Awesome presentstion. This'll gonna be a great build. You added just the right upgrade for the car. Same toughts about the paint as you had. Best wishes that it'll work. I'm really curious about the other purchase.
I own a DT-02 chassis, and it's a fantastic "bit of kit". I run the stock friction shocks. For me, for the full experience, the shocks are "pogo or no go".
I think pogo has its place, if they break they may get replaced, but adding oil shocks will be a bit of a waste of time, like putting indicators on an Audi 🤔
The HB is a fun kit. Putting some oil dampers on it will make it a ton more enjoyable to drive, it is very bouncy in the rear on the friction dampers. Looking forward to seeing it ripping around and what it ends up looking like!
Great unboxing guys..... It's always fun delving into a new Tamiya kit! Looks like a fun kit, and the chassis seems to receive a lot of love in general within the community. As for the paint job- 'Where there's will, there's a way'..... I'm sure you will be able to pull it off, and am looking forward to seeing what you do with it! Torque tuned should bring that thing to life nicely to. Watch this space as they say! 👍 👍 👍
I’m telling you this thing will be painted, all the neigh sayers will be gob smacked, just because it says you can’t, it doesn’t mean you have to listen, damn the man and all that jazz 🤣😂👍
@@RCsoandso That's a great attitude to roll with, and one that I can totally relate to! If someone tells me something can't be done, then I will go out of my way to prove them wrong! 😂 👍 👍 👍
I’ve not heard of that I will have to check it out, I do have a funny story about a school trip to Germany and a stripper from when I was a kid, but that’s for another time 🤣😂👍
Great stuff! I really enjoyed building the Holiday Buggy. I mostly went box art but with a few changes but I left it with the standard 380 motor for now. I'll be very curious to see how the painting works out.
I think the body is made from a polythene type plastic which paint doesn't like to adhere to. The manual even says that the body is not able to be painted. I'm looking forward to seeing if you are successful with painting it.
There is a plan, it will mean messing around but I’m confident it can be done. I knew a guy who painted a Transit Van with Emulsion once, didn’t look great, but it was painted 🤣😂👍
@@RCsoandso Nice! I built this model up about 4 years ago.But its called the sand rover, Its a blast to run, I used the sports tune motor and yes its quick! I painted my body and parts with just a nice clean and light sanding, the paint sticks good! I painted all the black bits silver white and the body which was white pale, painted metallic blue!
@@hiroyopoetker I was discussing this with the Chief Engineer yesterday and he said that at the end of the day it can be painted as its just plastic! I am sure we can get it looking good and have a good style to it 👍
The body is polyethylene which makes it difficult, but not impossible, to paint. Google "flame treatment holiday buggy" and it should pull up a video on you tube from someone who has used this method. It's common industry practice for these plastics. Good luck!
Needs a Paul Hogan action figure to match the box.
I was thinking why is Crocodile Dundee driving when I first saw it also🤔

I’m sure we can get this done with our usual spin and attitude 🤣😂👍
This is a great kit! You will enjoy it.
Hope so, looking forwards to seeing this being chucked around, I’m sure it will have some adventures 😂👍

I think we need to run it to make a decision, we may even look at anchoring the back if it’s really bad. I’m sure we can nail some paint onto this 🤔👍

You guys will love the DT02 and there is no better than a Holiday Buggy. Love the way this buggy handles. Good luck with the painting dude 🙌🏻
I’m confident it will look ok, how it looks after abuse though is another matter 🤔🤣👍
I like the holiday buggy with a 540. Based off a real vw kit buggy called the stripper.
I’ve not heard of that I will have to check it out, I do have a funny story about a school trip to Germany and a stripper from when I was a kid, but that’s for another time 🤣😂👍
I have a 17 turn motor in it and oil-filled dampers.
We will see how this goes before too many upgrades 🤔
It's a bugger to paint, even with plastic primer, but a great vehicle.Stick on the oil shocks and put a faster motor in.
Good fun
We are looking forward to getting this built and for the challenge to get the paint on it 👍
You should have got it and put a dirt tuned motor in it.
See how the Torque Tuned gets on first and go from that I’d say

Yes it does feel like this is one for science 🤣😂👍

You are aware you're going to have to mess temperature to make that body take paint. They tell you can't the body.
Well we like to think there is no such word as “can’t”. It will be painted 👍
Do a speed run with the 380 vs 540.🤔🤔🤔
It a bad idea, but I’m sure we could throw it faster than a 380 motor 🤔😂👍
Awesome kit, interesting thoughts on the Torque Tuned motor. I feel like you talked me into getting one
Torqued Tuned is what we pop into most of the models, if we want them to fly though we bung a BZ in them 😂👍
awesome!!!
Looking forward to this running 👍

It should be fun trying to get the plan to work, if it fails we will just have to put wallpaper on it 🤣😂👍
