Funny story, back in the 80's I was involved in the running of the RC car racing at the Weston Park model show and we had permission to set up the track on the actual front lawn of the hall, we had a special gantry/steps built over the wall to allow pitting down below and the drivers to access the track. On the Sunday of racing The Earl of Bradford who lived at the hall suddenly appeared ranting and raving about the track being on the lawn and started kicking the cars as they were racing around, he took quite a bit of calming down and eventually went off in a huff 🤣
That F-14 is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. It's been my favorite fighter since I was a little kid, and my dad's friend was a RIO (the back seat, like Goose, if you don't know) during Desert Storm/Desert Shield. I love how it even has the AIM-54 Phoenix missiles loaded on it. If it were me though, I'd build a scale aircraft carrier for it out of a long flatbed trailer, complete with a catapult launching system. It might be kind of hard to land on it and catch a wire, but at least he could buzz the tower! LOL!
I worked on E-2s, A-6s and F-14's in Oceana, VA in the 90s. It amazed me that jets produced in the 70s, with some electronics from that era, were still in use. Some of the electronics were such a mess it would worry me to take that thing up in the air.

I can't be 100% sure, but from memories of my trade training, those belts stay on because the pulleys have a slightly convex profile (think of the section view). So the belt, to come off, would have to go uphill, one side of it anyway. Now because I'm a bit superstitious, I don't think 'Game Over' is such a good name for a plane. Sort of tempting fate. It's like calling it the 'Plummet'. Great vid as always Kev. Lots of fun was had.
Yep, the pulleys are rounded, so as the belt runs off one side the tension in the belt pulls it a bit crooked and it runs itself back to the center of the pulley. There's a bit of an art to lining up the machinery good enough for the belt to work properly. I agree with you on the naming. Game Over the airplane needs to be flown by a pilot named Crash and maintained by Rod Knock Rick. :)
yes you are correct and i believe the term is "crowned pulley" if anyone wants to find info about it online. most bandsaws use this tactic to keep the blade (a metal flat belt) tracking on the wheels
The fireworks demo-derby looked great...I bet an FPV battle with bottle rockets and roman candles would be really fun (or paintball/airsoft....how is this not a thing already?? lol)

Cool vid. The "bailer" an addition to the "threshing machine" which separates the grain from the chaff, which is then bailed. Stooks would be fed into the thresher, a grain truck would pull beside and fill with grain. The thresher is driven off the "power take off" via a belt from the vintage tractor. We did this on the family farm to about the early 1960s when the combine was affordable.

The pulleys are crowned and that's why the belts don't fall off. The crowned pulleys cause the flat belts to self-center.
