Persona 3 Reload was an extremely disappointing remake that loses much of the identity of the original, so I can't say that an SMT IV remake from Atlus is something that I want anymore. But if it does happen then hopefully it isn't handled as poorly as Reload.

The post game is why its so in depth. To even get the beat maps u gotta max classes and rebirth a few times b4 they come available. You didnt mention the most op skill in the game...tension. a max tension fandango will obliterate anything pretty quick. I get ot yall were just talkin bout a normal play thru n thats fair😊

I ran Landy Protector / Survivalist Medic Alchemist. Immunize was OP. 1st Turn and the skill to prevent getting surprise attacked was critical for the survivalist. Protector anti element you cap at 5. any further and the healing will allow insta kill to go through from the dragon bosses.

The problem is, there's one single rpg, Xenogears specifically, that requires its protagonist to be shown speaking. Yes, I said it. Xenogears MANDATES Fei to both be the protagonist and to be a speaking character. While, say, Trails of Cold Steel and FFXII could have had Rean or Vaan as silent protagonists, you could have made Shulk silent in Xenoblade 1 or used a silent POV character (Barret? Tifa?) to follow Cloud in FFVII, you could have made Zidane from FFIX silent, but Xenogears just doesn't accept a silent protagonist at all, neither in the sense of making Fei silent nor by using a silent POV character following him. XG is heavily reliant on forcing emotions down the player's throat. Fei does not want to travel the world, the first half of the game insists that he's being dragged against his will and only wants to run, to avoid responsibility, to live in peace and not having anything to do with the wars going on around himself, while he keeps meeting Elly and the two start to get attached to the point she leaves Solaris and he takes her with him, and their relationship evolves over time. Emotional turmoil going on inside Fei is one of the central topics of XG. XG has things such as an alternate personality for Fei and memories he represses, XG has conversations where Fei has effect on Elly (and other characters) just as much as the other character's part of the conversation has an effect on him, making him silent means that you hide words that are required for another character's arc and as such ruining the enjoyment of that arc. You are forced not to see Fei as yourself, because the game is telling you about Fei. You could have used another character as silent POV over Fei, but that case would have made the love story of Fei with Elly much less personal. I think next Final Fantasy after XVI won't have a speaking protagonist, as a way to contrast with XVI being, like XG and some arcs of the Trails series, one of the very few games that mandates having a speaking protagonist that is in a specific condition: XVI is a drama about growing up to be a leader and about Clive's relationship with his brother, and a few Trails such as the Crossbell arc and Daybreak strictly require Lloyd and Van to both be the protagonist and to be shown speaking at the same time, because Lloyd and Van are meant to be faces of an institution with a placement in the setting's power dynamics, only they can talk for the institution they represent, only through their POVs that personal and professional relationships intersect.

The iOS version has a bug (and I’d guess the Android has it, too.). Sometimes, the Dream Scapes don’t trigger. You find them in the bottom world, but it’s not recognized that you’ve found them in the upper world. Don’t know what triggers the bug, and I’m not going to restart from the beginning just to see if I get it again.

To clarify: Areas have a cap. If your character level reaches the cap, that character won’t gain job points at all.

Great vid! I just finished Dragon quest 6 a week ago on mobile and I gotta say I really loved it, I knew it was the black sheep going in and I came out pleasantly surprised, i only had to look stuff up a few times but I’ve always played dragon quest by exploring every inch of the map and talking to every npc, so once that map opened up the last half of the game was a breeze for me (besides when I found out I needed to do the fashion show) it really felt like the closest game in style to DQ3 and I loved it for that. I can completely understand the criticisms though, as far as characters go carver is the goat like you guys said, I think the hero got some great development, and I think you guys slept on Ashlynn I found all her dialogue really funny throughout, even if her story presence was a bit strange with her “true identity” really feeling forced in there, I loved the class system as well which I think was a big reason I enjoyed the game over some others, and as far as its connection to the trilogy you guys basically got it spot on, it’s more of a Easter egg then essential lore, but one thing you missed was an npc you meet in zenith castle who expresses their desire to visit the human world and fall in love, the implication being this is the npc who eventually will go down and fall in love with a human and then give birth to the dragon quest 4 Hero. But yeah great vid I think DQ 6 is a great game that’s bogged down by a lot of little things more than having any huge flaw and depending on who you are and what your looking for it can be hit or miss

SNES version all day. Better graphics, music sounds way better, monster taming, no original mechanics removed, and the DS version is WAY easier due to the high amount of experience and gold you receive from monsters.

Back then it was a great idea But it makes a game that is now hard to re-release as it is Most of the game is in the multiplayer and online, and without it you're missing on a lot of content and fun stuff (Don't get me wrong, even without that it's still a nice game, but it's not the same) And it did lead to Streetpass so idk I think it being a DS game was a pretty good idea Only exception (in my opinion) is the 3D models, some monsters in that game (DQMJ have that problem too, with also certain islands that are pretty hard to look at now) looks not that great at all today, but that's just how DS' 3D is

Less than five minutes in I realized neither of you guys know what youre talking about. For one, priests dont GET Kazing, ever. Kazing is unique to Sages. And it has been the essence of simplicity to check that for many years now. Also, only training a character in one vocation is noob crap. Also also, Oomph becomes an exercise in frustration to try to use late-game because almost all of the bosses hit you with Disruptive Wave and then you're back to basics. The only thing that helps allay that frustration is that you can Disruptive Wave them just as easily.

Ps2 version is great

Never liked Breath Of Fire, no matter how much I tried to like it, it was never any good. Probably for the best it's dead.

AEIOU Chronicles, the first ever ABCDEFJRPG

I'm definitely one of the die hard BoF fans :D The series is indeed very special to me: 3 is the first big jrpg I experienced, while 4 is one of my favourite games of all time. It's a great classic series, and I'd say that it was actually pretty popular by the psone days (when 3 and 4 were released). Unfortunately, however, it has always seemed that Capcom never really supported it. E.g., BoF's characters were never featured in Marvel vs Capcom games. Compared to the insane amount of art books or merchandise of other series (e.g., Street Fighter), BoF got crickets. And so on... The sad reality is that Capcom, for whatever reason, let the series die after Dragon Quarter and that horrendous "BoF6" was just the final nail in the coffin. It would be nice to see them do something with it, but by now I wouldn't hold my breath on it (kinda like Dino Crisis) Would I want remakes? Ideally yes, but how would you do them? Is there actually a market for it besides me lol?

Hell Yeah BOF2 was the best one. BOF4 is like a continuation of BOF3. And even Dragon Quarter was cool once you put together the story and learned how to play.

Sounds like it drew from the storytelling of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon more than anything.

I would buy it as well as the offline version of Dragon Quest X but what I really want is Dragon Quest IV-VIII for the Switch. They released I-III in a physical collection for the Switch and it's an essential set for a huge RPG fan like me, so why can't they release the next 5 games as well?
