In truth I had the same happen on my 2015 Escape though I decided to replace all the back hoses at once , most of the plastic felt brittle . 200 for all the hoses but knowing you wont be doing that again for a long time is worth it.

I greatly dislike working on Ford's. They're always put together very wild. So many hoses, lines, wires running everywhere. Makes it so annoying to work on. Ironically, I work on at least 1-2 escapes a week and majority of the time it's odd coolant related problems. Similar to what you just did..

Gosh, it's nice to know that Ford kept up the tradition of enigma-fiying the engine bay. Had a 98 escort zx2 with the zetec. Had to take everything off to get to anything for a repair. They were easy but time consuming

Just bought a 2014 used escape in january. Have had so many issues with coolant leaking. Dealership tried to fix it but problem persists . Its a nightmare. Ford pressure tested it. Said no leak so dealership stopped helping me. I owe 15k on the car. seeing puddles of coolant couple mornings a week after sitting all night. Puddles are always on front driver side. Have to add maybe a cup of coolant every 2-3 weeks. Radiator? Water pump? Brought to vip they cant see any leaks. I went underneath the car and transmission has orange coolant all over it and can see it slowly dripping

    • @raymondballay1368
      @raymondballay1368 9 месяцев назад

@michaelMontantez Did you ever find the root cause for the smoke under the hood? I came across a video where a possible hairline crack in the block (near the same firewall area) causing oil slippage and burning thus creating the smoke from under the hood. At this point I’m wondering, is this coolant hose leak, or possible oil leak? My coolant is constantly depleting overtime, whereas my oil level seems to hold just fine. So I’m leaning more to the coolant hose as the culprit but I am not sure. The smoke pulls in a burning smell thru the vents in the cab when accelerating upwards of 3k rpms

I am reading the dealer reconditioning invoice for a used 2015 Ford Escape that I am interested in purchasing. The car has been on their lot for 2 months without selling. It's $13,440 and has 105K miles - not terrible but not great mileage. Might be okay for my elderly father who wll be driving at most 200 miles a month. I asked why it hasn't sold at what seems like a good deal. Dealer dude says he thinks people may be scared off because of the high mileage. Um, okay, maybe.
The dealer repairs totaled $4,000 which seems high. A lot of the work was to replace all tires, replaced front and rear rotors and all 4 pads, oil change, top off fluids, windshield chip, replace rear seat trim panel, full vehicle touchup. These all seem like standard work to prepare a used car for sale, maybe. But, as I read more detail I see some things which I am questioning if this is the real reason the car hasn't been purchased --
    1. Peform Full Vehicle Detail - Heavy compound excessive scratching and/or hard water staining around veh abap
    2. Cleaned oil residue and installed Blue Devil treatment; CLEANED LEAKING TURBO AND PIPES, ADDED BLUE DEVIL
    3. Replaced driver tail light assembly (dealer dude says the picture he has showed the light had like fog/moisture in it); maybe a small crack I ask? I asked if the car had been in an accident which isn't on the CARFAX report -maybe.
    4. Perform body repairs
    5. Customer states the MIL light is on - DURING QC THE MIL LIGHT CAME ON. PERFORMED DIAG FOR CODE P26B7. COOLANT BYPASS VALVE SPEC IS 7-14 OHMS, TESTING AT 214 OHMS. NEED TO REPLACE VALUE & RECHECK.
    6. REPLACE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE AND COOLANT, TEST DROVE 2 CYCLES, RECHECKED
Items 2, 5, 6 concern me. What more should I be looking for or asking? Or should I run in the other direction?

I’ll have to look there for a leaky hose!
I hope that’s the cause of my Ford escape issues..!
Ford Escape 2008 losing coolant (I can’t see the leak)
I put in a new OEM reservoir due to the old one cracked.
I do see a dripping of water after car use from a small hose peaking out from the firewall passenger side. Looks like a drain hose…?
The weather started getting cold and I began using the heater…. Now, I get a steamy windshield !
Heater puts out hot air but, steams the windshield.
I’m constantly adding about 12oz of coolant water mix.
