Bought it last weekend and just started playing today. I’m taking it slow and just soaking in all the atmosphere at the moment. I think it’s a great addition to the series and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
18:44 Little fun fact for this guy, they added that little cutscene on launch, on Early Access he was a bit of a meme cause he casted Featherfall from the cliff then jumped down shouting: "Make way for the Blade of Frontiers" or something along those lines, but sometimes either Featherfall somehow glitched out and outright died, and because he is not yet your companion by that point, you couldn't even resurrect him, only being able to either load or have him perma dead
@@thedeergodant5289 The problem is how big the game is and what has to happen during gameplay. The base is Dungeons and Dragons. Which requires the slower paced gameplay (turn based) to control 4+ characters at once in the midst of combat. The turn based combat, while not as fast paced, makes it possible to actually do everything you need. If it was more like Final Fantasy 15, then you would only be able to do a few things, where maybe 70-80% of the fight that you normally would have control over would be given to NPCs. Though yes, we all wish we could play dnd like an action rpg.
With how you're playing the game, disregarding all companions basically, you'd probably get the most out of playing through as the 'dark urge'. Perfectly encapsulates this approach to playing the game.

For added attack value, you can engage enemies one character at a time if you turn off team follow and make individual attacks instead of all running in together and rolling initiatives at the same time. Basicly it'll give you first attack for all your heros before enemies know what's up.
I find it better to all go in. You can click on a character further down the initiative in a group for specific combos you want to do and it will revert back to first in line, sort of like holding an action.

The game captures the absolute agony of throwing dices in dnd so well, I love it, don't feel bad dude, I once only got 1's and 2's on a campaign and the only time I got a good dice was when we were trying to cross a river and the DM asked me to roll a perception check. I helped the group realize that the things brushing against our legs were algae and not monsters and void fish
If ur actually enjoying the turnbase. You should keep playing. I’d love to watch looks amazing, but I can’t play turn base personally. But ur edits make it dope ❤

I never played early access at all, so I went in brand new and made a Dragonborn Bard. This is one of the most badass RPGs I have ever played. If nobody likes this, I don't know what to tell you. The graphics, music, and gameplay are bomb.
turn based to me is probably the most boring way to play a game other than text based adventures. but its also overly complex and thats just not my thing.

Diablo 4 was a zombie game. It was like a placeholder until something better came along, even if DM didn't realize it.

You can, but it also takes away your action for the first turn for each character you do this with. So basically you just guarantee you attack first.

Larian is way better than even classic bioware. Dos2 did a good enough job of proving that.
