      Just get a Tundra Pro with factory supercharger. Cheaper than both of them.

    • @seantaylor2683
      @seantaylor2683 7 лет назад +8

      The Tundra with a TRD supercharger(not turbo) would be faster in a straight line than the Raptor. With the SC the Tundra's 5.7L V8 makes about 500 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque though I've heard the 3UR doesn't handle boost that well with stock internals. Then again I've heard the ecoboost isn't the most reliable engine either

    The Toyota you can add a 2" lift, better tires and supercharger... the total cost is still less and it will last longer.

    America still builds the best trucks in my opinion. The RAM seems to handle any serious off roading while the Raptor seems the best all around truck for the everyday driver. The Toyota probably needs a little more work in serious off road stuff but will shine with it's reputation for reliable trucks. All in all it's a matter of personal choice and what you'll use your truck for. Great video and comparisons.

    I started looking at trucks a year ago, and feel in love with the Raptor. Somewhere along the way (I don't know when or where) while doing research, I discovered the Power Wagon. After doing more thorough research and comparison between the Raptor and Power Wagon, I purchased the 2017 Power Wagon. Raptor is an excellent truck and it's the cool/in thing, but the Power Wagon is just the most capable truck on the market that I've researched. You cannot overlook that when you buy a truck, it still must be able to do what a truck is supposed to do; otherwise buy a jeep, range Rover, etc. Next, you cannot overlook the winch. I didn't go into my research a Dodge man or. Ford man, etc.Anyway, now I got the Power Wagon and love it.

      Unfortunately, supercharging a Tundra 5.7 usually results in cracked engine blocks or thrown rods. Ever wonder why Toyota pulled the TRD supercharger package out of nowhere? Because engine were blowing up at a fast rate. The rods were weak, the engine block weak, and the pistons were not designed to handle supercharger duty.

    The fellow driving the Power Wagon is a better driver than the other two and thus his choice of approach and depart gave more clearance. OR, was this a set-up to showcase the Ram? Case in point, in the 8:40 area note how much more angled to the left the Ram's approach to the ditch is compared to the track straight into the deepest part of the Toy and Raptor. The angle helps tremendously and the ditch is less deep to the left. None of my dogs in this hunt, but honest observation.

    Awesome video! When checking departure clearance the Ram took an angled line though:p None of the trucks would've scraped if you all got to take an angle, so the Ram kind of cheated. Great video either way!

    Buying a truck with towing capability, driving the CanAM offroad, it's so much better than a on road vehicle. The Toyota is awesome but too expensive for what it is.

    • @POTFULLOFGREEN
      @POTFULLOFGREEN 3 года назад

      Its expensive cus it will outlive its driver while the ram will be in a junk yard 15 years from now and ford will be sitting in a overgrown field.

    • @HeroOfTheWeb
      @HeroOfTheWeb 3 года назад

      @@POTFULLOFGREEN I had a 2nd gen tacoma for 10 years, I sold it for what I paid for it and that guy drove it for a few years and sold it for what he paid me for it haha.
      I was told by the toyota dealership mechanic - while he was replacing the toyota frame on recall - that he hates the newer model tacoma. Time will tell if the engine lasts as long as the 1GR-FE from the 2nd gen. If you check tacomaworld they have pictures of people running upwards of 750k miles with no problems. So I get that the toyota name means quality, but its just not enough truck for the asking price these days.
      TRD PRO
      278 HP, 6400lb towing capacity
      $47,000
      For comparison I bought a Chevrolet 3500 LTZ 4x4 (full leather with cooled/heated seats and touch screen) much more room inside.
      445 HP
      910 ft. lbs of torque
      can tow upwards of 15,000 lbs
      2021 version of my truck is $52,500, so for $5k more you're getting a lot more truck and it's diesel.
      To be fair, all manufacturers get you on the "elite trim package" thing. The TRD Pro is just a skid plate, and "tuned" suspension and its a lot more than the normal Tacoma. The high country package for the Chevy adds shitty plastic trim on the inside and an ugly color scheme and its $12k more MSRP.
      I work with a guy who has a hitch on his mercedes wagon and it will pull that amount. Essentially I'm saying this truck is priced so high because of the brand. The earlier models absolutely did last forever, but we don't know yet with the newest engine/trans.
      Not trying to be an ass, just saying out loud what I'm thinking.

  • @MrJcjet
    @MrJcjet 7 лет назад

    If you guys were wondering - you want to approach those rock faces at an angle. You can get through fins and things without touching bumpers on a stock Tacoma if you drive well. Maybe you could ask someone who has some experience on the trails how to drive these obstacles if you wanted to see how to get through those tighter sections without rubbing. I love MILTS! Great choice!
