, will there be a Quest Pro 2 or will I prefer the Apple Vision? That's where I stand.
I'm exackly the same, for me personally as someone comming from a quest 2 after psvr 1 I crave the face and eye tracking for it to feel like a true upgrade that its worth making for 500 pounds. For me I'm waiting for a headset with the power of the quest 3 with the facial tracking of the Pro, I don't really care about passthrough as I don't feel it's developed enough that I would use it and feel satisfied. quest pro 2 is gunna be sweet if they keep it under 1000
I played on my Quest 3 for several hours yesterday and set it up for both standalone and PC gaming. I have the Bobovr m2 Pro headset for my Quest 2 and had seen on Reddit that a conversion kit was coming out so that I could use it on my Quest 3 but still can’t find it. It sounded like you had one.
Update us
Sadly the audio was a downgrade from Quest 2. The Q3 sounds more tinny. More treble & less bass 😑
Also had dead pixel... but dont wanna wait another week to get it fixed. I can only see it in a black loading screen
Honestly I think the hands behind or in front of things can be patched with the depth sensor
Why aren't any reviewers mentioning the very loud fan? When it turns on you can hear it clearly and it is very distracting. Quest 2 was silent.
I got mine the other day I havent noticed that at all
I understand there is some better ventilation , did you have any fogging on the lenses? Thanks
Can't find the bobovr M3 OR the M2 to M3 conversion kit. Are they out yet?
No they have yet to release
Am i the only one who thought that, at least in that test, quest 2 had the better mic? You’d think meta would prioritize that.
I have a question nathie how do you combine me with all vr headsets into one in real life?
If you get a dead pixel on the headset can you send it back? Or do you just have to live with it?
U can send it back, atleast where i live
Excuse me, a little problem in the Quest 3, is the Oculus Home button has the Meta logo on it, I like the old logo better. Please tell Meta to change it back. 😕
My Quest 3 is very responsive compared to my Q2. It is not perfect by any means though and I'd say probably 5-10 years before we get really good mixed reality devices and software. This is still the dawn of a new era as digital and physical slowly merge 😊
meh give it 3 years
You've got no faith in Valve's Deckard?
Was the OLED panel not better?
@@karkir-joharkarntkristkark9507 deckard is the new steam console. Many people thought it was a VR headset but alas the index is still the best on the market for PCVR
@@karkir-joharkarntkristkark9507 It will probably take 5-10 years for deckard to launch.
Hello, i just want to tell you that i bought a quest 3 but i have issues with the audio it sounds very bad in all games i tryed reseting but it didnt work
Cameras on the front should have been concaved to avoid damage
WHY ISNT ANYONE TALKING ABOUT 4:34 . DUDE YOU CAN INVITE YOUR FRIENDS INTO YOUR ROOM LIKE BRO THATS SOOO COOOL
How will I be able to get the quest 3 bobovr because I got both m1 and m2 head straps for quest 2
TRUE. A lot of people gave up on Quest 2 after 6 months, bored and lack of content. Yes, and now think why PCVR users have been enjoying VR for several years and have no intention of stopping. Standalone is good, but only a "gateway-drug" good. And No, standalone will never have PCVR-standard games or thousands of mods worth playing.
what about using the quest 3 for work ? 6-8 hours daily using virtual monitors.
13:19 yes Echo Vr is back on the quest 3 😭
i buyed the quest 2 because the great picture Echo Vr of it on the box
now i feel more home alone no zero gravity sport anymore
I will just say we will always have a delay in sound when using Bluetooth because the program can't predict the future to start feeding you the sound that hasn't happened yet
Please can you link the bobo M3 strap I can't find it anywhere
Its not out yet 😅
Oh ok
Also did you try the air link?
ordered myself one yesterday, it comes in about 2 days as of writing this, very excited.
by any chance did you get bored of it?,I want to get one but everyone says it’s bad and overhyped, thanks
Would you be able to make a video on some of the best MR/Pass-through content to try out on Quest 3?
Ngl meta lost opportunity to the quest 3 with rechargeable controllers if the quest pro got to have it why are we force to use batteries
Batteries are better. Also quest pro controllers are £300
I wish you had been honest about the audio in the Quest 3.
Isn't it more beneficial in games to use headphones anyways or can it be uncomfortable to wear with the quest 3?
Great video I appreciate the complete honesty.
Lots of people are disappointed with the quality of passthrough including myself. Guess we got dupped when all the recording quality was way more clear than what you actually experience. Oh well I’m not to setback by it but some people “literally wanna cry.. 😅”
I bought the quest 2 and it was my first vr experience so of course it was amazing but sadly the novelty wore off rather quickly.
Where can I get BoboVR's strap adaptor can't find it anywhere
it has yet to come out 🥲
Beat aftermarket headset with battery ? Nord? Kiwi? Bobo?
so they can include a headphone jack but not a microSD card slot?
Why did they put the headphone jack on the right side when almost all headphones have the cable coming out of the left side?
Nobody has mentioned the heat from the headset. My quest 2 has the fan attached to draw out air, which is cooling to the face, and stops steam forming inside.
Game at 9:38 please?
i started using a quest 3 after having a valve index and a htc vive, it is pretty easy to use and quite comfortable after i got bobo vr headstrap (which i can also use my headphones with). no issues playing games like hl alyx and hl2 vr through a usb 3 link cable, screen is nice and clear. the quest 3 controllers are not as comfortable to use as the index ones, but it is fine enough to play with
the hand tracking is pretty cool too, but a most of the good oculus games require controllers. on pcvr you can map custom actions with your hands to keybinds, so you can do a little more with it
worst thing is probably the battery life, but that can be offset with the link cable charging and battery pack
What app is when they are seeing the city. The geographical data.
its on 10:49
Thanks!
Wooorlds
I just got my quest 3, I'm deeply disappointed in the "HD" colour passthrough ..it's really grainy ..not nice at all..I feel I've been seriously lied too, 😡.
I got the quest 3 as my first ever be headset, and I really like it. Sure it was expensive, but I’m happy with its quality
Where can I buy a good headset in the uk ?
The current strap really hurts my forehead. I can from quest 1 and that was way more comfortable.
We won’t know that until after the holiday buying season.
hi sir ,
i love watching movies, 3d sbs movies. can we enjoy 3d movies on quest 3? i have xreal air 2 but i couldnt enjoy full screen movies on it.
12:35 Isn't this looking better, sharper on Quest 2? Maybe you incorrectly named the views?
Is there a reason for the Quest 3 to be more expensive in the EU? Is it due to Meta not being able to collect as much data on us so he upped the price?
It’s exspensive when you add it all up for quest 3 charging dock elite head strap rip of
I want to know, remember how you could change the resolution on the quest 2 using sidequest. (if you had a computer we’ve all done this at least once) how long would the battery last if you put the quest 2 res on 3?
at 13:27, what game is that with the guns and lasers on the arm?
Bulletstorm
You shouldve added a battery life amount for PCVR too
13:45
Does that wobbly effect happen for the user when doing the pass through when placing objects in front of you? Or is that just something we see from recordings?
I’m kinda sold with the MR and game pass. Will order mine tomorrow, but can’t find any strap in my country
Do you not get the PC USB connection cable .This was very expensive with the Q2.
i think the side by side for hubris is flipped bc the quest 2 side looks sharper 😅😂 12:36
I see it now! Thanks for the heads up. Hope that’s the only mistake 🥲
How about playing more than 1-1/2 hour between charge... can you use something to play continuously?
In Passthrough mode, if you invite your friends to your quest home, will they see VR surrounding or Passthrough surrounding?
all they gotta do is change the pass through cameras to at least 12-16 megapixels and then it should be clear. also add sensors on the top and bottom of the headset and sides for better overall tracking
What was that theme park game at 12:56?
roblox vr theme park tycoon 2
Quest 2 microphone is like 10 times better :P Btw far best review!
Can you charge it while using it?
how is the pc vr experience vs the pico 4?
What is the theme park game at 12:56?
that’s Roblox
Is it still posible to down load games from the meta app without headset or does the headset need to be present to transfer games to oculus 3
Plz like so this can be seen
My son wants this for christmas and i can afford it....neither of us have experienced much VR....should i get it?
what is that secrect agent game shown on around 9:53 ?
How did u get the boboVR head strap because i cant find it anywhere
It is still in its testing phase
Getting mine today. PC gamer taking first step in VR - after finding Index and other PC VR headsets too expensive and quest 2 lacking in quality needed. Plus the first color step in MR sold it to me as well. Quest 3 seems, to me at least, the headset I was looking for in terms of price and quality . Looking forward to getting it in a few hours !
How is Meta quest 3 with pc gaming, such as Half Life Alyx?
For me I'm waiting for a headset with the power of the quest 3 with the facial tracking of the Pro, I don't really care about passthrough as I don't feel it's developed enough that I would use it and feel satisfied. quest pro 2 is gunna be sweet if they keep it under 1000
@@rowan3958 but you think face and eye tracking is developed enough? lol
I like to know the name of the game on the minute 13:10 thanks
Max Mustard
Great video. Much info. Thanks!
I'm in California and I'm a VR content creator, today has been an amazing day in VR History, amazing RUclips on fire tonight
I onle have one question left.
Can i play steam Games on the MQ 3 ?
How can I purchase one in Hungary? In the local stores they are 200$ more expensive😢. And Meta doesn’t ship to Hungary
Have you tried Amazon?
I don’t trust Amazon, since I tried buying a controller and they said “package undeliverable” and never gave me a dollar back.
Q3 with m3 bobovr strap vs big screen beyond vs q2?? How much comfort is it?
Where can I get the M3 pro strap I live in the UK
It is not out yet
I played on my Quest 3 for several hours yesterday and set it up for both standalone and PC gaming. I have the Bobovr m2 Pro headset for my Quest 2 and had seen on Reddit that a conversion kit was coming out so that I could use it on my Quest 3 but still can’t find it. It sounded like you had one. Do you have a link? So far I’m really enjoying the mixed reality.
