First time my husband has sat down with me to watch one of your videos and he is impressed at how you are walking around with Daniel. He has never seen that before. He was also impressed that you mill your own flour. I don’t think I’ll let him watch again cause now he’s wondering why I never did that, keep in mind we’ve been married 50 years. 😘
Sourdough tortillas and biscuits. Grass fed meats, homemade bone broth...I’ve been looking for a “cook with me” RUclipsr like you :) happy to find you!!
Please create more videos like this! My family ate unhealthy growing up and I was never taught how to cook homemade food from scratch. I didn’t begin learning until my sons came along because I wanted to offer them a healthier lifestyle. This was so helpful! ❤️ Be detailed as possible because someone like myself will absorb it all like a sponge. 🙏🏻
Thank you Lisa your channel it is such a relief for me I have lupus and I'm considered high risk at the moment and I have a son with autism I'm all he has and with everything going on in the world I have never been more afraid and prayed so much but watching your content is so soothing and comforting and all the cooking and recipe video's are right on time with us being confined to our home and it's getting me in the kitchen cooking with my boy and just forgetting about things and just enjoying being together ☺
Throw some chopped apples in to those brussel sprouts during the last few minutes of cooking, then top with chopped pecans. This really takes it over the top. It’s one of my favorites in the autumn, served with sweet potatoes.
I make my Brussel sprouts with bacon fat and bacon bits. I will fry up the bacon, only 4-5 pieces (depends on how many people i’m cooking for.) I will typically do one piece per person and let them cool. With the remaining fat I will toss in my halves Brussels, cut side down and let them brown! Then once I see that they are browning nicely I will toss it to avoid burning and then throw them in the oven to brown a little bit more. Sometimes I just turn the broiler on for 3-5 minutes checking it every so often and we all love them. Disclaimer: I don’t have kiddos yet but I loved veggies growing up because I grew up very poor and fresh vegetables were a special treat!
Our favorite way to cook Brussels is to chop them in the food processor in tiny pieces and sauté in cast iron with coconut oil and diced garlic and salt. I get comments on them every time I serve them to other families. Super yummy! Love these videos! Thanks
What a hero. Where does she get this energy from??? What’s wrong with me. I have 2 girls and I get sad I have so much to do and just lay down and give up. I pray I have this type of energy someday. Someday soon 😔 (sigh) she gained a subscriber, maybe she’ll motivate me.
I love brussel sprouts fried in a little oil or butter with garlic, salt and some of your favorite spices. I do not cook it soft, it is way more tasty when it is still a little crunchy. I fry it and when it looks like it is going to burn I add. Little water and put a lid on the pan so that the steam can finish it off. I also lower the temperature a little after I fried it brown, but do not over cook it and make it soggy! I have also fried it with onions and mushrooms before.
I love watching along to this type of cooking video (ESPECIALLY during the countrywide 15 day Shelter in Place. Today, 3/23/20 is day 8 of 15 and I think everyone is doing a great job of keeping their families safe. And this video just made my day. I love it! Totally got my mind OFF of what’s going on. And also made me feel empowered with knowledge, and encouraged me to get some similar meals in the works this coming week or even next week. I needed ideas & inspiration. This was my ticket.
I'm a mom of 4 boys and I love the way you are so consistent with cooking and taking care of your family. I strive to do the same it's just so hard to get into a consistent routine! I'm thankful to have your videos to use for encouragement and inspiration! Keep up the awesome work your truly a blessing 😊💙💙
Your home keeping and family care are pure entertainment for me ! I have always love every minute of my life I’ve spent nurturing my children and making our home. Thank you 🙏🏼
BRUSSELS SPROUTS! We cook ours two ways: 1. Cook down in vggie or chicken broth(pan fry with the liquid adding as ths brussels get dry), salt, pepper and favorite seasonings. 2. Cut in half (with chopped onion if you like)toss with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake at 425 for 20-25 min. Good luck!
I only love brussel sprouts when i grill them in the oven. I cut them in half, drizzle olive oil and pepper, salt and smoked paprika powder and then put them in the oven and grill them until theyre crispy I loooove them like this, could eat them everyday Sometimes i also add some parmesan cheese but i actually prefer it without the cheese
We love brussel sprouts roasted. I heat a stone 9×13 and split the sprouts in half. Layer half butter and some advocato oil onto the sheet and sprinkle with lemon pepper then lay all the sprouts cut side down. I then sprinkle the tops with salt and a bit more lemon pepper and roast until they r almost burn looking on the bottoms. My kids love them.
My FAV way to cook Brussel Sprouts is to halve them, toss with EVOO, sea salt, and coarse ground black pepper and at roast them at 450* for 20-30 minutes. They carmelize beautifully and are OH EM GEE delicious!!
Roast the sprouts in the oven! They get very sweet. I usually do sprouts, sweet potatoes, beets, leeks- whatever brassica or root veggies you have on hand. Coat everything in olive oil, salt, pepper, and an herb, if you want. 400 degrees F for about an hour or until the veggies are fork tender, tossing occasionally to ensure they don't burn.
My kids LOVE brussel sprouts roasted in the oven with balsamic vinegar. My 6 year old daughter went back for seconds . My 15 year old daughter ate the leftovers cold for breakfast!
I’ve got bone broth going in my instantpot right now for your potato soup tonight! I invited a couple friends over for dinner tonight. They’re having hard times right now with this virus. Food from scratch just brings me back to my roots and grounds me
I have been cooking from scratch since I was 11 years old, Im 36 now. My mother showed me how to cook at a small age. She told me that when cooking from scratch, you eat healthy, you save money, and you see what's in your food. So sad that many people don't do this anymore. So happy for you...Even with 6 kids, you have maintained to cook from scratch to give the best to your family. Please dont stop.
Thanks for the ideas! Another great addition to the salads are garbanzo beans. We do our brussels sprouts in bacon too, but don't add the onion or sweetener. Our son doesn't like them, but our daughter does.
Yatin Sheth a lot of women live their life that way. I did when my kids were growing up. My husband prefers me not to do all of that daily, now that the kids are grown. He wants the two of us to always be together having fun, and he doesn’t enjoy kitchen stuff/cooking 😂😂 So, we eat much more simply now. 😊
Loved that I found your video by “chance” We aspire to run a farm one day. For now, we have a small a garden and raise some chickens. This video was very inspirational. As a homeschooling mama to 4 kiddos with one on the way, I really needed this. Can you please share info on your baby wrap? Thanks!
Hey just a heads up! Organic actually uses pesticides and sometimes way too much. The dose of pesticides in organic are no regulated whereas non organic doses has been studied for years! Not many people know this!
I HAVE THE BEST RECIPE FOR BRUSSEL SPROUTS 🙌🏼 The key is to slice them thin and cook them just like you did in your video. They taste so good. Make sure you crisp them up in your cast iron skillet. Another AMAZING tip - use them on a salad just like you do with your potatoes. ONE LAST TIP...Take a salad to a whole new level, sprinkle with "Everything But The Bagel Seasoning." Cannot even begin to tell you how good this is!! God bless your beautiful family ❤ LOVE YOUR VIDEOS 😘
Just found your channel and subscribed! Your kids are precious and your recipes look delicious:) I just made my first order with Azure Standard and pick it up this week! I ordered so of the Einkorn Berries and can't wait to try it. TFS. God Bless, Judy

Thank you so much for sharing your hearty healthy meal ideas Lisa. I’m anxiously awaiting your einkorn bread insights!
Try either making a shredded Brussels sprout slaw, on top of pizza, my son likes them crispy tossed in some Alfredo sauce, that is also good in pasta.
Kitchen, Lisa and everything looks just perfect. Enjoyed so much.
Edamame is also a yummy, protein-rich option for salad toppings!
