Holy hair, look at you two. Maybe the dungeon crawler with a witch that you were thinking of is Labyrinth of Refrain? I haven't played it, but it's supposed to be good.
Looks like people are using an auto-mapping feature if they want to play with controller on the Switch.
Etrian Odyssey without the map making just isn’t Etrian Odyssey. It’s one of the core tenants of the game.
I’m genuinely hoping they get it right, but not having a stylus is going to suck. Auto-mapping has been in all the most recent entries and I’m sure that’ll be a go to for a lot of players, but it just won’t be the same.
I guess I could settle on a grid based cursor system, drawing the map with a controller but it really just won’t be the same.
Still going to buy them though.
EO is one of the few franchise that really belong to a particular kind of hardware. DS/3DS. It just doesn't work on a classic single screen console.

@@RPGArchive1 we were both close to predicting the remaster’s possibility - I think it was just hard for both of us to contemplate what Etrian Odyssey is without traditional mapmaking.
Still is. I remain a skeptic until the end!
