It is all about personal preferences. 99% of us are not entering any competition. Flat bar or drop, disc or rim brake, just keep cycling. Life is too short to hate.
Full marks to the owner/builder. It’s beautiful and functional. A few things I would have done different but that’s the thing about a ground up build is it doesn’t need to make sense to anyone but the rider.
I have to say, each and every single detail of this bike was well thought through, and meticulously installed. Only thing - should’ve stuck with the drop bars. Also, its all synergistic - everything flows together, like fine golden wine. Unbelievably beautiful bike!
I love it... I love riding mountain bikes and I also do most of my riding in the urban jungles of Los Angeles, I would definitely ride something like this!
I used to ride a streetfighter, but changed to a dropbar. What a cool looking streetfighter! if I had the opportunity now, I would have collected one for myself for city races, and I would have left the drop bar for country trips. (G-translate)
That is totally impressive without a doubt. You WILL have the haters, the nay Sayers. Put some gravel tires and that would be the ultimate gravel bike. Sick Sick Sick looking. Love the Gold.............Simply Beautiful. The straight bar is perfect. Absolutely Perfect.
i bought a santini of 1988 with a flat handlebar and a mixture between shimano 600 and 105 and dura ace brakes and paid 150 bucks straight. all i needed was clean the thing and get it on the road for another 70 years.
Now I have seen everything!!! You are responsible for the biggest crime in cycling history!!!! 😂 Joking aside I applaud him for doing what he likes. Amazing job!
Cut 4.5 inches off the bars, maybe 5, get your hands as close to the stem as possible and you've got yourself a streetfighter/time trial bike that's lighter than the Tarmac was with its original drops. If you can yoga into a good aero tuck, this version of the bike might be faster, just not as comfy. An old NYC track bike hack.
@@johntrussell7228 you never while pulling moved your hands right next to your stem to ride like a tt bike. We don’t have mountains here or turns, it’s just a strait road
Where does he ride it mostly? I can dig it. Irks me tho to see the guys in my city rip with those wide flat bars, would think you’d want to be more narrow for tight spots when city riding.
Beautiful s-wORKS Epic Tarmac I´ve known some XC friends, who apply ROAD components on their MTB frames, as well someones have done the opposite. MTB components to their ROAD frame. when i had my first bike i had a hybrid with straight bars and wanted put drop bars on but my friend said if you were gonna do that just get a road and seeing this is crazy to see thats sick af

That's why TT bike that are less restricted don't use drops but "kinda flat" bar and extensions. Throw extension on this setup and you'll go faster than stock drops.
