    Reason 13 looks all really great, but the getting rid of the "Favorites Lists" in the Device Browser section is a workflow killer 😥, I loved that feature, it was so handy having your plugins in Favorites Lists containing all your most used (favorite) EQ's, Compressors, Distortion, Sautration, Tape, Channel Strips, etc. I WISH you guys would bring Favorites Lists back to the Device Browser section while still having the addition of the new browser for patches and audio files. Just my sad wish for Reason 13 😥

    Thank you .This looks like a good upgrade . Just an idea .What if there was a second loop button .The second loop button had a flexible start and end marker that would only work when the second loop button was turned on . This being a different colour and distinct to the main marker .Say the user wants to edit their track between measures 7 and 11 . That the second loop button would loop between these measure points . .

It’s slower, all my favourite lists of how I organized my plugins gone, Feeding me old ass subtractor and malstorm patches I never want to be recommended, clicking new instrument doesn’t take me to my device lists but a list of random patches….. this is a ui disaster

    The workflow updates are very welcome, but if you are an existing user and don't want or need another synth, delay unit or the utility devices then £200 is an excessive cost for the upgrade. It would be good if there was even very basic clip launcher / marker functionality so you can play different sections of a song on the fly to get spontaneous ideas for song layout before laying out your arrangement. This could so easily be achieved by the existing block functionality allowing different blocks to be triggered by keyboard shortcuts.

    the sequencer update is LONG OVERDUE. &, as some reviewers have pointed out, it's still WAY UNDERCOOKED.
    I have been an avid user of reason since version 2.0. I love it!! so much so that the clip-based workflow of bitwig & ableton are totally foreign to me, still to this day. but learning one of those--preferably bitwig--is also very curious & interesting to me. #reasonstudios How is getting rid of the fav list and thumbnails for external devices an improvement on workflow?
    This is one step forward, two steps back kind of thinking. The browser is nice I guess, but it's essentially just, "we have keywords now yay"! But if we forget the name of the FX or device we had in a list of visual cues it does no good at all.

    I don’t really understand what Reason has come to in these last few updates - charging top dollar and labelling things as updates - that… let’s be honest should have been free changes just to get Reason back on a level playing field with other DAW’s.
    I paid to upgrade to HD.

    PLEASE let us use the sequencer when using Reason as a plugin!
    Edit: what would be especially cool, is if every instance of the reason plugin within a project was aware of the others and were all available within the sequencer (that is aware of and reflects the global song position of the DAW you are working in). Then, by default each instance of the plugin within a session would be in it's own "group" and assigned to one channel within the Reason plugin. This way, you could use Reason just like you would with Rewire in the old days. Furthermore, you could use modulation across the various Reason plugin instances within a project.

It’s just all old stuff but on a different place. No new midi and audio features (except for ramp), which reason needs desperately, with everything looking and feeling completely archaic in 2024. How can you be aware of your competItion and still charge 200 for this? It’s absurd!
    The impression this gives me is that you guys are extremely lazy and just don’t give a damn, resting on the very amateur market, while you have fun just developing synths and devices, without actually improving the product for current times.

If it's in the system's default folders, can't I put this information on a hard drive that doesn't have a direct connection to the system's hard drive? //
    I don't know if it's possible, but having the piano row panel appearing on the side could also be a good deal, some work with ultra wide monitors, and it would be a smarter use of the function in these cases.

    I love Reason, been using it since reason 4, sadly the new browser has killed my workflow, sticky, slow, laborious. the plugin version is even worse, cubase doesn,t close down, takes about 2 minutes to get to each sound, had to deinstall reason 13, thought the update would make it better but nope, £200 for the slowest and biggest buzz kill so far, all the new tools and echo amazing but sadly the browser is massive let down for me, if its not broke don,t fix it and you guys just absolutely destroyed it. Gutted.

    We want the browser to be paired with the other soundbank and custom preset folder . Please, long time reason user here, been buying your suite product and a lot more.
    Please , why dont you just have release a free update for the sequencer that was outdated and give people the choice of wich browser they want, attach or detach. I'ts still the same software. Please , don't fall in the greedy way of doing thing.

    I don’t know about you guys but I do not like the new work flow! It is so much slower than before.. I really tried to give it a chance thinking it’s just me not being used to it but, the more I dive into it the slower my workflow is now! I really hate the sequencer function now.. it doesn’t slide when in edit mode. Plus, I added all my samples to the short cut and if you leave a project open for several days and come back to it the short cuts do not work. You have to close the program and go back into it in order for them to regenerate.. maybe, that’s a bug.. I wish they would spend more time doing really bad as functions inside the DAW instead of putting lipstick on a PIG!!!

  • @thetechsuppoort

    Why make the browser a locked window that can't be moved to another monitor like the others? If there's a way to change this or have it back to the old style, I can't find it. Just give us the option to have it where it always was. This thing doesn't even merge with the left panel anymore. It's frustrating and unnecessary.

    It was actually easier in Reason 12 to get all my samples bc they are all in a sample folder that has over 150 different sample packs.. It would take a life time to add them all bc the entire folder will not save to my shortcuts. Before you could easily slide the sequencer bar over and they would be right there to access and hear with the play button! If I am missing something please let me know!

      @@deeplink_audio How is it possible to manage the tracks in full height edit mode window ? You can't do that anymore, because the left side originally dedicated for tracks management is discarded...this is very bad UI/UX decision which ruins the workflow. In order to select the track, mute, solo, etc. you have to change the height of the edit window EVERYTIME to get the access to track management on the left side.

    • @salvadoriuss
      @salvadoriuss 3 месяца назад

      @@dusansynth I agree with you. If there are no keyboard shortcuts for solo/mute, this creates certain inconveniences.

    • @deeplink_audio
      @deeplink_audio 3 месяца назад

      @dusansynth Sure. Fortunately for me, I simply can't just jump up and down a track - as musical parts are in different places in the arrangement. So even with a full screen edit window, I would still have to (previously) exit to the arrangement view, find my bearings and then enter edit mode again.
      Also personally, I seldom work with an instrument that is covering more than 3 octaves at a given time.

    I am an "in-the-box" jingle producer who uses the R+ system in its entirety; no third-party plugins. The Ripley effects plugin is of particular interest; it's clear you've carefully considered the needs of sound designers with its feature set. The sidechain and gain tools are also very welcome. Alongside your updated browser system and sequencer improvements, I suspect my workflow will be at least 20 percent faster. Knowing Reason listens to its dedicated users, I would like to see, in the future, a one-stop mastering plugin (meter / limiter / clipper / eq / saturator) and track stacking. However, I am perfectly happy with Reason+ as it is. Lastly, I've noticed you've said/shown nothing about the SSL mixer, which my favorite part of the DAW. Any surprises regarding this? Looking forward to the update :)

    It wastes my time more than anything else, I find it not very fun to use, the old browser with tags would have been more pleasant and faster to use in the workflow.
    I have no choice I would have to use it, but it will be reluctantly, especially since I can no longer put Rack or VST as favorites

    did you finally add vst support into the reason rack extension, guessing no. The "improvements" to the sequencer are a joke. All you did was add quick keys and split the views. Its still a clumsy janky update not worth a full number update. The fancy browser has been as usual in other daw's for years now. Still the same crappy envelopes and automations. Typical out dated slow updated and not fixing the actual issues with the software. For those who like this great. I do hope it allows you to make great music. For me not so much of an upgrade and way to pricey.

    Soo. First I save the patch, then I go to the new browser and choose edit and assign tags.. right, I don't see myself doing that much. Why isn't this done in the save dialog instead of a multi step operation?
    I just want the sidebar browser with my favorite folders for devices and patches. Just finding the tags you want in a 2d list is a drag. I want the new sequencer updates, but I'm not sure I'm willing to let go of the old browser.

    • @Dougie-

      i have a subscription so no update fee for me besides the monthly payment. But after making a couple of tracks in R13 I've decided to roll back to v12. I thought the new browser was growing on me, but in real work I really dislike it. Locked to its parent window it's a nightmare for us who like to work with detached windows. It's like working with a straitjacket. Nightmare! And tags? Who cares about tags? I don't need to filter on Fat, Glassy, Glitchy.. It's just a gimmick! And I will never add tags to my own patches so pointless really. I put them in a fitting folder. I'm not into doing library work when making music. It was waaay better to have it docked. This is backwards. Everybody has realized a browser is best docked, then you go and detach it 😞
      I love the sequencer updates, albeit it's very few of them, but not more than I dislike the browser. So I'm going back to 12. Will update when the browser is dockable again, with favorites.

    Can I tag the devices like "top devices"? I'm dyslexic and I can rarely remember the names of devices. I use my device folders ALL the time. I have possibly near 1000 plugins and without being able to at least tag my devices I will sit and stare at the device list each time I try to recall the device name. I use looperator all the time and forget its name every day.
