Fr. The ash of war feels a lot more fiting for Tricia's Pomander, than Fire Giant's Tail(and looks 100% cooler). Like if the Tale just a mod, while the Pomander is an actual base game weapon. Ridiculous how cool this is. Jokes aside, devs must recruit those guys.

It's a really good mod ngl. The weapons are not overly flashy and it's not even looks like a mod. These weapons could fit into the vanilla game perfectly.
these are some of the most unique modded weapons ive seen, they all fit in seamlessly with the game but also all do some really interesting stuff like caimar's battlestaff using the hand-to-hand weapon animations on a poleblade seamlessly to the point where it could probably be its own weapon class. once i get a pc im definitely getting this mod for the weapons alone lol
i mean, theres the Helphen steeple, alabaster lord greatsword, onix lord greatsword and the darkmoon greatsword, I think there was plenty of options even for powerstancing int greatswords
Tricia's Pomander is all ive ever wanted, I really wanted to be able to do that with the grave duelist weapon same as they do it. though, don't have a strong enough pc to run elden ring, let alone modded.
I like the scarlet triscythe since its something that already exists in game as a prop for radahn's arena you could never obtain, so getting to mess with it here is fun to see~
The triscythe is actually a weapon we see in game but never actually appears as a proper weapon used by any character/boss. Super cool to see it in action!
I’m curious to see how practical that some of these really commitment-heavy AoWs actually are. I know that as I try to optimize the vanilla game more and more, I find myself favouriting things like Impaling Thrust and Square Off more than the really flashy attacks.

For those unaware, the sword of night and flame was reworked into the sword of the cosmos in previous versions of the mod because the convergence team is apparently allergic to multiple damage types on the same weapon. Love the mod, but that annoyed me.
Yeah, the fact the Convengence team dislikes implementing weapons that combines physical with elemental damage like magic or lightning at the same time is just dumb.

YEEEEESSS CAIMAR'S STAFF Also love the Sword of the Cosmos. My main request would be for a dynamic rapier. I feel like rapiers have really fallen by the wayside in Elden Ring and we never got a really neat one with a cool skill. If you want a more varied moveset I recommend looking up "Sidesword" rapiers that cut and thrust very effectively. Also just some musketeer fashion would be nice. But I won't demand anything obviously lol

Disclaimer: I haven't used weapons yet in Convergence that do what I'm about to describe, so I don't know if it's a problem or not, but I think it's something that should be acknowledged. The one issue I have with weapon skills that cause you to move forward a certain distance is that I don't want to accidentally dash past an enemy I'm locked on to and miss the full brunt of the attack. The appropriate way to design skills that move the player is for them to only displace you an appropriate distance towards the enemy you're targeting and no further than that, thus ending the travel distance early when necessary and skipping straight to the final blows of the animation.
As someone who HAS used many of the convergence weapons, the tracking is pretty strong so 9 times out of 10 you don't even up going past the enemies. The convergence team is very conscientious of these issues.
i would say convergence handles weapons better than their spells. their spells are all either too much even for elden ring standarts (and it was also way too much in dark souls too) or are very redundant and uninspired as they just give every spell type clones like everyone having a GGS or similar) some weapons do feel a little too much but they feel much more at home than the spells really.
Agreed. Some spells do well, but a lot of them have extremely specific effects that require a paragraph of reading just to understand what the spell does. I guess that's a consequence of making 27 different classes lol. Melee Weapons can AFFORD to be simpler because all of those details go into the moveset, rather than the specific flavor of long ranged projectile spam.

I didn't make one for this video because they have a pretty good location list on their changelog and they added a way to spawn them in with cheat engine, but there has still been a lot of questions about locations so I think I will make one this week

Just because not everything what we got is flashy doesn't mean that they didn't added 8 types of fully original weapons on top +1 weapon to every category... Convergence it's great but the need to trashtalk what we got is forced

I'm referring to stuff like the Spirit Sword and Spirit Glaive, whose skills are just Sword Dance with a couple weak ghost projectiles, The Bonny Butchering Knife, Moonrithryll's Knight Sword (a carbon copy of the troll knight sword with Greatblade Phalanx slapped on), and the Bloodfiend's Sacred Spear, which is just a worse version of a weapon we already got from defeating Mohg. We shouldn't ignore all the great additions, but it would be silly to pretend there were no disappointments.
@@dukesilver1189 I think his point is that there's enough new original weapons that the much less inspired reskins aren't such a big issue. SotE is easily the DLC with the most new unique weapons with unique movesets and AoW for any Soulsborne game Fromsoft has made.

I'm using a 3070 and 5600x for my videos (as reference) personally Ive had better luck with Nvidia cards over and I've heard really good things about X3D amd processors apparently the ryzen 7 7800 X3D is really good for gaming. Would probably pair really well with a 4070/80 if you didn't want to wait for the 50 series cards
@@ranzamack8447 sorry for the late reply, but both options seem good. Personally I don't think it is bad to get the better stuff, that way you future proof for a bit. But these would be better than what I am currently running so you would be more than fine for any elden ring mod at 1440p. But it is all for whatever you are comfortable with and what you need!

The ONLY thing that disappointed me about the Pomander was that it's a basic Mace even on the Heavy attacks. The AoW requires too much commitment to land on bosses, so you're stuck with the tiny range of your melee attacks with some extra clouds for damage. I think the weapon would be truly S Tier if it got a Whip Heavy Attack that extended the flail and swept an area for one quick swipe, but kept the close range Mace moveset for Lights. Also maybe include Poison too, since it was also a Perfume Bottle. But I'm sure 4 is already pushing some technical limitation. Also also: More Perfume bottles and maybe some Ashes of War other than the vanilla ones.

@ literally just pick up the Broken Pomander in Castle Morne town, in the little Gazebo on the cliff. And it will give you a map that will tell you where the other pieces are. Collect all of them, bring them back to Hewg, and you can forge it
Download reshade and run the installer, once prompted you'll select your game - Elden Ring - then dx10/11 then at the bottom you'll see a thing to select to install a preset. Select your chosen preset and it should install that reshade with only the needed shaders.
It's mostly because From keeps holding onto PVP for some reason and so they can't actually make cool spells or weapons with crazy attacks, due to "balance".

I love how giant hunt a basic thrust is much more useful than other outlandish AOW when I used it against Malenia

speaking from experience, some of them are VERY practical because of the damage they have and the extra hyper armor some of the AoW's give.

@ literally just pick up the Broken Pomander in Castle Morne town, in the little Gazebo on the cliff. And it will give you a map that will tell you where the other pieces are. Collect all of them, bring them back to Hewg, and you can forge it

how to use Reshade?
Download reshade and run the installer, once prompted you'll select your game - Elden Ring - then dx10/11 then at the bottom you'll see a thing to select to install a preset. Select your chosen preset and it should install that reshade with only the needed shaders.

Im convinced fromsoft is just ass at weapon and small feature implementation compared to the absolute glory that is convergence
It's mostly because From keeps holding onto PVP for some reason and so they can't actually make cool spells or weapons with crazy attacks, due to "balance".
