Oh yeah what a cool transformation. That body shell looked beyond help but it came up lovely. The previous owner did you a favour by leaving the film on so you could get the stickers off. Top work you guys 😁👍👍

That was really cool. Turned out looking good. That kind of compacted surface with a loose layer on top is basically what the Hornet is best at.
It did do a splendid job and it did throw that sand around really well. Happy to have this one 👍
It turned out super cool, I love the paint job and stickers! I am normally not a huge fan of the colored tires but it worked very well with the paint scheme. They really worked well out on the sand too so that was great fun seeing them throw sand all over! Great job guys!
We are looking forward to hitting some grass with it next, seems nippy and the tires are fantastic 👍

Great purchase and conversion. I heard of the foil mistake, but never seen it before. But this helped for your plans. Great design with the red. I like the new hornet stickers. Better than the originals.

Great choice. I've modified my Grasshopper so much it's now the same as a Hornet, apart from the body. It's a great low maintenance car for the beach with the sealed gearbox. It gets a bit tedious cleaning out sand from dog bones on other models. Watch out for the Hornet rear wing. It rips off easily after too many rolls 😱
The Cheif Engineer has had to buy a blower for the sand on most cars, this is going to be great fun to throw around, glad we painted the wing red so it can be found easily again 🤣😂👍
Always love a little visit to the chief engineers lair, and having a chance to see him work his magic!
That was one sorry looking hornet, looked more like a wasp that had a close running with a tin of fly spray! 😂
Not guna lie, I would have probably binned that body and just bought a new one..... figuring the amount of hours labour, and paint remover required would out price the cost of a new body.
But that's not the point right? Fair play for taking on the challenge and turning it around in style!

Torque tuned is definitely the weapon of choice to put the sting back into this hornet, as demonstrated by the beach run.
Perfect terrain for one of these, with the added bonus of a sealed diff and very few places for the sand to penetrate any of the moving parts!

I really wish I could license the theme tune for the Poddington Peas to play when we head to the Chief Engineer’s panic room. A new shell would have been an easy option, but we do like to show that most things can be turned around, keep the budget down and so on. Kevin Bloody Wilson has a fair point! I’m glad we resurrected this and the red boots really sweetened the look, I’m sure it will have some more outings, maybe some death defying antics 🤣😂🤔👍

As we are fairly new to the whole production side of things on you tube, I'm struggling to get my head around some of this copyright /licencing malarkey.
Im aware that 'technically' you aren't supposed to use other peoples music without permission.....
But we have often used well known eighties theme tunes, and big nineties trance tunes on our videos, which often result in a copyright.
But, when you click on the copyright notification is says that the producer allows it to be used on RUclips? 🤔
Similarly, we have used license free audio before specially designed for RUclips videos..... but have still ended up with a copyright!?? 🤔
It's all quite confusing!

I find by sticking to the RUclips library and scroll through that is best, if I could use copywriter music I could make better videos. But I guess everyone could then. One day I may subscribe to one of those copywrite free websites, but I do find the limitation sometimes can be quite fun. One day we will all get together and do the new Poddington Peas tune you have wrote, it will be like Live Aid but less HIV heavy 🤣😂👍

Took my brand new hornet out with the boy the other week,on a car park to try it out.Great fun,but i could not stop rolling it.Luckily no damage to spoiler,as it seemed to bounce over on tyres.I may use it as a beach car.Enjoyed the video as usual
I haven’t looked at it properly but I do think that a chassis clip on the bottom may help, similar to the Lunchbox. I shall investigate, glad you’re getting out and using it, as that’s what they are for. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 👍

Nice work and a good makeover for it, I love the Jun W one and my 80's on with still running on the original speed control and no cover on the heat resistor and the speed controller has the tamiya black balloon
They are a real classic and I’m glad we opted to get this and add it to the RC So & So fleet 👍
@@RCsoandso I love to upgrade mine but it's been around from the 80's and there is a rear and front shock upgrade
For the price of you wanted to upgrade it might be worth obtains a new one, as plastic does have a self life and if you did start changing bits you may find it has a knock on impact, it is a good price 👍

To be honest I think it once was but it’s pretty silted up these days, the cranes in the background is actually Liverpool Docks 👍
