  • My 2013 Ford Escape has been overheating recently, especially after sitting at a long traffic light. It has the 2.0 EcoBoost engine with All Wheel Drive. My investigation led me to find that the radiator cooling fan was not running. I was able to cure the problem for just the cost of a fuse! Two other common problems are the voltage sensor on the negative battery cable and recognition that if the battery goes dead, you can't open the rear hatch to get your jumper cables and the shifter is locked in Park.
The best Fuse Diagrams that show the MEGA fuses are from Rick's, if you scroll all the way to the bottom.

You are the greatest! I checked the other fuses but never knew about the mega fuses. Will try today.

Tried starting my 2014 Ford Escape but the battery died. Just like you. I had my jump box in the trunk. I had to crawl over the back seat to get it. Now, the jump box is under the driver's seat. :D

Thanks for that fuse heads up. I hope I remember it. Yeah, I had the same battery problem. Fortunately it died in the garage.

Great information! Not sure if the fuse is my problem, but it seems like a good place to start. Thanks!

Great content, I'm thinking on getting that exact same model, besides the problems on this video, has that SUV been running smoothly?

The engine runs great and uses no oil between oil changes. I have used Pennzoil Ultra and changed it every 5,000 miles. The 2000 CC motor is strong with 240 horsepower. The body is solid with no squeaks. I still like it a lot after 10 years and 125,000 miles..
