    What do you think about Urban Downhill racing?

    • @MarvinWestmaas
      @MarvinWestmaas 18 дней назад +16

      I think Urban Downhill should not be done in the rain....
      edit: I know the crash wasn't due to the rain per see, but while you say you loved it all the way you did look pretty sketched out about the state of the streets prior and I wonder if that might have messed with your head to the point it contributed to the crash.
      I know testing/training is important, but if it's so slippery what gains do you get from riding it in those conditions when you're not going to race in conditions like that anyway?
      ps: What were your injuries? Looks like underarm/wrist? Hoping for a quick and full recovery.

      Horrible! Unethical to expose racers to these dangers. And stupid to have people so close to each other.

      Incredibly exciting to watch, maybe something to help with grip could be laid down in the rain....should have a British urban downhill race....loved it!

    I'd like a video about: what is the best to do when you get 'winded'. Lay on the ground? Stand up? Kneel? Crouch? What's is best? What absolutely NOT TO do in this situation? How to know if it's 'just' winded or something more serious?
    Heal up man! You are the soul of GMBN

      yea good question! I've noticed that it's either winded at it's least or a collapsed/punctured lung at worst! I'd love to also know the best immediate support and analysis to know the severity. I would love to know for myself and how to talk someone else through that without just sitting there telling them to keep trying to breathe, which is totally fine.

    Wow Blake that was crazy crash. I see your arm in a sling, hope you didn't break anything.
    I didn't know you were participating in that race because I was watching it and that track was nuts.
    Going high speeds and anything around you is stone or concrete. So I can imagine any crash would hurt. Good thing that padding was there, but still hearing that all too familiar sound of the wind being knocked out of you. You still took it like a champ.
    Much respect for even signing up for that race. Shows the skill that is involved.
    Get better soon.

    Urban downhill is some of the most insane riding a person can endure. For that aspect I find it exhilarating. Interesting though to see that race day wasn’t postponed due to a lack of being able to rehearse enough for the event. Likely a safety issue in that. The crash is unfortunate Blake hope you can bounce back soon.
