  • In this video, we discuss some real-life situations where these hydraulic control valves can be used on a utility or farm tractor. The two hydraulic control valves in this video are 2-function control valves that are typically being used to control a front-end loader on a tractor; however, they can be used to control any add-on equipment on a tractor. The nice thing about these valves is they have float on one of the sections. The section with the float feature is typically used to control the arms of a front end loader, so that when scraping the ground, the loader follows the contours of the ground. However, this float feature can be nice in other setups as well - for example, it's nice to have the float feature when controlling a snow blade, allowing the blade to follow the contours of the ground.
The larger control valve is designed to work with farm tractors above 80 horsepower. The smaller valve is designed to work with utility or compact tractors. The main difference between the valves is the amount of oil flow they can handle. The smaller valve can actually be used on a larger tractor if it's being used to control equipment that will only take a small oil flow.
Both valves have the option for a 3rd function. The valve designed for the farm tractors will have a 3rd section controlled by buttons in the joystick handle. The buttons open and close the grapple.
The valve designed for utility and compact tractors under 80 HP has an option for a third section as well. This third section is controlled by a lever.
Both valves can be set up with a joystick handle directly connected to the valve for local control. This would typically be the setup for an open station tractor (no cab). In this setup, the valve with the joystick lever directly attached can be mounted on a bracket to the right of the steering wheel. Mounting it on a ROPS stand would work well also.
Both valves can also be set up to be controlled remotely, via a joystick connected to the valve with cables. This setup would most commonly be used with closed station tractors (tractors with a cab). This setup allows the valve to be installed anywhere it fits best on the tractor, often under the body of the tractor or on the rear. The cables then run from the valve up to where the joystick is mounted near the operator.

I need to replace, the loader valve on my NewHolland 3930 50hp Tractor. It has the 7210 Ford loader . The old joy stick is a Prince brand name. The valve controls just the front end loader
How many GPM and how much PSI will I need on the New Valve?

You’ll want a control valve that has a working pressure of about 3000 PSI and a flow capacity of around 13 GPM.
