I got to keep the headset as part of the Meta Quest Creator Program. Trust me, I am equally surprised that they did. I initially set money aside to purchase the headset from BestBuy 😄
Hey sixtacos, what usb c adapter did you use to connect both headphones and that external battery? I consider the lack of a headphone jack a dealbreaker so that adapter would win me back
For sure. I'll link it down below. You can use any adapter just make sure the brand is legit and it supports PD 3.0. It allows the headset to charge up to 18W until it reaches 80%. Other options from Anker, UGreen, Cable Matters, and Dual USB C adapter: a.co/d/8Q9rgEI Dual adapter with USB A: a.co/d/g7XMy1F Also, worth mentioning Quest in general is a bit odd with inputs. So, if you connect the adapter while charging it'll make the charging sound until you disconnect it. Unplug and plug it back in, and it works perfectly fine after.
As the comment above me said most USB C adapters solve the issue. You can even use a adapter with USB A. But, for me at least I haven't found the perfect one as I have to always disconnect the charging port from the adapter and plug it back in. If not it'll charge and keep disconnecting.

The Edifer 1700BTs speakers are great! The dials on the side to adjust tremble, bass, and volume are perfect for a moniter setup. It suffers at higher volumes, but background music while studying the upgrade from my Bose speakers it's like buying a pair of new ears.
Yes, all the gameplay included is captured on Quest 3S. I was going to record extra footage, but Meta broke something in a recent software update solely on Quest 3S.
i have a question. in quest 2 walking dead zombies didnt show damage, as in no split skull...at least not that i remember. but does the game run the same on 3 and 3s?
After I switched from quest 2 to quest 3s, I can tell a huge difference in the tracking for the better. I dont know about the quest 3 though because I have never used it. Edit: I wonder if you can put a quest 2 headstrap on a quest 3/3s if you just drill a hole through the plastic where the charging port is...
Yeah honestly Fresnel lenses are garbage having gone from a Quest 2 to a Quest 3. I wasn't convinced to get a Quest 3 just for better lenses - then I actually tried one out and I was sold. Pancake lenses are so much clearer, almost no Mura, almost edge to edge sweet spot etc. But the biggest change going to Pancake lenses for me has been I now spend a lot more time in VR as I get way less eye strain.
Sure the Quest 3 is a better headset--provided you don't mind the screen door effect that comes of having canted the lenses, or the problemswith the less-than-stellar binocular overlap if your IPD is either much lower or much higher than average. For people who are either coming to VR for the first time, or whose memory of VR are from some version of Google Cardboard, though, the Quest 3S will seem like a miracle... at a price that won't seem like a major risk to their pocketbook. That's who Meta is aiming this headset at (or their kids), not those of us who have already been through the Fresnel Lens experience. For those who fall in love with VR, they'll quickly sell their 3S on the secondhand sites, and upgrade to the Quest 3. Or to even more expensive headsets, if they really go crazy. For the (majority of) casual players, however, they'll be more than happy to have a VR gaming "console" that they can periodically enjoy, without having spent their weight in money to get hold of.
No, but you can buy an adapter for it. All Quest 3 straps are compatible with Quest 3S. BOBOVR used to sell a kit if you owned an M2 strap to upgrade to an M3 for Quest 3/3S. But, I think they've discontinued it. On Amazon, GOMRVR sells the adapter kit for BOBOVR head straps to make them compatible with your Quest 3/3S. Right now on Amazon, some head straps go as low as $9.99. You can 3D print an adapter as well. People on Etsy sell Universal Head Strap adapters, but it's worth it just to order a new one.
Hi, I was planning to buy the Quest3-s to use it as my fitness headset and then for media and gaming continue using my Quest3. But then Pico came with the Pico 4 Ultra. Which I bought instead of the Quest 3-s. So now the Quest 3 does what I planned to do with the Quest3-s. I think I made a good choice. But for anyone who buys a headset for the first time, I don't think they do anything wrong with the Quest3-s.
@jioxxvr True. That's one of the reasons why I decided not to buy the Quest3-s. The Pico 4 Ultra has the same pancake lenses like the old Pico 4, slightly improved...
@@cusuk366 I own a quest 2...pico 4...and now a quest 3s.... The pico is an amazing high quality feeling headset...but for the most part the quest store is better than the pico store...also the pico multiplayer has issues...always chinese servers etc....
Funny I just returned my 3S after a week of ownership. For the life of me outside of animation everywhere and gaming. I don’t see any VR real world stuff that’s ready to go. The graphics cannot be pulled off to make stuff look virtual reality. Beyond the fact that it’s Meta, who just harvest all your data never ending.
Grid Legends VR on Quest. I have multiple videos on it from comparisons/critiques. However, EA eventually abandoned it quickly after launch. But, by far still the only legit racing game Quest has. I have a 10% off code for it in the description.
Hi I was looking to upgrade from the oculus quest 1 as things just don’t really work anymore but I am not sure as I would like to have the extra cash for games etc so I am not sure if the lenses are like a deal breaker or not for the quest 3s or if I am just getting a huge upgrade regardless of which I get
Switching from Quest 1 to Quest 3S is a huge improvement, games with better graphics, resolution and FPS in addition to supporting Quest 2/3 games that Quest 1 does not support, another thing is the higher resolution screen and better controls.
Going from Quest 1 to Quest 3S there are huge improvements as the comment above me said. Quest 3/3S performance is good, but don't expect PCVR quality yet. Plus, upgrading you'll no longer have the glaring screen door effect, but if you stare closely with high contrast colors you can still see individual pixels, even on Quest 3. If you want to maximize the amount of cash for games, I did include an affiliate link in the description and my pinned comment. So if you purchase your headset directly from Meta you get $30 in free promotional cash to spend on any games. I do earn a commission, but it's free money for you. Comparing the Fresnel lenses on Quest 3S, to the pancake lenses on Quest 3. Quest 3's display is like a budget 4K TV, and Quest 3S is a 720p/1080p TV. The biggest compromise with Quest 3S has to be the edges of the screen. It looks like the bottom of a glass jar. Switching from Quest 1 to Quest 3S would feel like a generational leap in terms of performance. But, pancake lenses really are amazing. Although, I still use Frensel headsets daily just not for media consumption or reading. I use them for fitness and comparison mainly. Quest 3S does have better low light tracking hand tracking, and improved fast-paced tracking for fitness/Beat Saber. Plus with the inclusion of Batman, and 3 months free of Meta Quest + basically Xbox game pass for VR. You'll have a lot to play just cancel before the free trial is over. However, the reason why I would want someone to go with Quest 3 is that eventually with accessories, battery packs, and games. It puts you in the same price range as getting a Quest 3. But, ultimately no headset is a wrong choice in your upgrade. jeez sorry for long thesis
Can i plug my quest into my gaming pc and use my pc headset? I already have a nice build anyways and dont wanna spend the extra $200 just for easier audio
I noticed everyone forgets two things; do you need wifi to play these headsets and can you hear the game at least on quest 3S? Or do you need a blue tooth to hear the game console or is the Bluetooth to hear other players?
- Yes, at startup you do need Wi-Fi at boot to update the headset and pair it with your phone - Quest 3/3S includes two speakers on both arms for audio and the USB C jack supports external mics/headphones - Quest 3/3S is standalone device so all the compute happens on board. It's a glorified android cell phone on your face. - It does include Bluetooth, but latency varies by game.
So it's really good if you can get past the lenses. For me I will be perfect as I have a quest 2 and I line up with the first ipd so I have a really good experience with quest 2 and cant wait for my 3s to get here
It's an all AMD Lenovo Legion slim 7 gaming laptop. Used to have an Alienware and HP with both a 3080ti configuration AND Intel CPUs. However, they were bulky, loud, and heavy as hell. Returned those laptops and settled on a Lenovo. It games decently well, looks sleek, and is great for work. And the battery lasts while not plugged in, which is AMAZING.
Your Quest 3S should have Batman. Any headset purchased from September 25, 2024 to April 30, 2025 will include it. At startup I believe it tells you or just go to the Quest store to redeem it.
The title isn't even a question, why would you even suggest that the 3s could ever be better than the 3, the difference between the lenses will make you throw the 3s in the trash.
TRIED TO BUY IT THROUGH UR SITE .. I MADE AN ACCOUNT BUT IT WOULDNT GO TO THE SIGN IN PAGE??? I TRIED 3X NOPE IT WONT OPEN GUESS BACK TO BEST BUY BUT I REALLY WANTED THAT GEAD SET TO BUMMER
Either the Quest 3 or the Quest 3S would be a good choice, but I prefer Quest 3 because of its pancake lenses. Quest 3/3S is perfect for gaming/fitness, but with Quest 3's display you move your head a lot less to get clearer images. Which is perfect for things other than gaming like reading, watching videos, or productivity. Batman being bundled for free. Then using a referral code from a friend or mine that's pinned to get $30 in Quest Store Cash. Couldn't think of a better time to enter VR than now.

The 3s is quite impressive for the price point. Shame we don’t have a 3.5mm jack, but it’s nice we can use Bluetooth at least. Might pick up a cheap pair of noise cancelling.
I have the Index and the Quest 3... I'm not downgrading the Quest 3 for the Quest 3S........... Quest needs to include a Computer cable with the Quest.. playing wi fi has way to much game breaking lag. . if your going to make a new Quest make it better, not a cheaper down grade... get rid of the pass thru... useless. Focus on better tracking Do like the pro add tracking into the controllers so it detects them behind you head, ect. INCREASE the resolution, refresh rate, FOV, faster stronger processor, make lens's OLED with better blacks....... THESE are things that people really care about or should........... for those that do play wi fi do something with that 2 hour battery life. AS a bonus I have the upgrade after market head plastic head strap THIS is a must and should be included, also the straps for the controllers.. THIS is a must and should be included.......... One last thing... My Index is incredibly easy to step up and fire up..... Setting up Quest 3 was much more of a challenge.. and if I let it set for a month I have to reconfigure everything.
If the market doesn't grow, VR can't move forward. Affordable headset for first time users and lower end budget are required, otherwise you'll get top of the line hardware but no high-end games to play since those need a large amount of sales to justify their budgets. You can crank up the wifi airlink data rate in the settings, and even further with the debug tools, having a high end router with a modern wifi module would help with signal stability aswell. You can also test out other means like Steam link. I don't understand your point about the pass through being useless since it expands the range of functionality and allows you to wear the headset in many situations that would require you to remove it otherwise. Also you talk like working on a feature would trump everything else. If you follow research papers published by meta and other party you'd see how much work is being done in parallel. And "Focus on better tracking" like they don't already, they can now track your hands and even a portion of your body now.

You can still do the double tap it’s in the settings.
im really surprised meta gave someone with such a small account a free review headset, nice man!
Do you get to keep it or do you have to refund it?
I got to keep the headset as part of the Meta Quest Creator Program. Trust me, I am equally surprised that they did. I initially set money aside to purchase the headset from BestBuy 😄
@@sixtacos Damnnnn lucky bro
Hey sixtacos, what usb c adapter did you use to connect both headphones and that external battery? I consider the lack of a headphone jack a dealbreaker so that adapter would win me back
For sure. I'll link it down below. You can use any adapter just make sure the brand is legit and it supports PD 3.0. It allows the headset to charge up to 18W until it reaches 80%. Other options from Anker, UGreen, Cable Matters, and
Dual USB C adapter: a.co/d/8Q9rgEI
Dual adapter with USB A: a.co/d/g7XMy1F
Also, worth mentioning Quest in general is a bit odd with inputs. So, if you connect the adapter while charging it'll make the charging sound until you disconnect it. Unplug and plug it back in, and it works perfectly fine after.
You won me over with your vault boy .
No headphone jack is a little insane imo
except you could get an audio + charging USB-C adapter
As the comment above me said most USB C adapters solve the issue. You can even use a adapter with USB A.
But, for me at least I haven't found the perfect one as I have to always disconnect the charging port from the adapter and plug it back in. If not it'll charge and keep disconnecting.

It’ll probably be Batman Arkham Knight.

I love Dragon ball sparking zero, also thank for the chance I've been wanting to play into the radius.
Max mustard was dissapointing at first, but I ended up loving it
I have a quest 2 is it really worth the upgrade by much
OH how do you like those edifer speakers? Any good?
The Edifer 1700BTs speakers are great! The dials on the side to adjust tremble, bass, and volume are perfect for a moniter setup. It suffers at higher volumes, but background music while studying the upgrade from my Bose speakers it's like buying a pair of new ears.
@@sixtacos sorry, too busy playing batman, I'll get back to you later....joking, I am looking at buying those speakers😁 thanks.
They should have better strap for regular Quest 3 so that is fair for the price

Is all of the gameplay in the video recorded on the S?
Yes, all the gameplay included is captured on Quest 3S. I was going to record extra footage, but Meta broke something in a recent software update solely on Quest 3S.
i have a question. in quest 2 walking dead zombies didnt show damage, as in no split skull...at least not that i remember. but does the game run the same on 3 and 3s?
After I switched from quest 2 to quest 3s, I can tell a huge difference in the tracking for the better. I dont know about the quest 3 though because I have never used it.
Edit: I wonder if you can put a quest 2 headstrap on a quest 3/3s if you just drill a hole through the plastic where the charging port is...
the resolution is so much lower than the Q3. That right there makes the Q3 look so much better than the Q3s. You see screen door effect on the Q3s.
Can I use my quest 2 head strap on the 3s?
Nope
So you actually find the Pico 4 Ultra better to use as your main headset rather than the Quest 3? - I'm really struggling deciding between the two :)
@@cusuk366 If you want a bigger choice in stand alone gaming, the Quest is better. But for PCVR both are good. The Pico4 Ultra is more comfortable.
@@cusuk366 Pico 4 ultra has much better Binocular Overlap than Quest 3.
No pancake, nothing for me.
Sometimes I like going for waffles.

Hi, which game @12:41 ?
Grid Legends VR on Quest. I have multiple videos on it from comparisons/critiques. However, EA eventually abandoned it quickly after launch. But, by far still the only legit racing game Quest has.
I have a 10% off code for it in the description.
Costco has the 3s for 325. Invludes the 256gb and a carring case.
That's a great deal. And getting a glizzy on the way out is B U S S I N.
I say if you want 4k video and no sweet spot, I feel q3s is sweet spot bad if have a good head set kit or have it snuggle in your face
- Yes, at startup you do need Wi-Fi at boot to update the headset and pair it with your phone
- Quest 3/3S includes two speakers on both arms for audio and the USB C jack supports external mics/headphones
- Quest 3/3S is standalone device so all the compute happens on board. It's a glorified android cell phone on your face.
- It does include Bluetooth, but latency varies by game.
You can use it without internet
So it's really good if you can get past the lenses. For me I will be perfect as I have a quest 2 and I line up with the first ipd so I have a really good experience with quest 2 and cant wait for my 3s to get here
Where did you get apple music?
I downloaded the Apple Music APK from APK Mirror and sideloaded the app.
What kind of laptop you have
It's an all AMD Lenovo Legion slim 7 gaming laptop.
I bought the quest 3s recently but gotta wait till chrismas but idk if its got batman
Your Quest 3S should have Batman. Any headset purchased from September 25, 2024 to April 30, 2025 will include it. At startup I believe it tells you or just go to the Quest store to redeem it.
It doesn't say it comes with it on the Box
The title isn't even a question, why would you even suggest that the 3s could ever be better than the 3, the difference between the lenses will make you throw the 3s in the trash.
got the headset today! Just time to save money again for games😂😅
Nice. Any recent game release you been eyeing? I might have a free code for that if I haven't played it.
You have the same keyboard as me
TRIED TO BUY IT THROUGH UR SITE .. I MADE AN ACCOUNT BUT IT WOULDNT GO TO THE SIGN IN PAGE??? I TRIED 3X NOPE IT WONT OPEN GUESS BACK TO BEST BUY BUT I REALLY WANTED THAT GEAD SET TO BUMMER
So, I am planning to buy a VR, but should ingest the 3 or 3s (it’s my first time doing VR, I want great quality the best advised)
Most doctors do not recommend ingesting electronics...
@@biohazardindustrieswr697 ay, more ingest of electronics more surgery more money for them
Either the Quest 3 or the Quest 3S would be a good choice, but I prefer Quest 3 because of its pancake lenses.
Quest 3.. why would you buy a more bare bones system. Spend the extra $100 dollars
Quest 3.. the pancake lenses are nice
What did you mean quest 4 pancake lenses in a headset sub $500 isn't quest 3 $500 now?

Lol they make a lot of money from the gamr store it turns a profit for sure
Yeah, I think recently I saw that Gorilla Tag generated $100 million dollars in revenue from in-game cosmetics.
