One of the things that Jagger should be remembered for is that he could do the same act forty or fifty years after doing it the first time and not lose much. That in itself is remarkable.

This album was my baby sitter while my parents smoked pot and drank wine in early 1970s . I loved the album cover art. I want 🍰!!!! Whenever I see cake I remember this album. I ALWAYS have an unmade bed.
Absolutely epic performance of one of their lesser known songs that never got much radio airplay. Keith is spot on with the riff, Ronnie is masterful on slide, Charlie's beat is more addictive than smack, and the last look by Mick says "take that!"
I saw them in the kingdome in Seattle in about 1980? The BEST concert ever. The only other that has come close was Muse...great memories of the concert they were incredible!
Almost the Anti-Swing. I always think of "Honkey Tonk Women", and how his simplicity just MAKES that cut. It would have been so easy to overplay on that song, but he just owns that grove, especially when he "turns the beat around".
Mr Watts comes from a jazz background. His chops. Never, ever to be doubted. Not sure what the other gentleman was talking about. Only, perhaps Ginger Baker, and some others in the same league. Mick F. To name one
Can you post a link to the studio version? And my fave is you look up Charlie Watts Monkey man and it's all Charlie jammin. Also an exc version probably my fave.
So upset Charlie Watts passed away yesterday. He was 80, cannot really believe any of the stones have or will make it to 80 years. RIP Charlie! You were one of the best drummers ever.
Mick pours his heart in every song every performance..the look of ecstasy on Keith's face of just Loving to play so much ..Mick Keith Charlie Ronnie Daryl as well as Lisa and the other vocalist musicians on stage just absolutely love to perform together.. The chemistry is just unbeatable their love of performing it's like eating grandma's apple pie ...where every step along the way she poured her love her heart and soul into making it..
Monkey Man, a vintage stones song 🎵. It's truly amazing. Mick is amped up and the crowd is too. The Stones are definitely delivering on bad ass rock and roll 🎉🎉
@jermainewashington7447 I agree 100%. Taylor always just stood there & STARED at his guitar. Ronnie moves around on stage & gets INTO the music - like a TRUE Rock'n'Roller. Ronnie is also an AMAZING guitar player. Taylor had an incredible style of playing, but Ronnie is just as good in HIS style & is much more entertaining to watch. Taylor came & went. Ronnie is STILL, a TRUE Rolling Stone!!
It's off the charts crazy. He's almost 60 here. Even now at 70.. compare him to any other 70 year old off the streets. People make fun of the "Rolling Bones" but damn... Mick is killing it in his senior years!
If ya live for rock & roll you will plow into old age super charged and kick old age to the curb , party like rock stars jump from planes drive fast kick ass do every thing and Ill tell yall this retirement homes wont be boring any more because rock & roll will take over ! cause its moving in
Bestes Stück der Stones! Der meiste Kram der nach dem Album "Let It Bleed" kam (ab Anfang der 1970er Jahre) ist fast ausschließlich öde Kacke, Ausschuss, Ramsch, Gedödel.
@@jamesian-allen8725 A lot has changed in the four years that's passed since i wrote this. We lost a lot of big rock legends since then. But lets be thankful for having lived through and experienced this great five decades of not only rock but all the music of the 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s. Rip.
Chuck Leavell making some lovely tinkly keyboard music in between the guitars really ups the quality quite a bit. He's like Charlie in that respect, doesn't make a big deal of what he's doing but adds a lot of complementary style and beauty to the music.
Still touring and selling out football stadiums. I just saw them in Houston for their Hackney Diamonds tour. Keith is a bit slower and Ronnie plays lead now. But Mick Jagger still seems the exact same. It was 2 hours of Rock N Roll!
I've been a big Stones fan all my life and this song ranks easily in the top 10, probably top 5 of my favorite Stones songs. It might even be number 1. It just has all the pieces of what makes them great. I love the slide guitar on the original.
One of the best Intros ever .............😘
Keith giving a smile when Mick says and "we love to play the blues" Makes my heart happy
Mick sings that line so well. Big credit to the Director/Editor as well.
cool as ice oh my god thank youuuu 4 ever
I love that moment also. Remembering Charlie this weekend. Like Mick & Keith, Charlie is irreplaceable! RIP
One the greatest intros...
Love the way he emphasised "love to play the blues" 1:34
One of the things that Jagger should be remembered for is that he could do the same act forty or fifty years after doing it the first time and not lose much. That in itself is remarkable.
A few are/were just as good as ever late in life... Bob Seger and Elton John come to mind. But, Mick has the energy of a 20-year-old.
He must be in great shape.
Always loved this song since I was a kid 🎉

YES!!!! AND WE LOVEEEEEEEE TO PLAY THE BLUEEEEEES!!!!! ❤❤❤
Love Micks face at the end! Like yeah we kicked ass on that!
sad that is a “lesser known song” this song is the pinnacle of a true rock band in its prime
1000%
Meh
Saw then in 1996 in Gainesville Florida - they played this and Can you hear me knocking - simply awesome!!
So Glad i was able to see The Rolling Stones twice , 89" & 97' ' RIP Charlie you were the best on 🥁..
Keith and Woody layin it down here. Nobody grinds one out like the Stones.
R.I.P. Charlie Watts "The Heartbeat Of The Stones"
I wish he had had more camera time on this vidso.
Damn that is good. Chuck Leavell was such a great addition.
Monkey Man one of the best Stones songs, the guitar riffing one of the best ever.
I saw them in the kingdome in Seattle in about 1980? The BEST concert ever. The only other that has come close was Muse...great memories of the concert they were incredible!
R.I.P. Dear Charlie, you was a great drummer, artist and human. We will never forget you!
It’s weird why they didn’t play this more often. It’s a groovy tune and they all seemed to love playing this number!!
mick taylor baby

Mick Taylor didn't play on the original Let It Bleed track!!
( or virtually any other track on that masterpiece album !! )
My favorite
It was freaking awesome live.
It was freaking awesome live.
Yes 😘
Charlie Watts, RIP, is the most underrated drummer ever.
So much swing.
Charlie was so good he didn’t have to show off or talk crap like some dude
Charlie made the Stones.
Plus all the other unnamed musicians.
Please Watts underrated, He was a dream in a pot of Gold,
Almost the Anti-Swing. I always think of "Honkey Tonk Women", and how his simplicity just MAKES that cut. It would have been so easy to overplay on that song, but he just owns that grove, especially when he "turns the beat around".
Everybody knew who he was. And what he was. The stones will live on forever. The will outlast this earth
My favorite song of theirs! Was so excited they played it in Philly! I love the instrumental the most!
Is there any doubt that this is the greatest rock and roll band of all time? No.
Hell NO!!
THE GREATEST! of course
And in 2019 I say NOPE . Even after heart surgery Jagger just killed it in 2019. NOT a fucking NOTE missed in 2019

That man is a great timekeeper. The best kind of drummer, for a poor guitarist like me🙂
That man is a LEGEND.
RIP to a legend

Charlie Watts was always the secret weapon of the Stones. He was the best.....
I fucking love this song. The studio version has THEE greatest intro' lead-in that I've ever heard.
Give ‘Can’t you hear me knocking’ one more listen… you might be right though.
I couldn't agree more! This is epic STONES and Charlie and my favorite tune!

what makes this song great for me is the lead and slide guitar.

"But we luuuuv to play the blues" ... love Keith's smile afterwards!

As good as it gets. Solid Stones.

It's always Mick and Keith, but props to Ronnie Wood. he added so much to the band. Great player.
I'd say that Ronnie Wood was/is the "Perfect Fit" to take the lead guitar for the "World's Greatest Rock N' Roll Band!"
Boy, I don’t know about that. That’s a bold statement. Mick Taylor was an awfully good fit for the band too, especially if you were a blues person.
Not nearly as much as Mick Taylor.
Mick Taylor was a phenomenal guitar player who DID NOT fit the band. Wood is a real Stone.😊
@jermainewashington7447 I agree 100%. Taylor always just stood there & STARED at his guitar. Ronnie moves around on stage & gets INTO the music - like a TRUE Rock'n'Roller.
