Reason13 looks to be one of the greatest upgrades of any previous Reason versions thanks to all of these very well thought through devices, instruments and workflow changes. I'm happy I chose Reason as my main daw since V1. Thank you Reason Studios & Ryan!

Been doing the exact same thing as Stereo Tool with Kilohearts Comb Filter on stereo mode for quite some time! It's a good way to get *some* stereo width. Glad it's coming in an even more convenient package here and to all Reason users!

Some of these tools I already have the equivalent to in either rack or vst form… but I’m still eager to test these new ones out. Who knows maybe they’ll truly replace my other choices. 👍🎶
These tools are amazing. This is also the first time I see visual feedback from the device when using CV routing in the back. e.g. the small dot over the X-Fader or the stereo width display in stereo tool. I wish there would be more visual feedback like this when using CV cables. Great to see it now.

I appreciate that they're not trying to say these things are something they aren't. they're not new techniques or approaches that you can't currently do, but they're very convenient. I don't know if I'll be upgrading, but I'd definitely consider these if they were available as RE's
Combinator patches: *.cmb .. Some are effects and some are instruments .. well I'd like a way to convert back and forth in case I saved it while it was an effect but now I want it to be an instrument. Had some success with a hex editor .. managed to make the FX icon on it be an [i] but it still browses only effects after I've dropped it over an instrument combi :)
Decades for side-chain to show up, this is good. I filled out bug reports for the media browser several times and still have update problems when i add new material to my sounds folder - i dearly hope this has been fixed, that is why i switched to Reaper DAW and now use Reason as a VST rarely. In Reason my VST windows disappear when I click on other areas of the screen, drives me absolutely nuts. Why on earth does it do that? "keep window on top" doesn't work..... Appreciate YOU though, very much....thank you

In Reaper I route any track into another track, taking seconds. No dealing with TAB and plugging in cables, etc.

Stereo Tool is very interesting and I will get a ton of use out of it with my analog gear! It did remind me of Voxengo’s Stereo Touch; which is a pseudo stereo effect that is also mono compatible (and free). These utilities are a welcome addition to the rack!
Hi Can you make at minimum 13 different Combinators, with great desighn and cool sound design techniques using these new devices? Show us dirrectly with Combinators exactly how We can use these.
Please make a volume control (pre-fader ) on the audio track itself on the sequencer panel , so that you don 't have to go into the combinator ....And please make it possible to turn off the project in the background so that you don't have to constantly download the project and wait for it to load .....
Hello, Adding the Sidechain to the send effects is great but what if I want to use the kick and the snare at the same time as my sidechain triggers how would I do that? This has always been an issue in Reason?

Ohhhhhhhhh the sidechain tool in send mode just sends a phase inverted signal to the master bus? Weeeeeeird, I'm gonna have to try that. I usually do this by adding a compressor to a bus and sending whatever I want ducked to that.
To be completely honest we need more players and new daw skins I’m sure we all have vsts that do these same things I’m mostly excited about the browser
Surprised the gain tool doesn't have a R only and L only option (sometimes taking only the one side and sending it to both outputs is a better option than summing them together and sending it to both outputs when you want mono).
at first I've thought "meh" looking at those 3 devices because I already have same or better tools as vsts. Now I can see myself using them because they are deep enough and still simple and useful. They feel not like "devices again" but QOL improvement.
Does Sidechain Tool's *Send* mode works well when only ducking the low-end? Filtering typically shifts phase, so cancelling of the original sound via send wouldn't normally work. But maybe there's some clever compensation used?
@@HOLLASOUNDSI don't think you understand how send mode works... It plays the signal that's sent to it with a gain proportional to send amount and IN OPPOSITE PHASE to cancel out the original sound. For this to work, the return signal needs to be audio-rate accurate. My concern is that if the return is e.g. low passed to only affect the bass, then low pass filters always shift phase a bit, thus disturbing the accuracy. I was wondering if they took that into account in any way.

Seems like a rather confusing implementation of sidechaining. So you actually have to send a signal of the receiving device through an aux to the sidechain device that seems very backwards lol. And up to but not over 0 DB what does the amount you are sending even represent? Normally there would be a sidechain input on the compressor on the channel and it would receive a signal into the sidechain from the kick. This way seems very confusing. Personally I just use reason as an instrument Rack in a different Daw but this does not seem like a good way to learn sidechain techniques.

Yes they apear to of been listening to all the feedback and requests from reason 12 critics. They have put alot of effort into the new UI.

I normally do pulsing ducking manually recorded modulation, and just copy paste that, but I use Pump Like.

Side chain has been available for over a decade in Reason you just send audio or a LFO signal into the M class compressor or M class Equaliser.

I don't think that's the point. You could do all of this IRL before Reason. It's about streamlining and upping the quality.

Send the signal out of the side chain to a compressor input or to a EQ and then it will duck.
