( I added 4 extra links for my cassette 10-36T) also in your video I can not appreciate how close is the cage to the body, at the moment you are rotating against the spring tension, Thank you

Even IF, IF somehow they were able to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt they save anything in DT efficiency, they'd then have to prove they don't LOSE anything to aero, lmao

There are videos on the youtube where the oversized Ceramic Speed Pulley was compared to regular Dura-Ace. The friction saving of the oversized wheel was totally compensated by the increased wind resistance and thus the advantage of Ceramic Speed was purely emotional. Hambini nailed it with his reviews of this crap. But that OSPW looks absolutely sick and if they reduce the price just a bit, I am a born sucker for this... 😅

Awesome video like always never a disappointment, always full of insightful education, technique, news and hilarious and funny as heck…. lol , never ever ever a boring video, thank you so much brother
Bro, the reason your cranks keep on spinning after you stop turning the Kranks doesn't have anything to do with the derailleur pullies. I think your freehub body has a lot of friction in it., that always seems to be the case in 98.64% of the times. I do friction analysis on bicycle components for a profession
1000 percent no…. I understand where you are coming from. Yes in the older times were hubs were loaded with pressure to make sure they were tight this was true. But now majority of high end hubs are no loaded with a end cap. They are all pop and play. Bearings pressed in. End cap popped in place. There is no more tightening end caps until no more play. The reason the for this is because there is less friction because of the size of the pulley wheels. So the chain can carry momentum easier so there is little force to stop it. So it conitues. If there was more points of engagement like a 54t ratchet it would even more enhance this and make this more happen. Your a quack Jack
@@GCPerformance18 bro, put the old derailleur pullies back on And spin the cranks again and I'll bet you a million bucks(because I'm a Russian oligarch) the pedals will do the same thing!

@@JohnConti670 Was your new chain long enough? You need additional links compared to a standard cage. I'v noticed no gradation in shifting on Shimano or SRAM once they were dialed in.
@@455LT1 yeah everything was good I might have gotten a older model because when I compared the axles, the Shimano was significantly thicker. The nova ride was thinner which made it loose so it wouldn’t shift properly
So my meager weight savings is negated by needing an extra couple links in the chain, and the efficiency gain of the larger pulley is negated by using a ring bear. The more efficient would be a sprocket with a very small ball bearing with the smallest feasible axle, or the smallest inner bearing race diameter.
Polish cast plastic. Nylon rings, lot of flex… My money says NO…. Ceramic speed for quality all day long. But the gains on my level is so small i kept my money even though i am Living 10 kilometers away from Ceramic Speed.
Great video. According to the AB HOLLOWcage instructions, you installed their SRAM Rival (AXS) cage and not the Red/Force. I'm basing off the location of the spring tension hole drilled into their cage. The Red/Force is supposed to lower (in the direction of the lower pulley). I caught this in the instructions while installing, then proceeded to drill the missing hole. Spring seems way under tension now. In short, your Ikea strategy of open and go mechanic on the f*cker, totally worked. I usually employ that strategy too but this time round I got dumb and read the instructions. LOL.
So, I have to wonder...if these OSPWs are so beneficial, why...WHY do the component OEMs (SRAM, Shimano) not make them as an option on their groupso? I...as an aviation engineer suspect these are simply way to extract premium dollars from folks who are seeking a minimal advantage in their drive train performance.
If 1x drivetrains are so good for mtb's why do they still put 3x drivetrains on any bike? So they can make more money buying their stuff twice. Once to get started and a second time for what they want.

They lowered the price because sales plummeted. Garbage piece of equipment not even worth the cost of materials. The real-world physics: More bearings = more friction. Aerodynamic gains are tested while isolated meanwhile real-world: all air is dirty turbulance by the time it hits your derailleur.
Ummm, and the point of this is……? The design is heavier than a traditional design of the same materials soooo, it’s not for weight savings. If the large 12 and 18 teeth trolley wheels are supposed to be a big reduction in chain friction then why is the more highly loaded 10 or 11 tooth cassette cog OK? The most beautiful designs are solutions that most elegantly optimize all functional criteria. This silly bling doesn’t optimize anything.
LOL Over $500 for 3 cents worth of injection molded PE, 10 cents worth of 1/2 mm ceramic bearings in plastic bushings, and maybe 50 cents worth of torched stainless steel. Oh, and let's not forget the penny's worth of glue they used to put it together. Absolute Black is an absolute scam.
Aesthetics are nice on this OSPW ngl, but damn... Its all complete trash from bearings to the cog's tooth dimensions to the extent where even the stock PWs are much better in terms of performance.

They lowered the price because sales plummeted. Garbage piece of equipment not even worth the cost of materials. The real-world physics: More bearings = more friction. Aerodynamic gains are tested while isolated meanwhile real-world: all air is dirty turbulance by the time it hits your derailleur.
great video mate..keep the nice work
I use this on my SSCX bike.
did you know that 10 teeth cog costs you 10 watts?
lmao
They are selling a cheap piece of plastic for $700 (or $575), Why would you trust their wattage savings claim?
What part of florida are you?
Deerfield beach Florida
17:53 really? You didn't flick it as hard as you could? We all came here to see that puppy spin for 3 minutes
Why is quieter better?
Reminds me of an ear gauge
Is the cage made of plastic?
Carbon.
The whitest pronunciation of Spanish also brought to you by GC
Hahhahaha
Yo Grant… send me one and I’ll give you unbiased review on it😉
LOL Over $500 for 3 cents worth of injection molded PE, 10 cents worth of 1/2 mm ceramic bearings in plastic bushings, and maybe 50 cents worth of torched stainless steel. Oh, and let's not forget the penny's worth of glue they used to put it together.
Absolute Black is an absolute scam.
that random guy is so hilarious lol
This has got to be the absolute worse bike component invention ever.
Complete waist of money.
Aesthetics are nice on this OSPW ngl, but damn... Its all complete trash from bearings to the cog's tooth dimensions to the extent where even the stock PWs are much better in terms of performance.
Thought I would share my experience with AB as a company. Purchased chainrings from them. Customer service, website experience and shipping were great. Customer service even suggested deleting an item from my order because I didn't need it. They are no different than these companies that sell you overpriced bikes and make outlandish claims about watt savings, aero and such. Flaming marketing will get you nowhere, it's just how they operate. To their credit, they lowered the price. When was the last time one of the big bike manufacturers lowered their price? Can't wait until the S-Works SL7, Pinarello Dogma F or any other top tier bike price is lowered...LOL Don't hold your breath! Kudos to AB!
Thanks for the Video!
Price is still ridiculous.
How much were chainrings? $1k? 😅
ok then run and buy cause they lowered the price.
@@johndef5075 Yes, it is way too much, I agree. Don't care for the look myself. Point was, they are no different at the end of the day than say Specialized, as a company.
Chainrings were $212 btw. No one else that I know of makes 46/30 rings for my Shimano 105 cranks. And they do work great. Expensive? Yes! But worth it for me and not just some marginal gain you can't notice.
@@ozgurinsan You totally missed the point... I don't like the look personally. So not going to run out and buy them. 🤦♂
Love my SRAM ABSOLUTE BLACK OSPW. So quite and super smooth OMG heavenly!
Theres less flex in a rubber band
Can i use this in rival e tap ?
no right now they only have force and red
