To be honest the difference is very marginal IMO, the FOV is definetly better on 3 and I prefere the better IPD settings, but other than that I would say its a pretty decent upgrade from quest 2 and the diffrences between quest 3 and 3s are not as big as I initially feared

After like 2 days of usage on my Meta quest 3S I really enjoyed it a LOT! I am a new user onto the VR experience and Meta quest 3S is great for new VR users!
i just got it today and i see the text kinda blurry in some spots 🥹 why I even wore eyeglasses with the spacer to see if it was better for my eyes I did the eye distance calibration and put the head band well
@@Suzyxgame Fresnel lenses are like that sadly. In the video she mentions the "sweet spot" this means everything out of THAT spot will look blurry. Even within the sweet spot, things you see might get blurry, too shiny, hard to read, low resolution (glare, god rays, blur, screendoor effect ... are common terms for these anomalies). It doesn't matter how well you positioned your eyes, we all have different head shapes, eyesight, and different levels of tolerance too; some people can bypass these VR annoyances easier than others, maybe the headset fits them just right. Initially I couldn't use the Rift CV1 for more than 20 minutes, it was so annoying... (but I already paid the price so I had to get used to them ahaha), same with the Oculus GO, Quest 1, Quest 2... now with the Meta Quest 3 I can play for hours. I can say the Quest 3 is a friendlier technology for newcomers... Meta has been using the same technology in lenses for over a decade, now we finally got some real improvements (more FOV and resolution per eye) for a reasonable price (kinda like a mid tier smartphone). Don't get me wrong, the *Quest 3s* IS a nice headset for its price, you get what you pay for, but it's basically a faster Quest 2 with better mixed reality capabilities. The Meta Quest 3 (pancake lenses) is the real update in every sense, hardware and software. With Fresnel lenses I had to be very close "to the screen" (my eyelashes would touch the lenses) hahah to feel comfortable, with the new Pancake lenses I can be more laid back and having more FOV helps to REDUCE my dizziness induced due the lower FOV (of previous versions)... that feeling of having a pair of binoculares glued to your face.

I just got this headset 5 days ago and coming from Q1, i believed this was the best choice along with Virtual Desktop looking amazing (watching this currently on VD). This was an accurate review!
@chrism790 i was contemplating that option, but with new one you will get batman game for free and Meta Quest + subscription for 3 months for free + $30 as meta store credit if you use any influencer code.. so all in all these 3 things have a value of $80-$100, so buying new one makes more sense to me.
@@chrism790 got the same deal except on eBay, it’s expected to come between the 16th and 21st. I don’t expect scratches or anything since it’s sold by meta official.
Thanks for this breakdown, Cas. I think I already knew that I wasn't going to buy a Quest 3 based on my casual usage and the cost but the MR stuff really interests me. I just ordered a Q3s (with your link, of course, love you guys 😍) mostly to get that sweet passthrough and mixed reality.
I waited to upgrade to the 3 for when the 3S came around. I pre-ordered mine few days ago as a treat to myself from my quest 2. I personally went for the 3S for wanting the lighter weighted option compared to what I heard of the the regular 3 being a bit to heavy. It should be arriving between today or tomorrow which I am really excited to hop back into the world of VR again though after not using my quest 2 in such a long time from being way to heavy for my small sized head. lol Great therough anylisis as always Charry. :)
Hope it worked out for you. I've heard it's the same weight as the quest 3 and actually heavier than the 2. It's also bulky like the 2. I think the quest 3 is a lot slimmer which helps with weight distribution and center of gravity and the same weight as the 3s
Great review and comparison, thank you! I only use VR for fitness - FitXR, Beat Saber, Eleven Table Tennis - so the visual and mixed reality enhancements won’t be as big a plus for my use cases. That said, one thing I would be interested in is a MR piano teaching app where you can choose songs from a large database and learn them in MR. That might be worth the move for me.
I just bought 3s. I need to find the yoga and fitness apps. This was my purpose for my purchase at this time. Can you tell me where to find fitness? New to VR. Thanks
I have a quest 3. It replaced a Reverb g2 due to a broken cable and the wmr issue with windows 11. Great all-round headset, even if I use mainly for PCVR. Wireless connection with virtual desktop, the passthrough, mixed reality, hand tracking, are all great features. If only it had a display port for PC connection it would be the perfect headset. But even as it is it's a great device for the price.
I got a Quest 3 months ago for $350, basically new in box just no shrink wrap, same with PSVR2 months before that, at $400 I'd advise going to Facebook marketplace and getting a great deal on a Quest 3!!
@@AnalogX64 had a 3 and sold it . I still think the psvr2 is better for pcvr .. oled is a game changer more than pancake lenses imo. Pointless having clarity when the blalcs are grey and colours are muted . Having said that I've just sold my hp reverb and ordered a 3s just for the exclusives .
Bigger battery on paper for the 3 but pancake lenses require the panels to be 40% brighter due to loss of lumens attributed to the pancake lenses that's why the 3s has comparable battery life even though the battery is smaller
@@_Paul_N yes they are nice but the oled panel on the psvr2 is chef's kiss . Also must say the apple vision pros lenses are superb. Plus the 3s is not for anyone who has a 3 already that would be sheer stupidity it's like having the latest and greatest model of BMW and getting an older model instead . It is for those who have a quest 2 and want and upgrade and the extra horse power or new vr users
I'm still trying to decide between the 3 and 3s, this was a great review and very helpful. Money isn't an issue, but i am also mindful about best bang for your buck. I usually do like the best of the best but I'm not opposed to saving money either lol.
Very good user comparison. As a Quest 2 daily driver I have been toying with the idea of upgrading myself, and will probably take the 3 over the 3s, just for the pancake lenses, slimmer form factor and 3.5mm audio jack - Bluetooth still lags and I'm not convinced by the combined audio pass-through power USB-C solution. Now if Meta could guarantee reintroduction of eye and face tracking on their next offering, hmmm ...
Im getting it for VR game development. I think the 3S is a good choice because of my budget, but also it will allow me to see what games will look like at at 3S standard, which I imagine will be useful because it will only look better once upscaled... I think. Probably best for me to have both but im on a budget atm. Any feedback is welcomed :)
I have the Q3 but bought the 3S to be able to co-op with my son in some games, and to lend it to friends that are interested but haven't yet made the decision to enter the wonderful world of VR. :)
@@Martin-el5uu we got the 3s for our kids to co-op as well. We have a 2, and a 3. The 3 is amazing. As someone who has used both, is the 3s comparable for kids especially with less flexibility in setting the PPD distance. Would love your thoughts.
Review perfection ..can not be any better.... unfortunately the problem with vr headsets continue and this is for me the fov...to small..when vr go 130 degree horizontal or more then vr will be amazing...
Nice video. I'm in the UK and cancelled a pre-order for the 128GB 3s at £290 and bought the 512GB 3 at £469 instead. I've never owned a Quest headset before. Three things made me change my mind. Firstly people on the forums who had owned Q2 said the jump in lens quality to the Q3 is massive. Secondly, I realised that top games like Asgards Wrath 2 are huge and take over 30GB which is a quarter of the space on a 128GB headset. (Yes you can delete and download later, but that's quite annoying). Finally, when I thought about it, both options are very expensive. This isn't a small amount of money for either headset. I didn't want to spend £290 and not feel happy and wish I had spent the extra. So I bought the Q3 512GB. (I could have had the now discontinued 128GB Q3 for £409, but that didn't seem sensible either). In summary, I have never tried the Q2 or Q3S, but I am more than happy with my Q3 512GB. Performance is well beyond what I hoped for and I feel free to download as many games as I want (bearing in mind that a new headset brings 3 months free trial on Quest+). These are very expensive toys and you will undoubtedly want a new strap and maybe a carry case, total price in the UK £120, so keep that in mind and don't buy either headset if cash is short.
I would advise strongly against buying a 128gb version. I went for the Quest2 64gb from the release, after some time (when games got bigger), it kept me installing, removing, and reinstalling games. As a precaution I ordered the 3S 256gb which seemed the better option, could have gone for the Q3, but combined with my other orders (bobovr stuffs, it became quite the price).

Jumped into VR with a quest 3 and have had the best experience. The argument for most people will be 3 or 3s. 3 IMO opinion wins due to the higer res, pankcake lenses, and the clarity of the pass through.
Hi Cas! Thank you for the very helpful video. I’m interested in purchasing the Meta 3S, but there is one thing that concerns me. What about CI users? I am profoundly hearing impared and wear cochlear implant on my left side (Since April of this year and soon I’ll have one on the right side too). The coil/magnet is positioned on my head, right above my ear's top, about 3.5-4 centimeters. I’m worried that the headstrap might interfere with the coil and affect comfort. However, I think the Kiwi Design H4 Boost Halo headstrap might be very good choice. For example, can I adjust the headstrap upwards so that it wraps around above the coil, or just simply adjust the headstrap for larger diameter to fit over the coil while still being comfortable to wear? :) I have HP Reverb G2 and I can put it on with my CI (carefully), but I haven’t yet tested its comfort over a longer period. I also wear glasses-I have a big glasses for every day usage and have a really small pair for VR use-and I’m glad that Meta includes Glasses spacer. :) What do you think?
Thank you very much for the great review! I've just got a question... How big is the difference when using them for work, like virtual Desktop, reading text etc.? Would really appreciate an answer!
I enjoyed your video and as a new Meta Quest s3 VR user, I've learned a lot. One major shock is the price of accessories! The battery pack head unit is way over £150, I've managed to find the same on Temu which cost me £8 (Zyber store front) Thanks for getting me to understand why the lenses aren't all perfectly sharp, I thought it was my eyes...phew! 😊
Great review I was trying to figure out if I should get the quest three or the 3S for my nephew for Christmas and your review helped me make that decision. He will be getting the 3S since he’s only 12 and just beginning.
Nope. But the quest 3 accessories are. Finally. For their 5th device, meta finally managed to make 2 devices with the the same (beside the headphone jack) head strap mounting. I can’t believe it took so long.
Two hints: - The 3 does not use the full resolution (unless you are using the 3rd party app QGO). So it`s hard to compare them just with the amount of pixels - Remove the face cover from the 3s. FOV will be awesome!
Great review cas is the first time I have seen you 😁👋 I have had a quest 3 for 11 months now I mainly play ghosts of tabor kinda addicted to it 🙄 was thinking of upgrading with a gaming pc so I can play half life Alyx.great review I’ll be watching for more and I’ll check out your other vids 😁👍🏻🇬🇧can’t wait for the quest 4 now 🤣😂👍🏻
There are no earbuds with zero lag. There are earbuds from PrismXR and Anker but they have some lag. They are def better than standard earbuds, but they are not good enough for games where zero lag is important.
Gotta get the bobovr strap, its like $90 and $40 for an extra battery so same $130 as the elite plus battery not including an extra battery and its waaaaaaaay better.
Since the SoC is the same and the display resolution is lower, the performance should be better on Meta Quest 3S, the question is, if the difference is noticeable.
Could someone tell me how much of a difference is 128GB vs 356GB? I am looking to get a VR headset. I am not a heavy gamer. I will play sports games, exercise routine maybe watch some movies. Will 128GB be enough?
Great video, with many good, simple explanations! Thank you! The Q3S is for people that can't afford the Q3. It is that simple. The Q3 is better. It has better lenses and display panels making the image higher resolution, with nearly edge to edge clarity, and no god-rays. There is nothing wrong with the Q3S, it is just the normal case of getting a more affordable product by cutting corners. I would never go back to Fresnel, but I am lucky enough to be able to afford a Q3. That is not the case for everyone. No one else can tell **you** which one to buy, because no one knows exactly how much the price difference means to **you.**
I think it might be better just to not buy anything in that case. I really do. This could easily wind up costing people who buy the 3S more money in the long-term after they get sick of the fresnel lenses.
Excellent video. The only big downside of the 3s that I see is the missing 3.5 mm headphone port. Anyway, I have the 3 with 512 GB since 2 weeks and it's very comfortable for me, even with the basic headstrap. I can see very clearly, even without my glasses, unlike with other VR headsets. 512 GB is too much, 128 would have done the job as well but they were at the same price in my country, so the decision was easy. I'm hooked.
Great review. Do you think the Q3 offers much better resolution than Q3s for movie viewing? I find the Q3s offers mediocre resolution when viewing 1080 video, such as blurry images and texts.
At that price, Quest 3 would've been a better value for $100 more. Pancake lenses, much bigger storage, better display, depth sensor, and better IPD control.
I never comment on RUclips videos, but I really feel the need to chime in here. I recommend returning it to get the Quest 3 512 GB unless you're ok with fresnel lenses. If you're not familiar with them them, they are pretty terrible. I've seen RUclipsrs trying to sugarcoat it, but they are really that bad to most people. It matters to people who have never used VR before and VR veterans. It's not as if people who have not used VR before will not notice how blurry they are. But anyway the main problem is that in real life when you look around you can move your eyes without moving your head to see things. With fresnel you can do that, but everything outside of the small sweet spot is blurry, so instead of being able to just use your eyes to look around, you have to move your head around a lot more to see things clearly than is natural to do. It's especially bad when reading text. That being said, you'll have fun with both types of lenses.
@@thebeatles1548 thanks for the comment. I am really conflicted that difficult of getting the 3S sweet spot is a spoiler for me. Rather save and spend the extra time get the 3
They will work and install the same on the 3s because they both use fresnel lenses. Quest 3 uses pancake lenses so you will need transfer your prescription towards 3 lenses.
Any chance you can test and test and review the HiBlocks charging dock that charges the Quest 3 AND their silicone grip controllers-only BOBOVR has a dock that charges the Quest 3 AND their silicone grips. Would love to know what you think
Outstanding review! I own both the Quest 2 and Quest 3 and really appreciate your honest opinion, especially that which concerns the lenses. In a nut shell, I always found myself wanting more clarity. The added resolution and pancake lenses of the Quest 3 provided that. Yeah, it’s still not perfectly sharp like what we see on high quality recordings, but obtaining that might require 6-8 K resolution. People often don’t understand that eye distance from the optics demands higher pixel count in an effort to make it difficult for the human eye to actually see the pixels (also known as the screen door effect) from earlier designs. 👍🏻
Red matter 2 looks stunning clarity wise, idk why most games even the menu of the quest doesn't use the full resolution

I can always buy another in the future got me so ama go with the 3s see how it is thanks, because the lenses makes me sick alot while I heard the pancakes doesn't, but if they add eye tracking to future meta quest headsets I could buy those instead too
I'm still new to VR, having only bought my PSVR2 last Feb. I have been considering splurging on a Quest model to get access to that expanded library and to see if some games are more playable (this feels like the wrong word... basically if the controllers make a big difference. the PSVR2 sense controllers are great on the native games, but a bit clunky on things like Beat Saber where I occasionally bash the rings when trying to do some movements). Your estimation that a Quest 4 might come next year though makes me think I'll be better off just enjoying the PSVR2 for the time being and waiting to see if a new flagship launch does come through. I'm in no way unhappy with the PSVR2 experience, it's just the curiosity from the VR bug now I've been bitten that makes me wonder if it's worth the buy in on a second platform. Already have Steam VR, so it would just be the Quest library and Mixed Reality experiences I'd be grabbing with a Quest headset. Excellent review though. The more I see from you on these the more that bug bite itches.
nice video! What about the comparison between PSVR2 and meta quest 3s? I own a psvr2 but i am thinking of a meta quest 3s as a much more stand alone experience without cables. What is your opinion? Is it a big downgrade compared to psvr2?
This is an excellent review. Very mindful, very demure 😅 I actually expected the 3S to be closer to the 3, but your explanation fits very well to the price tag. I am still unsure if I will upgrade from my Quest 2. I don't miss anything yet.
great parts in video said i just getting into VR after 3 years of thinking about it SO 3s i thought might be great for Getting into the world of VR my quest arriving 7.11. thanks so much for some great news what to expect from 3s i cannot wait to play Metro Awakaning main reason why i getting VR this year great content keep up the great work
The headstrap on my Q1 is sadly broken and I have a Pico Neo 3 Link for PCVR. Could really see the Q3S as a replacement so I can keep playing the games I have for my Q1 but I'll wait and see. Maybe for Christmas.
I'm still on the fence about which to get. I *could* afford the 3, but I'm not one to just throw money away. The only VR I've experienced was the PSVR and I barely used that because of all of the bulky wires and annoying camera. This looks much more user friendly, but at the same time I'm not really sure just how much I'd be using it. The main interest I have is for watching movies and a few simple games. Is the price difference *really* worth the upgrade when it comes to streaming movies or playing Batman or mini-golf? This was super informative, but I'm still indecisive. It definitely did a good job making me pinpoint that I do in fact want this product; I just don't which of the 2 haha.
I would have bought the quest 3 over the 3s but the prices went skyrocketing upwards in Canada making the 3s 128gb 399 instead of 299 so I settled on the 128 quest 3s because the 3 was like 650 or something like that.
From an engineering standpoint the Quest 3S just makes sense for Meta. They get to use the cheap lenses and screen from the Quest 2, while using the latest Snapdragon. It's probably cheaper for them to order the same chip and streamline the manufacturing process, rather than have two separate chips they use for two products. Also they probably get better deals when ordering larger quantities of the same chip as well because quantity is key when it comes to making cheaper electronics. I suspect that they will discontinue the Quest 2 very soon because the 3S is basically a replacement for it. The manufacturing cost may be lower for them even though it's a better product. As someone who owns a Quest 2, I don't think it makes sense to get the Quest 3S unless you only want better performance and don't care about the display. If I were to spend money on a new headset I'd definitely want a better display and viewing experience because otherwise an upgrade seems pointless. But for someone just getting into VR, I think this is a great headset if you can get it at $300.
Hi enjoy your video and great info... I got the mq3 for my son he only had this for 5 days and it crashes when he has played rec room and he has to hold the button down to get it to start up again has anyone experienced this problem as well.
I honestly don't see a potential for Q3S. Anyone who wants to dive into VR Q3 is just so much better choice. Because the last thing you want in VR is to get disappointed by blurry visuals. As for those who already have Q2 - there is no point in getting very minor upgrade for the whole price of a new headset.
The 3S has plenty of potential. Not everyone is jumping on a $500 headset... New and curious users who've never tried VR will love the 3S. This nonsense about " fresnel blur" is getting ridiculous.. fresnel lenses have been the standard for VR for over a decade, plenty of people also LOVED quest 2. The only people that don't want fresnel lenses are people who already have Quest 3, which isn't helpful for new users in the VR/Quest community, as it makes them feel like the Quest 3S is just a bad product, without having any frame of reference prior to purchase.. which is a goddamn lie..
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 I think people will love the 3S and I think people will also have in their back of their heads that they could've saved up for much better lenses. We didn't have this in the back of our minds during the Quest 2 era because pancake lenses weren't an option. Everyone knew the fresnel lenses were blurry back in the day. People new to VR will notice fresnel is blurry as well because their frame of reference is the real world/screens/glasses while knowing the Quest 3 exists. Q3s makes sense is if the person can't afford the 3 now and is unable to save up to buy the Quest 3 later.
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 potential to get a bad experience and never get back into VR? Yes, but why? VR is far from being perfect still, why make it worse?
I'm into building a flight sim cockpit and want as good mix realty as possible without paying an arm and a leg like the vario XR-4 which costs about 18000 usd so which quest 3 or 3s is best for reading info in the display and gauge?
Why did the cup bend all over the place on the passthrough on the 3 and on the 3s it stayed perfectly shaped? From seeing your and others videos the 3s pass through seems better to me but thats just my opinion. Great vid btw!!!
Aunite Cas, based on everything, if i had to choose between 3s and 3 I choose Quest 3. The 3S is just a follow up of the Q2. The Q2 is already powerful enough with its snapdrgon chip. In my opinion, VR games arent that great, or could be better. When i say this, i mean i would rather game on a PC or Console. Now, with VR desktop App, the combination of two is already ( for someone like me) is enough. The resolution is better on 3,and 3S uses Q2. Q3 is avging 400usd for 128. I believe the resolution is more important than specs, the less pixelated, the better. These headsets are best for casual use like movies, mixed reality and etc. gaming isnt there yet. the Q2,3S,3 is quite powerful chip as it is. In my opinion, in the VR space, resolution of the headset is far more important than the specs. Wouldn't want to watch a 240p resolution video over a 360p. I didn't feel any real differences in specs between Q2 and Q3.

@@CasandCharyhi great review thank you .. I subbed bc you were thorough in yuur review .. But what about memory. Does memory matter in the headsets ? It seems that the more memory it has it costs 100$ more .. is memory important with the headsets ? Have you made a video on memory in the headsets? I’d really like to watch it if you have. Thank you..
I just got this headset 5 days ago and coming from Q1, i believed this was the best choice along with Virtual Desktop looking amazing (watching this currently on VD). This was an accurate review!
How do you feel using VD for work related purposes ?? .. like reading text , emails etc ? ... is the text easily readable ?
great review as expected Cas :), bought a refurb premium 128 Q3 from Amazon for $379, arriving today!
That's such a good deal, congrats and welcome to the VR fam!
@@chrism790 hey man PLEASE let me know what’s up with it, if it’s worth the bang for for your buck, or a “you get what you pay for” type deal. 🤦🏾♂️
Are their any lense scratches , bad tracking , defects etc.
I don’t expect scratches or anything since it’s sold by meta official.
this is awesome thank you. i bought the Quest 3 and i dag gone love it!
New to VR. Thanks
This was all we needed to make a decision! Thanks for the fantastic information!
Bought Quest 3S after watching your video. As im coming directly from Playstation VR 1 from ps4 era, and im casual user i think it will be good
I got a Quest 3 months ago for $350, basically new in box just no shrink wrap, same with PSVR2 months before that, at $400 I'd advise going to Facebook marketplace and getting a great deal on a Quest 3!!
100%
Same got one too for 300 and bovar head strap like new
Great review, thorough and concise. I'm going to go with the 3.
I just recently got my quest 3s. I became a fan of VR since PSVR1, years ago.
Another great review! Thank you for sharing your opinion.
those pants are so cool. love them!
Thank you!
Great overview as expected!
Best video I've seen. Thanks!
I'm going to wait for holiday sales and pickup the Quest 3.... I have the Quest 2 but I think I want to upgrade to pancake lenses.
@@AnalogX64 THIS. This is the way to go.
Once you experience pancake lenses there ain’t no going back 😁
@@_Paul_N yes they are nice but the oled panel on the psvr2 is chef's kiss .
Solid review and great analogies.
I wish more people knew that there are so many brilliant games on the VR platform! 👍
Great review as always. Honestly, when it comes to VR, it is mostly about visuals. It is a better deal to spend more for better optics.
Yeah I didn't think you will see a quest headset get that unless a partner builds one. At 3000
Thank you for a great review and comparison.
I really think Quest 3 delivers more than its price point. I also strongly believe every review must consider the price.
Always great reviews, top notch
Glad you like them! They take a long long time :)
Thank you for this video, I'm gonna get the 128 gb version for christmas as my first headset

Love your reviews!
I would like to see you make a video on how you measured the FOV on the Quest 3s and Quest 3.
Great video. Quest 3S is not for me, the 3 position IPD adjuster is why, and it doesn't cater from my IPD.
They should of done a 5 position IPD.
It would be nice to know which apps you're running while you review the headsets.
Jumped into VR with a quest 3 and have had the best experience. The argument for most people will be 3 or 3s. 3 IMO opinion wins due to the higer res, pankcake lenses, and the clarity of the pass through.
Are there any good forums about Meta quests especially related in using for design ?
Main goals for quest: multi monitor set for working, movies, Half-Life Alyx. So is 3S enough?
What do you think?
Thank you very much for the great review! I've just got a question... How big is the difference when using them for work, like virtual Desktop, reading text etc.? Would really appreciate an answer!
Your videos are the best
Finally getting one. Can't wait to see how different the quest 3 for Gravity Sketch...
I enjoyed your video and as a new Meta Quest s3 VR user, I've learned a lot. One major shock is the price of accessories! The battery pack head unit is way over £150, I've managed to find the same on Temu which cost me £8 (Zyber store front)
Thanks for getting me to understand why the lenses aren't all perfectly sharp, I thought it was my eyes...phew! 😊
Great review I was trying to figure out if I should get the quest three or the 3S for my nephew for Christmas and your review helped me make that decision. He will be getting the 3S since he’s only 12 and just beginning.
Are the quest 2 accessories compatible with 3s? Such as elite strap and face cover?
Nope. But the quest 3 accessories are. Finally. For their 5th device, meta finally managed to make 2 devices with the the same (beside the headphone jack) head strap mounting. I can’t believe it took so long.
Two hints:
- The 3 does not use the full resolution (unless you are using the 3rd party app QGO). So it`s hard to compare them just with the amount of pixels
- Remove the face cover from the 3s. FOV will be awesome!
i'm software developer, can i use it to replace monitor ? i'm mainly using vscode
It's uncomfortable to wear for longer than 30min - 1hr so I wouldn't recommend it for replacing a monitor
@@ainsleyharriott2209 yeah, you`re right, its a bummer since my apartment quite small, i really don't want to add more monitor

Hmm, good review. Was really looking for how bad the latency was with Bluetooth earbuds. I HATE they moved way from dedicated audio jack.
There is good earbuds out there for the quest. I forgot the brand name but has 0 lag
@@spidermonkeynr1 $120 dollars though
There are no earbuds with zero lag. There are earbuds from PrismXR and Anker but they have some lag. They are def better than standard earbuds, but they are not good enough for games where zero lag is important.
epic review!
Amazing review!
Can you use the Link cable with the 3s?
Nice comparison, ordered the Q3S 256 2 weeks ago, will be arriving tomorrow (when I’m not at home 😂, great delivery times of UPS there).
Its launching tomorrow, you should be better informed
Rather save and spend the extra time get the 3
Do you know if prescription lenses bought for the quest 2 would work on the 3?
yes they will, at least they will work on the 3s since they have the same exact size lenses
They will work and install the same on the 3s because they both use fresnel lenses. Quest 3 uses pancake lenses so you will need transfer your prescription towards 3 lenses.
Though i do dig the compact charger with recharable batteries a lot. Kept that
video really pushed me to get the 3s. Sad to say goodbye to the rift s, but loving the 3s so far!
Any chance you can test and test and review the HiBlocks charging dock that charges the Quest 3 AND their silicone grip controllers-only BOBOVR has a dock that charges the Quest 3 AND their silicone grips. Would love to know what you think
The issue is actually Fresnel vs Pancake lenses. Fresnel lenses have a very narrow sweet spot for clarity. Hate that.
How did you measure the FoV -- those are lovely graphs!
I can always buy another in the future got me so ama go with the 3s see how it is thanks, because the lenses makes me sick alot while I heard the pancakes doesn't, but if they add eye tracking to future meta quest headsets I could buy those instead too
thanks for sharing! ❤🙂
Very mindful, very demure 😅
I actually expected the 3S to be closer to the 3, but your explanation fits very well to the price tag. I am still unsure if I will upgrade from my Quest 2. I don't miss anything yet.

great content keep up the great work
The headstrap on my Q1 is sadly broken and I have a Pico Neo 3 Link for PCVR.
Could really see the Q3S as a replacement so I can keep playing the games I have for my Q1 but I'll wait and see.
Maybe for Christmas.
Though i do dig the new meta compact dock controllers charger with recharable batteries a lot. Kept that
I'm still on the fence about which to get.
Wait you need a meta subs to use these VR sets?
Will I be able to play vr games with a link cable on decent settings? I have a rx6800m 12gb card in the laptop
This what i am sacred of as a new user, if i spen 300 then get headache whole money is waste, better spend 500 and use it atleast

@@mattiasrask1575 quest 3 would be your best bet for clarity with the pancake lens
Excellent job
Thanks Cas and Chary XR.
