Bill always does an amazing job when doing these benefits for Jani. I wished I could have been there but health reasons kept me away. Thanks Billy Morris for always keeping Jani's memory alive and well for us all. Thanks to Maddie for her supreme vocals and for carrying on her Dads legacy. Jani would have loved this as I know he loved you all so very very much.

Damn I loved warrant. I was 18 when this song came out, and it still gives me incredible feels whenever I play it. There's a sweet sadness to it, and Jani had that voice to drive it. Too young. I wish someone could have helped him.....total downer.

The orange sunburst guitar being played in the back is one of the last guitars Jani owned. He played it during his last studio session with Warrant and Maddi recorded it on video. That guitar is now in my Jani Lane collection, locked in a glass case. I brought it to the show that night so Maddi could see it. I also gave her a photo album that her grandparents put together over the years. That's Maddi's good friend playing it. He was a nervous wreck just holding it. Lol

That is beautiful. I got to hang out with Jani an entire weekend when we played Rocklahoma together. He was a great guy and beyond nice. He treated me like I was his best friend and I’m nothing . I’m so glad Maddi is doing this .
In 1989, November, I was in A school in the Navy. PNSY Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard. Motley Crue was on their Dr. Feelgood tour, Warrant was opening at the Spectrum. The arena had a loading dock underground a couple stories down under it. The ramp going down to it was just out in the edge of the surrounding parking lot. A friend and I went down in uniform even though we didn't have tickets. He noticed a bus parked by the top of the access ramp out in the lot, and suggested we go over. As we got there Jani was walking up it and to the awaiting bus. He was asked for autographs, said he would come right back, he had a towel around his neck and was dripping with sweat. It was beginning to snow. He kept his word came right back out, signed 30 autographs, mine included. I said "hey, how bout one for the Navy!" He said sure man, my cousins a medic, only guy I know that can drink me under the table! Nicest dude ever. That's my Jani Lane story.
i saw jani on the nash:ille show on the last tour w/ the original lineup a😢nd he looked and sounded the best id ever heard him/them. this chokes me up to see his baby girl smiling thru the pain.....

Warrant kicked a**😊. I saw them live twice. The second time I actually found out Jani died while I was waiting for the concert to start! Someone told me on the phone. It just wasn't the same without him.

This is the first time I haven't been absolutely pissed off to hear this song sung by anyone but Jani. I think the lack of respect that the wannabe Warrant frontman show by continuing to destroy this beautiful ballad is unbelievable. There just seems to be no sense of loyalty between fans and musicians anymore. She's a gorgeous young gal and must have gone through some real tough times without her dad I think he would have loved to see this. I know he really wanted her to sing.

This is his daughter by his second wife. His older daughter is by Bobbi.
Next month, the members of Warrant will be performing in the state of North Carolina. Maddi is a UNC graduate and still lives in Chapel Hill today. I like Robert Mason especially in Lynch Mob. Whether or not Robert feels comfortable sharing the stage with Maddi, I don't know but this is her dad's song and not his (meaning Robert). She should be given at one chance with Joey, Erik, Jerry, and Steve, The perfect storybook ending to Jani's legacy is to see his baby girl perform with the surviving members of Warrant. Even if it's only a one off.

You know, for that era of rock..with so many superficial songs, Jani Lane was an outstanding songwriter. It is not a coincidence that Warrant has not been a relevant band without him. Also, she has his eyes. Bittersweet. I wish he had lived and not succumbed to his demons.

I don't know if it was the phone recording of this? Audio is terrible! So the sound guys fault? Hard to here the vocals! Sound was muffeled! Her vocals should have been boosted way more! I got bits and pieces of her vocals. Her dad was awesome! She has a great voice im sure! Wish I could have heard it better! She's very cute though! Looks so much like her dad!!
