People have been calling for updates to the underlying daw, the midi and audio editors, that is what they are doing and it's a big deal, this update has the potential to be amazing, right now we dont really know enough to know.
I haven't used Reason Studios for many, many years. I bought it again late last year. I'm trying to get the hang of everything again. There are lots of things that I've missed. Lots of changes. But I'm interested in catching up and learning what will come down the road.
@@LossLeadas Well its interesting what you mentioned because I feel the same, when Reason makes new REs often they end up competing with those 3rd party REs. There is clearly highly skilled 3rd Party RE developers just look at the Synapse Audio synths REs they look and sound great. I think Reason Studios should let a 3rd party develop new Reason REs so they can spend all there energy and resources improving there DAW.
A GAIN device? That’s one of the “new features”?? ? ??? ? ? And eh, I’ve been loving Reason since 2.5 but come on mannnnn. Volume? Volume is a feature now? Why don’t they include a Quit rack device for Reason 14. Make it easier to quit the app maybe? Charge us for that!
I wasn't excited about this update like I am usually with previous updates. Most of what they are offering isn't what I need or want or I've purchased RE's that fulfill those needs. I was definitely turned off by them raising the price of the upgrade from $129 (what it usually is) to $200!!😒😒 I can get FL producer edition for that money and get much more features and bring the rack with me. I would rather no update than this one. I can wait another 5/6 years for R14
@@LossLeadas more sophisticated chord progressions like scaler 2 thars another thing i can't use scaler to control the midi. Reason sold out to let FL become the top daw
@@michaelcalderon6693 sophisticated!!! You have scales & chords then its chord sequencer... if a ninja cant create amazing tunes from those they just not good
So let me get this straight, since I purchased Reason 12 when it first came out (before Jan1 2024) I dont get the free upgrade to Reason 13, but a newbie does? WTF is that Propellerhead?
Why should u...u that broke...these people put in work aint nothing free.... people who BUY 12/UPGRADE JAN.. 2024 AND NOW.. GET IT FOR FREE.....same way they did me when i had got 11 and they gave me 12
Reason was made for electronic music.. They need to need to evolve. Doesn't mean, they have to stop catering to that genres, but they need to cater to more than that genre.
My guy any daw can make any genre of music lol....bc I make all genres in any daw....elaborate on catering to another genre? are you talking about drum type/kits? You can't be talking about sounds/instruments. are you talking about features of how to roll drums to sound like trap music etc?
@@LossLeadas I agree you can make any genre of music in any DAW. The thing is... Reason was first a workstation. Based out of Sweden.. The audience was primarily electronic music makers and DJs. Then they became a DAW with the introduction of Record. This is important because they do have an identity. Which is still gonna show in their work. I'm not knocking that. What I'm saying is with the transition to DAW, their should be more genres catered to. The soundbanks are primarily synths. There have been some acoustic implementationa. I own them all lol. The inspiration is gonna favor the electronic music. I'm not even talkin about trap. Where are the Timbaland signature refills, or a Jarius Mozee guitar pack?? Where are the r&b, Soul, funk, neo soul, orchestral, jazz content, updates tutorials??? It's mainly DJs and electronic producers or some European artist that the highlight, or that gives a tutorial. Not knocking them at all. but more urban genres don't get the same love.
Why you say that if they coded the daw to be compatible with 4K HIDPI...meaning it can be compatible with modern and future computers...CODING is a lot of work my g......for them to add future features that was only compatible to old computers they had to recode it... samething cube.protools etc had to do. All these modern daws already code that way
You can say maybe Reason lazy or delusional..but reaching the ceiling is impossible when all DEVS have to do is create what's out..I understand what u want...same here! ask yourself whats features are very important to you based on your style and skills and get that daw.
The Sidechain tool already exists in the rack extension world, Pump wich looks exactly the same
Exactly! thank you for realizing that
watch my newest videos..it will prove your point
Yup, and it's free now even. Great RE.
I thought Pump was discontinued. Interesting. I'll have to check it out later. Thanks
@@avace917 It was briefly, then came back in the shop as a free RE.
When I first discovered that I had those folders full of “effects combinator patches”🤯🤯🤯 cats don’t know lol
Yea facts
That edit mode window is big👌🏼

Did you really listen to what i was saying 🤣
I’ve been trying to get reason to add MPE support for the last 10 years 😢
Bro i feel ya pain...now thats crazy ahch..to be a dope producer daw and no MPE.
Every daw has pros and cons...how important is MPE to you? without does it stop you from creating dope music?

it'd be nice to see every note in the piano roll like FL and and an upgrade to scales and chords
Upgrade to scales and chords to do what exactly?
