      I was a teen in the 80's and it was awesome. The world was slower, and the music was very important. You could just lock yourself in a room and play your tape recorder all day and night. The music went hand in hand with your life. And it touched you deep in your soul. Music was bought out by corporate interests by the mid 90's and "image and scandal" over shadowed talent and musical substance. For years now they have put out trash bubble gum music that does not last in your soul and heart. I miss those days. Take a listen to all the music put out in the 80's and you will find (It is YOUR ERA too)

Maybe this guy would have gotten help with his demons. It's so sad that the band he made big bad talks him, they are so money hungry they had to get someone to sing Jani song's. Mina you are so right on! I knew him personally before he was being called Jani Lane, in fact his girlfriend at the time, Krissy, showed us pictures of him with makeup on and we all about fell out of our seats! John (Jani) was talented, and such a loving person. I miss him so much but I've also dealt with suicide and alcoholism...I wish he could have reached out for help.

      I think a big part of the problem is how grunge killed off hard rock in 1992 --- Jani went from being a popular rocker to a "has been" and it affected him personally, since it was his entire identity --- I think he just needed some good pyschotherapy to let him know that his career didn't define him as a person, and that living life is a treasure in itself, regardless of whether you can fill an arena with fans or not

    • @lisaglennon7518
      @lisaglennon7518 Год назад +3

      @@fredwerza3478 I never knew a time, John didn't have being a rock star on his mind. He hired a personal voice coach in Orlando, he played alot down there and finally just took the chance on Los Angeles. Grunge definitely took over the Glam Rock scene and he couldn't handle not being in the light anymore. He was a gift to those who knew him and I don't know if you ever heard of a band from Florida called Stranger. They had a guitar player, Ronnie Garvin, who was absolutely amazing...like Eddie VanHalen amazing. He took his life too but his was professional AND personal. I miss them both quite a lot.

      @@fredwerza3478 Absolutely! John worked so hard at everything he did you knew you were going to get a great show when you saw him. He would walk around sometimes and just talk to his fans. He was humble but he was also very steadfast about his music, the band, I would say even his partners but I didn’t k I want of his ex wives but the girl he was dating that I did know was into rockers but when John came around she absolutely loved him.

      but now then.....he didn't write the songs or was a founding member of Warrant
      so you have to realize that Warrant want's to continue to perform and tour...
      I don't blame them....Robert is a terrific singer obviously would have to be in order
      to perform these song's ....because not just anybody can sing like Jani....
      but all the adulation need's to be placed upon the band and especially JANI...
      he wrote these song's....sung them.,...arranged all the harmonies...so....one
      need's to appreciate all that special talent and give thanks and appreciation
      to the person mostly deserving of it.....and that person is JANI LANE

    Even the bands who were not at the top of the elite list in the 80s. Sound better and made WAY better music than the CRAP on the radio today. But i aint telling you nothing new. I remember as a teen in the late 80's there were TONS of bands that had a few hits but did not get SUPER POPULAR like some of the giants. I wasn't so much into them as the top bands. But now i go back and listen to them and realize how great they were.

      Eustass, music today is crap. In fact most of the popular music today will fade in popularity in no more than a year.
      Meanwhile kids these days still appreciate 80's to 90's songs. They still get moved by the emotional, when they listen to these old songs.
      Do you know that most hit songs nowadays are written by just 2 people --Max Martin and Dr. Luke using the same old, tired CAGE chord progression? Yes, if you string together most songs today, they will fit together perfectly into one song because they are all just CAGE songs. There is even a video of people joining several songs together and they sound just like one song.
      There is no diversity in music anymore. In the past, bands and composers use their creativity to come up with nice progressions, now thats gone. Maybe you should learn a little music theory so you wont make ignorant remarks.
      The sad thing is that Kids today have been feed crappy music growing up so they think modern music is good just because they have not heard good music.

    I love the way Jani moved his body with the music, his powerful spiritual voice and his sweet luscious eyes. I can't stop myself from watching every video of him but I'm also feeling really upset that I can't get to know more about him except from those flickering clips. I hate the fact that I know Warrant too late. I'm a 17-year-old girl from Hong Kong, my parents and friends don't know them and they would not understand why I'm so blue. It's like losing an old friend. I wish I could know what it's like to be a fan of Warrant in the 80s, what was Jani like? Can any stars be compared to him so that I can imagine how lucky would I be if I was born back then?

    • @KatHooligan
      @KatHooligan 7 лет назад +5

      Doctor Detroit I'm so glad I finally get to know a bit more about Jani and what hair metal's like back then, thanks to you:) You're very lucky to have met him, and not only once. But I bet being a faithful fan like you must be much much more devastated than I do. I'm sorry. It's really sad that people abandoned this genre of music so quickly when they're the ones who made it popular. Perhaps this what rock was about, looking good, living fast and dying young. Rock stars needed to stay energetic and sober while living side by side with alcohol and drugs, it's like they never needed to rest. People said they love the music but what they truly admire was their inhuman "cool" lifestyle. It's unfair for rock stars like Jani when all they passionated about was to play music. They brought to the world with great songs, lyrics that can truly touch your heart, but what people did in return was pushing them away. I'm not sure and I'm not interested in knowing what Jani was going through during those sunken days and how did all that lead to what happened. The beautiful music he brought to us is the only thing I will cherish and admire him for forever. And thanks for the music advice, I know who Bret Michaels is, he's great and I hope one day I'll get to meet him:)

    I wish Jani Lane was still alive!!!!! He was such an awesome singer and performer!!!! I never got to see him in concert or anything, just thankful to be able to see him on you tube. Thank you to everyone who shares his performances!!!! It's beautiful. His old band mates in Warrant should really play this song back and listen to the word's Jani sings when he sung, " I got no where left to go and no one really cares". Maybe Jani felt like they didn't care about him as a person, only as a job, a paycheck.....I don't know. I do know alcoholism is a disease and I don't think anyone wishes to be one. I also don't want to seem like I'm talking down on the Warrant band member's either. I don't know them or their thoughts. I do wish they'd have manned up and went to his funeral though since it would have been the honorable way to behave. They could've done it for his family, at the time, for his young daughter. I'm not judging, just my own personal thoughts.
